I agree with many of you here, those are great books, but there are some very unknown authors that write the greatest books.
Authors that are amazing are...
Ian Irvine- The three world books, which currently containes three series. Jim Butcher- The Dresden Files were amazing. Sherrilyn Kenyon- Beware, her dark-hunter books are not for kids. Lori Handeland- Werewolves, witches and skinwalkers. Oh my! Same warning, not for kids. Jaquelyn Frank- Couldn't forget her. again, not for kids. JR Ward- Talented writer of paranormal romances. Again not for kids. LJ Smith- Her books may be old, but they are great. Caitlin R Keirnan- Her books are amazing, but they may be hard to read if you don't read often.

I like the usual stuff... Will have to check out some of the afore mentioned stuff. I love Tolkien, especially The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. The other two books tire me out with all the darkness and toil and stuff. He also has some short stories that I read once that are kind of fun. The Chronicles of Narnia were my favorite as a child, and I still read them now. I'm not a big fan of the Harry Potter series, I didn't finish the first book even. Call me a muggle all you want it just ain't happening. Two books I like alot that haven't been mentioned yet are The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley. Ella Enchanted is fun too, though I hated the movie. I almost lost all hope in Disney with that one...
