Barnacle is certainly a piece of work. He talks big, and is merely one personality flaw after the other. He means well, but is so full of insecurities that any attempted kind gestures on his part usually end up failing. That flower he just gave you? Likely stolen from some other mare (or even meant for another mare who turned him down). He's not a wild soquili and lives with an indian, of whom he often steals from right out of the poor guy's tent while he's away. He is a charmer -- or he tries to be. He's a huge flirt but has major commitment issues and thus would likely never settle down. He tends to lose interest once he gets what he wants, even if he might claim he'd commit. Barnacle enjoys making up stories about adventures he's been on, most of which are true -- to a point. He tends to exaggerate what actually happened. He may claim to have lost his eye due to a heroic battle in which he fought off ten kalona skinwalkers at once, but the more likely story is that he turned tail at the first sight of what he thought was a kalona in the distance and tripped, getting a stick in his eye -- only to find out the 'kalona' was just a flutter. Fortune does not smile upon Barnacle. He gets along better with mares than he does with stallions, often feeling threatened and competitive when other males are around.
