Ecclesiastes 9:5-6

Quote:
5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.

6 Their love, their hate
and their jealousy have long since vanished;
never again will they have a part
in anything that happens under the sun.

What does this mean?

5. "For the living know that they will die"(saying that the living know the truth)
"But the dead know nothing"(as in people who are not of God are ignorant of the truth and literally know nothing)
"They have no further reward"(meaning they can gain no profit for what they have gained shall be lost)
"and even the memory of them is forgotten."(this one im not quite sure of but i think its not that they are forgotten, rather think of what Christ said to thoughs who do not repent and that is "i have never knew you")
6. "Their love, their hate
and their jealousy have long since vanished;" (i think this means they're emotions mean nothing because they are not of spirit)
"never again will they have a part
in anything that happens under the sun." (i think this means that if they are not of God they will not have any part of him)

I know that this is in the old testiment but you have to remember that the old, and the new testiment are connected in many ways. and that its only the guesses of a 17 year old xD
