	We'll if L didn't die, then their would be no strive for Near and Mello, so then Light might have lost earlier or maybe even have won. But if he didn't die from Rem then they'd eventually get information of the Death Note and somewhere the story would fall through and stop making sense, yes I would have like it to end differently with L living but I'd be hard to further the story if he lived, think about it from another point of view.
