Amy's eyes widened very largely at what Karrie said. Then, she too burst out laughing suddenly. She even had to hold her sides after awhile because they began to ache.

She tried to speak around her laughter.

"I bet... I bet it tastes... as good as it looks... You should try it out!"

She went into another round of laughter.

Amy giggled again and rubbed Karrie's shoulder lightly as he leaned against the counter because he was laughing so hard.

"True... And too many sweets can be hazardous to your health!"

She smiled and then looked up when she heard Karrie say hi to someone. She hadn't heard or notice someone else come in before because she had been laughing so hard.

When she saw it was Kai, not having heard Karrie say who it was he was saying hi to, her laughter somewhat died down but her smile remained on her face.

"Hi Kai. How are you doing tonight?"

((*LOOKS AROUND* MARCO? ))

*waves* hey Karrie. Hey Amy. I haven't taken much time to relax lately so I thought that it'd be a good time to drop in on the MW since things have calmed down for the moment.

Well, I don't know about alcohol keeping me awake, but it's a rum and coke. Coke's probably not the best thing to have this late at night. *gets up and dumps out the rest of his drink*

Glad to hear you've got some free time, Kai. Unfortunately, not many people are usually up this late. *glances at the time* Actually, I should go home soon...

Eh, I don't think killafrog will be too hard on you. I think I'll pass on the running, though. *smiles at her* Good night, Amy. Good night Kai. *walks out of GGB*

Amy laughed softly and smiled back at Karrie. "Night, Karrie!"

When she heard Kai's comment about him being a night person being an attack on his social life, she couldn't help but feel a little tug of guilt in her stomach. She sighed softly and sat on the stool beside him. She didn't care if she happened to get in trouble, though Karrie did say that killa probably wouldn't be too hard on her.

"Kai... You know, if you like being a night person and like what you're doing right now, then everything else should fall into place eventually. You wouldn't want to change who you are or what you're like just to have a better social life."

She sighed and ran a hand through her ponytail. She wasn't wording this right. "Yeah, it didn't work out between us because we never saw each other, Kai, but I still think of you as a friend and I hope you think of me the same way, too. No night schedule would change that, and I think your other friends would feel the same way. And you might just have to wait for awhile to have a girlfriend or what have you..."

She laughed softly and shook her head. "And you've finally found some time to just sit and relax and here I am talking your ear off. I'm sorry about that. I guess I just want to help in any way I can, if I can."

Amy smiled and nodded. "Maybe you'd be able to find a guy who's also a night person, you never know."

She got up from the bar stool. "I would love to stay and talk your ear off, but I really have to go. I'm sorry, sweetie. You should come over to my house and hang out sometime. I miss you, and I know Thistle does, too. And I have a new pet! It's an owl... Technically, I think he's actually Thistle's pet. She found him but he follows me around all the time unless I shut him in the house with Thistle."

She smiled softly at Kai for a few minutes and then leaned forward and hugged him for a few moments. As she hugged him, she whispered in his ear, "You're such a good friend, Kai. I'm glad we can still get along well despite breaking up."

She gasped and pulled back from Kai though her hands were still on his shoulders. "Oh! Try to keep next Friday open, Kai. I have something happening on that night, and I'd love for you to be there! You could even be my date if you want."

She winked at him and then laughed softly.
