I gotta be hating on the original, because it was a waste of my time. A useless attempt at a multiplayer story.
Crystal Chronicles is the black sheep of the Final Fantasy franchise, and it isn't even one of those cool black sheep.

Pfft, it's not the worst black sheep of Final Fantasy.
It's either gotta' be Final Fantasy 9 that's the worst or Final Fantasy X-2.

Don't you dare rip on IX. That's actually a fine game, and X-2 isn't bad considering it was screwed from the beginning. Square doesn't do direct sequels well.

I still maintain that VIII is by far, the best. I can barely stand FF II though. Strange a** system.

One, one reason I don't acknowledge Final Fantasy 9 as part of the main series because it didn't have a sword.
FF7 had the Buster Sword, FF8 had the Gunblade, and I'm pretty sure even sucky Tidus had a sword in crappy FF10.
Was there a sword in FF9? No, it had a guy with a tail.
And on top of that, I thought it sucked. So if you quit putting down my Crystal Chronicles, I'll stop putting down your precious FF(.
As for FF X-2 and even FFX, they both suck and I wish Tidus had never been created.

The story for X was interesting. Tidus himself was a bad character.
And for the record, IX did dual short swords. Your logic is flawed.

@Haru: FF9 was a blast from the past. It was a reminder that Final Fantasy STARTED with crazy little beasts and other insane things like it and that it it's creators never forgot that. Honestly I hated FF-7 and 8. And though I still enjoy the games I like FF1-6 the most. They changed the game too much for me. I liked the older stuff. I want to see swords and fantasy again.

It does too! Zidane started off with a sucky dagger! And then later he has to buy a sword that is not even a sword!
Cloud started off with his Buster Sword and Squall started off with his Gunblade!
The crap Zidane has to buy later is basically a staff with two daggers on either end. Or basically one of those kayak paddles!
