"This is a ridiculous building." Kai informed Kal and the guards who were escorting them. They had been walking for some time and the younger of the twins was quite over the whole experience. This place was humid and hot and wet and he really didn't like it. Kal, however, was thinking this was very similar to his first home and it was making him homesick "Don't be silly, Kai. It's not nearly as ridiculous as the first." The twins paused to watch a group of younger.....they supposed shinobi was not the right term any more. Chakra adept, was the term, wasn't it? So they watched the young adepts either prepare to fight, debate training or try to figure out who was wearing the best shirt. The group consisted of two girls and a boy? Two boys and a girl? Neither brother was very good at gender detailing at the moment but some had white hair and some had gray. A very colorless group, it seemed.
Their clothes marked them as outsiders but as they watched the group, Kal realized that perhaps they weren't as different in terms of fashion as they assumed. Granted, being twins set them apart plenty. Choosing to just watch and observe this new group they were being thrust into, the twins sat. It was like watching a mirror as they folded at the same time, putting one hand out to brace themselves at the same time and, once seated, they adjusted their jackets in the same way. And the entire time, neither released the arm of the other, remaining in contact the entire way. Very strange.

-----[ I ]t would appear that the other boy had to consider his options before responding, and somehow, Ydar found himself appreciating this choice of action. Given that he knew nothing of either Ydar nor Deborah a hasty acceptance of offered help would be ill advised, even if he had been the instigator of such friendliness. Before he could continue communication into a more friendly, and potentially intriguing situation, the doors to the facility clicked as they were forced wide. From their speed of the opening swing it could be suggested that those who entered were at home here, and from the rigidity in regards to the mirrored movements of the doors it would mean those opening them were military. Instructors, perhaps? However, the thought was cast his mind as two men, twins from the looks of them, entered between the outstretched arms of two guards. Military though they might be, the amount of attention they gave the two was obvious in its lack. These two were important. Odd, that.

-----At first Ydar kept himself still, pretending to not notice and instead keeping his eyes upon the blue haired boy. Yet there was no means of ignoring their words, voices raised in private communication that was meant for all to catch. Ignoring it would prove too impossible to even act to, and so he allowed his gaze to swivel to the two intruders. What else could they be, with such an honor guard to guide their way? The two sat as one, a mirrored reflection of something even more than military discipline could ever bestow. Nothing moved in conjunction like that, not without a serious level of dedication and years of training as one mind, one soul. While it wasn't impossible, it was improbable, and so he kept the possibility filed away near at hand. Nodding to the blue hair male, he gestured over to the new items of interest with an open hand. "If you pardon me, I would like to speak to our new guests and welcome them!" While phrased as a request of permission polite society might well understand that it was a mere formality, and nothing more. How the boy reacted would give away a small nuance he could use to his own advantage. Bowing low, one arm pressed horizontally against his back while its twin touched the front, Ydar straightened and moved to the two with feigned grace. As per usual, the fact that he was doing something that he knew nothing about would be the impression he chose to give: each step, while moved with fluid grace, was placed wrong and every other step seemed to fall out of the measured pace he fought for. Someone who was inept, and trying to impress.

-----When the guards' eyes moved to him the Genin stopped and bowed low, taking not a single step more. Bowing from the waist with a posture mirroring what he had utilized with the blue haired boy, Ydar stopped at just the right height before straightening once more. With a smile, the boy met the eyes of first one, and then the other, before finally speaking with hands clasped before him in clear modesty. "Greetings! Welcome to our training facility. My name is Ydarihan Malakzdar, a Genin of Otogakure no Sato. Might I have the pleasure of your names?" The fact that he was a foreigner would be immediately recognizable. A foreigner to a language was the only reason someone would speak with a complete lack of colloquialism.

Kal and Kai watched without any apparent interest as the tall white haired boy came over, their heads lifting only slightly to meet his gaze as he met theirs. Kai leaned in closer to Kal, his elbow squeezing Kal's, watching the young man. The guards didn't move, remaining still, while Kal decided how to respond to young man. With both twins watching Ydar now, the young man would notice that it wasn't just their movements that were identical. Every inch of them was identical. Kal had a few discolored scars along his collarbone but they were mostly obscured by his clothing. That was the only difference "I'm Kal." "I'm Kai." they responded one after the other "Also genin but by designation, not skill level." Kal said, lifting his free hand to point at himself. Their gloves were opposite, Kal had two fingers and his thumb covered with the middle two fingers exposed. Kai had the middle two fingers and his thumb covered with his index and pinky finger exposed "Not genin. No chakra." Kal continued, moving his finger to point at Kai who gave Ydar a smile. The twins didn't stand but they both inclined their heads, this time purposefully out of synch with Kai first and Kal second "Why did you talk to us?" Kai asked, his expression beginning to open into curiosity. Kal appeared to close up with disinterest, going back to watching the others in the academy.

I want to see it all burn.

[x] The girl quickly declined my request but the white-haired male quite eagerly accepted. The way he moved was... strange to say the least. Like there were a few screws loose up top. And I couldn't honestly tell if he was being genuine or acting the fool. Some people did that to better fit in; I was no exception. A twinge of a smile touched my lips at his enthusiasm though.

The presence of others entering the room drew my attention to the doorway. Apparently this was a popular place. Well, it made sense, since this was where most training was done. But I immediately recognized them as the twins from the president's office, who had caused the man to lose whatever composure he had and convince me of just how horrid this place was. I was beginning to think no one in this hellhole was right in the head, and the pair of twins made me feel no better. Maybe it was in the way they carried themselves, but I didn't trust them. My white-haired friend, on the other hand didn't seem to have any qualms with them and, before I had a chance to act on my training, he volunteered to go and greet the newcomers. That meant I needed to figure this out fast.

The entire purpose of the clan was to give a person the ability to make spiritual connections with another and through that connection support them in combat. Thanks to my past, my health and my body were in shambles. Physical combat was something I had to avoid whenever possible, which is why I took the scroll I was offered and ran with it when I had the chance. All it took was a single touch to activate, and those I made my connection with were non the wiser about its presence. That was where my personal ability to use both helpful and harmful healing techniques through that link came into play.

But first, I needed to make the connection. As my volunteer stood straight from his gracious bow, I placed a hand firmly but comfortingly on his shoulder before stepping out of the way to let him pass.
    "Thanks!"
    [Mukei Enko
    LEARNED]

The link went flawlessly, and I turned to watch as the young man made his way over to the twins, who introduced themselves as Kal and Kai. My partner's name was Ydarihan, apparently, since he hadn't introduced himself to me. Not that I particularly minded. While they were busy I could focus on figuring out these techniques. The second one on my list was a technique used to extend the range of the Mukei Enko up to four times. Normally, its range was only a mile, but by expending additional chakra, I could extend the range to up to four. Of course, with him being all of about ten feet away, there was no real way to test the ability. I was confident enough in what I knew about how chakra worked, though , to trust the success when I used it. Easing through the few hand seals required for the technique, I settled with just that to learn it rather than wasting my strength.

-----[ G ]rateful in some small way for the touch of his short-lived companion, and the assurance that came with such a glancing contact. However, for him to be successful in learning about the twins before him all attention would need to be turned to the two and their silent witnesses. Both parts of the pair seemed a mirror of the other, each a piece of the mold to complete the set. Cast from the same clay, as it were. Odd, for few could move the way they did, unless...ah, yes. Their minds were linked. It was the only clear possibility, for no human moved as they did without a perfect understanding and near cellular communication with one another. Odd, to find such an outlier in a village where differences were not only actively segregated but stamped out. But that wasn't what caught the boy's attention, truly. No, it was the words the pair spoke, the movements they made, the play of muscles and gyrations that frequented such movements as they made. One need not look closely to tell that this man bore a skill level clearly above his own, and from the way those two guards seemed to hawkishly observe him it was clear there was at the very least a political reasoning for it as well.

-----Sighing internally, hidden behind walls of solitude, the Genin brought his hands out from behind his back and placed them against his chest, using one hand to rub his chin thoughtfully while the other gripped tight his elbow. How best to answer as he pretended to think quite hard about why he had come over in the first place. As he did so, against his own knowledge, the fur belt he wore around his waist twitched, and began to unwrap itself from around his waist. Slowly the dark, golden brown tail of a primate slithered out from its held position until it was entirely uncoiled, the tip rearing back as if it were some sort of menacing snake as it slowly moved side to side, casing the location to strike. Finally, the Genin smiled further, the creases of thought between his eyes vanishing as he lowered his hands to his hips. "Honestly? You are new here, a disturbance in the otherwise tranquil atmosphere that our saviors have so graciously created for us." The words, sincere, would likely be overlooked, for Ydar made no secret of his love of the United Hidden Villages that 'saved' their village from economic ruin and obscurity. That it was all horse s**t was impossible for anyone to know.

Kal maintained his disinterested expression, examining the rest of the room around him. Kai, on the other hand, watched the furry thing move about Ydarihan's waist with a curious tilt to his head. Tranquil? Really...so this boy thought that they were blind to the way the UHV interacted to the rest of the world "Really..." Kai said, a bit of Kal's sarcasm leaking into his voice. Kal, on the hand, was trying to hide a laugh at the absurdity of the words 'tranquil' and 'savior' being used to describe the UHV. But what to say...how should they react to this boy? Was he being serious? If so, what was the point of saying anything? If they wanted to last in this village, to accomplish their goals, showing their hand now would be akin to putting a knife through their eye "You're correct, we are new. We hail from Kumo originally, Kiri most recently." Kai said finally then corrected himself "At least, Kal does. I have mainly lived in the towns between those villages." Kal finally reentered the conversation by dropping his head onto Kai's shoulder to watch Ydarihan sideways. That they were a disturbance clearly didn't bother either twin "Don't you think it's rude to call us a disturbance? All we're doing is sitting here. We've already been shrieked at by your most gracious supreme holy-high-horsey-ness lord Horace." Kal mused, delivering what might have been an insult in a very calm and 'poor us' manner.

-----[ T ]ilting his head the other direction, Ydar looked to actively take an interest in Kai and Kal's words, his expression becoming one of bemused wonder. However, the instant the words turned towards the tone of curious insults the genin sighed and lowered his head in defeat, arms falling to his sides in melodramatic tragedy. Yet as he assumed the posture internally he considered the words piece by piece, especially the insult directed specifically at the President. Horace was a monster, a creature bent on suppression and hatred rather than inclusion and peace. It was a tale as old as time itself, and the very reason being like himself existed. The arrogance and savagery the president dished out on a regular basis left no room for anyone to believe he was anything but mad.

-----Ydar itched to bring Justice Pure to the monstrosity.

-----Sighing, raising his eyes to the twins, his lips parted but a hair's breadth before the tail that had been menacing him suddenly lashed out, smacking the poor, innocent boy with what amounted to enraged tenacity. Crying out, ducking his head with one hand massaging the point of contact to assuage the pain, the genin turned to stare at the tail with venom clear in his expression. Instantly he fired off a line of words in a language that sounded entirely alien before reaching out with one hand and smacking it across it's 'face'. Turning and resuming a more relaxed, calm stance as if nothing out of the ordinary happened while his tail swayed drunkenly before shaking itself and returning to the 'casing' maneuver, Ydar picked up where he left off. "I apologize for any unintended slights that might have been conveyed. Where I come from it is customary to speak the truth in all things, for through lies are the world's people made worse. Lives may be ruined with lies, and Justice dodged." The capital he placed on Justice was clear, as if he spoke of a deity, an entity of some sort.

I want to see it all burn.

[x] Now that the basics were down, I moved onto the proper techniques, the ones that affected Ydar to his advantage. First on the list was actually not among them, however, it was simply a technique that allowed me to see the strings that connected me to my ally. This was an easy one on understand; flipping through the hand seals required for the jutsu, chakra gathered behind my eyes. I blinked, and had to blink a second time for my vision to adjust to the sudden brightness the sun cast into the room. The room's windows revealed nothing but white hot light, but I could follow the azure chakra that linked me to Ydar standing some ten feet away. The technique could definitely come handy down the line.
    [Mukei Joukei
    LEARNED]

Next up was one that my partner would likely notice, and would probably be useful to him. It was a technique that bolstered one's defenses. Although not a perfect shield, it helped prevent some attacks that could be fatal from, well, becoming fatal. Something I wished I could use on myself, but, alas, making a spiritual connection with myself was impossible. First, I ran through the few hand signs the jutsu called for, making sure I had them down before I put any energy into actually using it. Since my link was already established, that part was already in play. So I took a deep breath and repeated the seals once more, pumping chakra into it. My vision of the line still active, I watched the effect take hold of Ydar. I couldn't help being curious how it felt. Maybe a tightening of muscles, or a thickening of the skin. Or maybe my companion wouldn't feel anything at all. In the end it didn't really matter.
    [Konton: Sou no Suji
    LEARNED]

The next boost on my list was very similar in concept to the previous one. However, instead of increasing one's natural defenses, it made the shinobi faster, allowing them to push their muscles past their known limits. The best part was that it could stack with other buffs, such as the one I'd just used on the white-haired young man. Sliding through the signs with ease now that I was a bit warmed up, I sent chakra through the link to Ydar. Once more it brought up the curiosity of what my abilities felt like to him, what affect they actually had, but he was busy with his conversation and I wasn't going to interrupt. Instead I watched silently for reactions.
    [Konton: Usagi no Ashi
    LEARNED]

There were a series of four techniques in the Seirei no Hogosha clan relating to pain. The first of them I needed to learn was Jisan Itami, Taking Pain. The purpose of the ability was to redirect injury away from my companion to me. Although that wasn't something I ideally wanted, mild amount of pain was nothing I wasn't familiar with, what with my body screwed to all hell. I got a laugh every time I met with a new doctor; the moment they saw my innards they wondered how I was alive. I did as well, but that wasn't the point. The point was something small was something I could handle. Too great, however, we would have problems. Of course, in this situation, about all I had to redirect was the... tail? Evidently Ydar had a tail. Strange, but not the strangest thing I'd encountered. Either way, since the thing apparently had a mind of its own, I took advantage of it smacking him upside the head, relieving him of the small amount of hurt inflicted on himself so he would feel nothing but the pressure of it.
    [Jisan Itami
    LEARNED]

Second was Bunpai Itami, Giving Pain. The opposite of the former ability, this divided injury between my links. Although I was forced to keep some of the soreness, around eighty-percent of it was spread among the spiritual connections. Well...the only real way to test this was to provide Ydar with a sharp stab to make him flinch. Pulling a senbon from my jacket pocket, I frowned slightly and gave myself a quick jab to the back of the hand. It stung instantly, and it took all my willpower not to cringe as I strung out the jutsu and delivered it to him. I'm sure it was a gift he'd appreciate, given that I barely knew the man. Hopefully he'd just brush it off. Hopefully.

"Where we come from, lies keep you alive." Again, the twins demonstrated a creepily identical response. Speaking in the same tone, with the same expression and only their actions while they spoke were different. Kal flicked some invisible dust from his knee while Kai rubbed a finger along the bridge of his nose. Justice dodged...geez but this one wasn't going to be someone Kal would trust. He stood suddenly and turned to the startled Kai, who clearly hadn't expected him to stand, and pulled his twin to his feet before looking at Ydar "We're not insulted." Kai said, frowning as Kal started to wander about, his soft shoes making no noise as he started down the perimeter of the room "But we don't want to be marked as a disturbance. We'd rather no one know we are in this village...he did not leave Kiri on good terms." Kai turned slightly to watch Kal walk, his expression hard to read.

-----[ T ]here was more to this than he knew. the energy crackled around him, his core calling out of the hidden depths left unspoken. These two hid something, and something about the other....there was a sense of falsity to them both, one more than other, yet what did it mean? Were these two dangerous? The consideration came across suddenly, a lance of warning through his mindscape, and yet he knew there was nothing he could do but watch. At the rapid ascension of the twins to standing positions Ydar hastily stepped back, hands coming up with fingers and palms splayed in innocence. Before he could utter words of supplication as a means of escaping what might well have become an act of vengeance, the twin known as Kai spoke up at the twin, Kai, moved away, explaining that Kirigakure no Sato and themselves had not left on good terms. Odd, given what he knew of their illustrious leader, to allow someone from another village here. Suddenly the guards made sense, the hawkish diligence of his escorts and the keen attention they kept to their weapons. Yes, this was someone of importance, someone who, if handled properly, may become an ally.

    -----Yet...

-----The haze of lies came from this man not unlike the smog of a burning censure, a room filled with more smoke than air. It burned his lungs and singed his nostrils, but he saw through the pain to the heart of the matter: people lied, and not always for bad reasons. "I can understand as much as I suppose anyone can, I suppose, though in my case I was taken from my home, instead of choosing!" The words did not come out sadly, but instead were followed by an awkward laugh as Ydar rubbed the back of his skull in an attempt to diffuse the situation. "I apologize for my rude words, I still struggle to understand the niceties and customs of your language. The colloquial meanings of your words continues to elude me." Bowing his head, a sweat drop forming upon his brow, the gentleman waited for forgiveness.

Standing near the edge of the room, Kal looked lazily around the room without making eye contact with his twin. Kai's expression went from unreadable to a deep frown, irritated with his twin's behavior, but he turned his attention back to Ydar "You understand nothing." Kai said, his tone polite but chilly, turning slightly so that he could keep an eye on Kal "You're young...someday you'll see that leaving can be worse than being taken. And that the consequences can be devastating." his words were quiet but the sorrow in his eyes was for his twin, not himself. Shaking his head, Kai stepped back from Ydar a single step "You-" he stopped as Kal suddenly started to return, walking back to his twin. His lips slimmed into a straight line as Kal rejoined him, hands reaching for each other until their fingertips touched lightly "Bored?" Kai said snarkily, his tone displaying his irritation with Kal's choice to walk off. They weren't used to being...separate and distance didn't make it any easier, even if it was just a little. Kal dropped his chin slightly, his expression unreadable but it seemed to appease Kai who turned back to Ydar "Ignorance isn't something to apologize for. If you're rude, I'll tell you. Or he'll hit you." Kai nodded at Kal who shrugged slightly in agreement "I don't tolerate rudeness." he agreed but without knowing the context of the previous conversation, Kal just peered at Ydar "What are your skills?" he asked. His tone was strange now, friendly but authoritative as if he expected a response promptly and respectfully. Kai took this moment to turn slowly on the spot, looking around the room as well and watching the other person in the room.

-----[ H ]ostility, an echo of pain from a past he could not know. These were obvious from the few words and tone inflections in his tones, something that Ydar picked up quite well. This also showed him that his continued vein of inquiry would end only in violence done upon his body, which, though it might serve his image well, would cause irreparable damage to any chance of an alliance with the strangers from Kirigakure no Sato. Taking a slow, deep breath, the young boy turned to look at the two older males, his expression a mix of absolute obedience and an odd sense of embarrassment at his willingness. A facade, nothing more. Head bowed, eyes downcast, Ydar stood at attention in the stance of someone pretending to be a soldier. "I...Am good at nothing. I am rather adept at performing acts of humorous delight, but other than that?...I must say, I do not know. I spend much of my time trying to figure that out."

Both twins looked at him as Ydar appeared to pay attention to them. Neither, however, was fooled by any of what he displayed. Good at nothing? Doubtful. Kai leaned in to Kal as they considered Ydar's comments and his expression, appearing to try and merge into his twin. Kal reacted similarly and returned the pressure as Kai dropped his chin onto Kal's shoulder. Their hair mixed as words were contemplated and the mixutre revealed slight flaws in the color. While it was mostly a faded red and pink, bits of silver and white appeared randomly half way through the colors, unnaturally placed. It was as if their hair had been colored by someone with a heavy hand and a lot of paint. But it was also clearly stained this red color and would, likely, never return to its original color "We had a sense of humor once." Kai mumbled into Kal's shoulder, his eyes drooping in a sleepy manner. Kal reached up and touched Kai's face with a gloved finger, tracing the arch of bone under his twin's eye "..." Kal continued his silence, eyes tracing Ydar's form. It wasn't with mere curiosity that Kal eyed him though. A skill uniquely his own, Kal was memorizing everything about Ydar and what made him unique, from the younger man's height and weight to the set of his chakra and the build of his body. In the time this conversation had taken place, he'd determined several things about Ydar "Half truths and deceptions..." Kal muttered as his gaze left Ydar with a sigh. The whole of this village was built on such a thing "If you do not know, then I want to know." Kal said firmly, turning to Kai as his twin lifted his chin, their opposite shoulders touching slightly as Kal turned his back on Ydar "We propose a challenge." Kai was watching Ydar while Kal was looking at their guards but the twin's were speaking together again. In sync, their voices raised in equal pitch and matched without fail as if it was one voice "You and Kal shall spar, an even match as Kal shall not use anything you could not defend against. Land a strike on him, he will give you an honest and open answer to a single question without reparation. Without harm." they clarified, amusement ringing at the end "If Kal lands a strike upon you, he will reserve the right to request something of you at any time. It will be something of little importance, never a danger to your life, but it will be called in when he chooses." they turned their heads to one eye each was watching him, Kal's right and Kai's left, neither expression anything other than singular boredom "If you accept, we request an outdoor arena. We don't wish to harm the interior of this...lovely building." the last was by Kai alone, his distaste for the strangeness of the academy coming through. Kal turned back to Ydar fully, slowly spinning on his heel until he faced him "Well? A chance to see what you're good at. And a chance to see if I am still capable of a good fight." his tone was oddly bored and mocking at the same time.

-----[ S ]o, it seemed that it took little time at all for Ydar to find himself in a situation that caught him between his oath, and his mission. To keep to the truth, to keep himself on the path of Justice Pure, required that he not hold back in a challenge and bring all he had to bare. And yet...doing so would show his supervisors that the facade he had shown unto the world was just that. Skirting the Oaths as he did brought him closer to Justice Wroth, and that meant simply he had to not step too far into one or the other. Not now, not ever, lest he threaten his very soul. So it came to the question of action, and that was something that tore him to extremes.

-----And so it was that the genin sighed internally, silently, before raising his eyes with awkward remorse to look at the elder. "I...Don't know if I can..." That he had some sort of anxiety was clear, and even his tail, odd though it was, seemed to hang it 'head' in shame. Casting his eyes at last to meet with Kal's, his expression somewhat intimidated, he continued. "As a spar, I could, but a challenge? I...I am not worthy. Please, spar with me..." A spar...a spar would allow him to hold back, for to fight one must always reveal one's self. Yet in a spar one should hold back, to think and learn where others would would seek to end the life of their opponent. Yet that was not the only reason, and perhaps the twins would turn him down were they not to understand. Perhaps...he could....

-----Bringing his hands to rest upon the two blades at his hips, touching the odd quartz there, Ydarihan explained. "In my culture a challenge must be met with equal and full force. Battle is a medium of communication of the true self, and if you were to hold back...it would undermine the purpose, the sacrosanct nature that such things mean to myself and my people. I am sorry, as this distinction might well make no sense to an outsider, as all here are, but...it matters more to me than few things in this life." Not a lie, not a joke, for his words were meant as part of the Code. To break that Code would sent him careening into Justice Wroth, and that would mean terrible, terrible things for him.

Irritation flickered across the features of both, their frustration snapping out in their words "Did we not say a spar? Did we not say we propose a challenge and you shall SPAR with Kal?" in sync and without intent, they both stepped forward a single motion causing the guards behind them to stiffen. Kai was now closer to Ydar's personal space and his grip on Kal tightened. Kal had his back to Ydar fully at that moment, stepping backwards towards Ydar while watching the guards with a closed and darkened fury in his features "We said a spar and we meant a spar, why do you repeat our words like your own?" Kai spoke alone at that point while Kal displayed a silent snarl at the guards, causing them to step back warily. It was strange that the twin's previous composure had suddenly shattered. Some kind of shattered psyche, a fragile hold on whatever sanity they still retained, was all that was holding them together. That and the physical grip they had on each other. Kal looked over Kai's shoulder finally "..." he ducked his head and Kai turned his, the two seeming to have a conversation that only they could hear. Raising his head again, Kal's expression was different "You are not in your culture." his words were blunt and could have been rude except his expression was factual "If you want to survive, you need to learn to walk both worlds." turning on a heel, he started off, taking Kai with him as he spoke "I will meet you on the ground. We will spar and, in the end, we will determine more about each other than we should want the other to know. If you still are willing." Kai glanced over his shoulder as Kal finished speaking, watching Ydar until they exited. The guards followed after a few minutes.
Walking down the stairs, Kal gripped Kai's hand hard and frowned at him "You were angry." Kai kept his lips firmly set, a frown matching Kal's own, and didn't reply "You can't get angry. Not here." Kal continued, his tone insistent as he helped Kai down a particularly deep step. His twin's face fought to hide a despair but he couldn't keep it down and Kai dropped his head "He frustrates me. I barely know him and he frustrates me. All of this frustrates me!" Kai allowed Kal to tug him along, keeping them moving down so they would reach the jungle floor soon "Yes. But there is nothing that can be done now. About your frustration or this place. We are here and we must try to fit in..." they stepped onto the jungle floor and stood silently before Kal pulled Kai into an embrace. It was a brotherly hug but there was more to it than that. For a moment, they almost seemed not only to be twins but to blend together "I am sorry. For all of this. But...this is all we have now. I wish I could protect you." both twin's spoke the same words again but one spoke with pain and the other in a whisper of conviction. It was impossible to tell which had spoken and they separated, Kal going to wait for Ydar, if he chose to come, and Kai sitting at the foot of the stairs.
