Sirius stared at his friend. "You're joking? James Potter, best seeker this school has seen in years and resident prankster next to Peeves, is suggesting nothing but setting Malfoy's hair on fire? Have you lost your touch? Oi, Remus. James here has lost his flair for pranks," he whispered loudly to the werewolf.

"i have not lost my touch. Just for starters setting his hair on fire. Besides you didn't say anything." He stuck his tongue out at him. "I'd rather do something so much wrose to him but it wouldn't do any good if i got kicked out of school." James said glaring at Malfoy.

"That's mature, mate. I was going to suggest a leg-locker curse for a few days and see how he likes having to hop around like a rabbit. Or we could accidentally slip in Potions."

"Leg lock curse? That might have worked if he was a first year but he'd take it off right after we placed it. Now accidentally slipping in potions sounds good."

Severus listened, surprised at how much planning they actually put into their pranks. "Great. Now, when should we slip? We're making that potion for boils next week. Or the swelling potion. What should we do?" Severus looked at Remus. "Do they always plan this deeply? Or is this a one time thing only?"

James smirked. "Why not both? We call also have Remus look into what happens when you prepare them wrong because you know I'm dreadful at potions." He winked.
"For most of thier pranks. Not the little ones like exploding a toilit, flooding the dunguns, things like that. But for their master plans yes."

Sirius grinned. "Oh, yes. Simply dreadful. I'm surprised Slughorn hasn't kicked you out of his class permanently yet."
Severus nodded, a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach. He couldn't help wondering if they had put this much thought into the last "prank" they had played on himself.

"I know. There is really no hope that I'd ever understand it." He chuckled.
It made remus feel happy to know that James and Sirius were going through so much trouble for him. It was nice to know his friends loved him.

"You should do us all a favour and just drop the class before we all end up in the hospital wing with half our ears missing and things growing that shouldn't be." Sirius shook his head mockingly, chuckling, until the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher looked up and glared at them.
Severus scribbled his question on a spare bit of parchment, then covered it with his arm, debating on whether to show it to Remus or not. He decided not as it would probably cause more problems and ripped the parchment up.

James laughed too but quit down when the proffessor glared at them.
"What was that?" Remus whispered to Severus.

Severus grinned and shook his head. "It was nothing. Just a note to myself, but it turned out not to be necessary."

"if you say so." He shrugged. Class was starting so he had to pay attention anyways.

At the end of class, Severus stood and waited for Remus before heading to lunch. "So... D'you think we'll ever need to know about the Unforgivable Curses?"

"It's probably a good thing to know how to fight them with Voldemort around. But I hope we'll never actully have to apply the information." He walked with Severus.

Severus stared, wide eyed. "You... You said the the Dark Lord's name," he gasped. Not even the Slytherins dared voice the Dark Lord's name.
