It wasn't long before Shan felt himself being placed on a bed. It was strangely familiar, lying on this particular bed, but he didn't know where feeling came from. All he was aware of right now was that he lying down on a bed and whoever put him there was taking care of him.
While his vision cleared a bit, Shan could see the shape of his master. Wait a moment, so the person who brought him here was the master? But why? Didn't he have any other important matters to attend to?

'jeez...this boy is hopeless..' Kanda thought as he continued to treat Shan's burns. When he was done, he tighten everything to make sure it was secure then looked at him as he noticed the boy was staring at him. "What?" He asked as he stared back.

There was that slurred and incoherent sound again. The tone was perhaps harsh and annoyed, and it forced Shan to look away. He was ashamed... very ashamed for causing all this trouble. It was his fault for hating violence, and so he had brought trouble to the master's household. It was something he couldn't forgive himself for.

"Can you not hear me again?" Kanda asked the boy as he just gave a confused sad look and he sighed. "Why the heck do you make me feel this way..?" Kanda asked, mostly to himself since he knew Shan wouldn't hear it properly. This was just getting him badly. Was he seriously... No. It couldn't be he is falling in love with Shan..Right?

Shan wanted to answer what sounded like a question, but he didn't know what it was. For all he knew, it was something that he just couldn't answer. Besides, if he could understand it, the master wouldn't like his answer anyway. Nothing he ever said was significant.
Then something furry touched his nose. Squeaks, or what sounded like squeaks, filled his ears and then the furry thing just sat next to his burnt cheek. Weakly, Shan moved his hand so he could pet the furry thing, which was probably a mouse.

Kanda looked at Nezushi and tched. "Why ar you here rat?" He asked as he looked at the mouse then at Shan and sighed. This was totally getting out of hand. "You know whats wrong with him? Cause I don't have a clue."

Nezushi reluctantly left Shan's side and scurried to the ground, morphing into a human then. "He's sick," was his terse reply. "Something was probably hurting him before he got those burns. What happened, anyway?" He had suspected something was happening when he heard the screams, and now he wanted to know what caused the burns.

"I honestly don't know. I think a pot might have fell on him and dreanched him with the contents." Kanda said as he looked at Shan and shook his head. Great..the boy was sick....What the heck was Kanda goign to do?
"Tch." He said as he got up then pushed the boy down so he laid on the bed. He then got a notebook and pen and wrote on it then showed it to Shan, hoping he could still read at least: "Go to sleep. NOW."

Shan noticed some kind of white object being held in front of him, but he didn't know why. Whatever was written on it meant something, and he struggled to focus his eyesight on reading it. It said something about sleep.
Nodding weakly, Shan let his eyes close, but he couldn't help but breathe shakily as the pain continued to bother him. He stiffened unconsciously, but it only made things worse.

"Oh come on." Kanda whispered as the boy began to look like he was in pain. He sighed as he sat down on the floor then looked at Nezushi and back at the boy. He got up then found a towel and wet it in the bathroom, he then came back tot he room and placed it on Shan's face and wiped the burns softly. You better get better soon shrimp.." He said inaudibly as he continued to put the went cloth on his skin to make him feel better.

Shan flinched a little, but he relaxed and let whatever was happening to continue. His heart, for some reason, was beating very quickly, almost abnormally. Something scared him, but he didn't bother to find out why it was so.
Though his entire body ached, the greatest pain was in his heart. Why was this so? The master had yet to find someone to love, or so it seemed, so there shouldn't be a reason for the pain. The ache wasn't supposed to be there in the first place, but there it was completely obvious.

Kanda continued to wipe the boy's burns as he looked at him with a neutral face. He noticed that Nezushi was staring at him, modtly glaring a Kanda though. But Kanda did nothing about it because he honestly didn't care as he continued to take care of the boy.
When he heard the knock on the door, he tched as he averted his eyes to it. "Leave it at the door." He said simply, knowing it was the slave with dinner and knew he would do what he was told. He then looked back at Shan and continued to take care of him throughout the night until morning.

Nezushi continued to stand there, until finally he decided to speak. "He's very sad," he said, observing Shan. "Something must have happened to him, or else he wouldn't be this way. Not many people who get burns stay so still as he." By the look of the boy's face, he could see droplets on his eyelids, perhaps tears.
"Has he said anything of importance to you?" Nezushi asked, looking at the man of the house. "Did he say anything about you or about how he feels? That could perhaps be the reason for his illness."

Kanda stayed in silence as he watched Shan. He could't believe he was being this worried. I mean him?! But...He was...and he felt a bit pang in his heart..But what was it for?
Kanda looked up then Nezushi spoke htne looked back at Shan and shrgged. "I honestly don't know. He's been really odd these past few days." He said as he lookd at the boy then sighed. "I'm not sure what exactly he wants."

"I'll leave you to figure it out then," Nezushi said. "But I'll let you in on one thing. He really cares about you, in one way or another." He then returned to his mouse form and scurried to sit under Shan's hand.
It was obvious that the boy was in love, but that wasn't what the mouse was worried about. He had heard of cases where people would die of broken hearts or unreturned love, and if this was Shan's condition, Kanda-san would have to figure it out soon.
