Although, I have to say that I liked Magna Carta: Tears of Blood better. Not a side scroller, but totally bitchin'.

Edit: Looked it up... they say the story and character design is good, yet the battle system, campaigning, and voice acting was not really good.

Mana: Ehhhh, I'm not so sure about it though.
If a cheaper used copy shows up at Gamestop I might pick it up though.
With my vacation drawing closer though, I need to round up all my games. Including all my Harvest Moon games and such.

The battle system is said to be not good, because they utilized a combo wheel, which had their big moves fueled by elemental chi which was dispersed through the dungeon. The voice acting wasn't great, but I loved the campaign.

Tonight is the night we become great!The Stars will show us the way! Click Here Skip ahead to about two minutes or so. That's how the combos work. Now, the chi thing... Each combo has an elemental affinity, which will be fueled by the chi in the atmosphere. The more chi there is, the more powerful it will be. Unfortunately, it's shared by enemies and allies alike. So you can drain the area of chi that the enemies use, even. Tonight is the night we become Great! The Stars are what gave us away!
