"Huh thats odd." he said aloud and then jumped as a jet of incredibly hot water shot out right in front of him. "Okay then, guess i'll definitely have to be more carefull." and with that he started the dance of trying not to get himself boiled. After what seemed like ages he was out, not boiled and mostly in one piece, he did get a couple singe marks when he wasn't quite fast enough.

He ran in to another pod of whales and spoke with them rather briefly so he could get directions back on to the main path. The whales seemed so understanding of his plight. They were kind creatures. He carefully swam through it and evaded any predatory creatures that lurked inside of it.
