I don't think so, why should you have to supply all the gold? That seems quite unfair. I have lots of extra gold that I can spare.

Well, I just think that if I can get back the gold with little effort, then the rest of the crew doesn't have to put in effort to earn their gold back. :]
And it's better for one to put in a little effort then for....whatever number of crew members we have to all put in effort. :B
And it's not like I have to sell any items to earn back gold. It's art. So I'm not really losing anything. :]

Contrary to popular belief, we do use the crew subforum for guild events and ideas on how to improve it.
