Well, it was a more memorable scene, too. When Quark said it, it was an off-hand comment, and when Dax said it later, it was the answer to a question and there was a pause in the action after to punctuate it.
(That's what that "beat" means in the scripts- that the actors pause, like they're considering something, or letting something sink in.)
Meanwhile, someone had a question, right? For the trivia thread, right?

I'm back...after a long while. xd Anyway, Dr. Marr specialized in silicon lifeforms...I think. At least, that's what I believe the Omicron Theta colony was famous for.... I could be wrong - I've had my head in the TNG relaunch books for the past few weeks.... heart
On another note - I do remember Quark saying that line about crazed voles...definitely sounds like him.... whee

CORRECT!
Close enough that it counts, anyway. The Omicron Theta colony was wiped out by the Crystalline Entity. That's the silicon lifeform that wiped out planets. Dr Marr lost her son to it, and spent the rest of her life seeking revenge, which she got eventually, but learned-too late- that it meant nothing. Her son would have regretted her losing her career-which she did- and it of course couldn't give her back her son. The scenes with Data "playing" Remmie's journal entries, and especially the last scene of the episode- are acted very well, and the last scene, if you've been paying attention to the episode- is heartbreaking.

YoukaiLuvr Steel Sterling voyager454 series: TNG Question: What was the name of Tasha Yar's cat. No idea. confused The two people from TNG I know that had cats were Data and Barclay. Although, Reg did get his much later on, considering it was named 'Neelix.' I do know who got Spot after Data died, though...but I don't think that'll count. she had it when she was a kid, for extra pints name the colony she lived on.

Well, I remember her mentioning a cat at some point, but not that she used a name to refer to it.
