☆ ☆【Fianna couldn’t help giggling at Xiao Lan’s question at Daiki being a girl, though thankfully the Zoroark took it in stride as he was much more humored by the little bat’s remark than offended. He reassured her that he was indeed a guy and that he had just been joking around as he laughed along. At least Daiki seemed to have a good sense of humor… it was rather reminiscent of a certain other Zoroark that Fianna had come to see as a dear friend of hers. The Braixen smiled at the thought, Klaus and Daiki would surely hit it off quite well with each other if they were to ever meet up, and she was sure Klaus would love the idea of possibly having another Zoroark as a friend. She grinned brightly as Daiki said he was quite flattered she thought he’d look good as both a girl and a boy. ”Believe me, I wouldn’t say so if it wasn’t true~” she said lightly, momentarily directing a hard stare at him as he addressed her as ‘Fifi’ before giving a playful wink instead. She supposed she wouldn’t mind him calling her that too much, even though it sounded much more adorable coming from Xiao Lan. Aforementioned Noibat didn’t seem to really mind the slight confusion, excitedly volunteering to braid the Zoroark’s hair and encouraging him to keep trying when she admitted to not really getting his joke. The Braixen had to admit that she was quite interested in seeing what a Zoroark’s hair would look like all styled up, and she felt that Daiki could sport a braid pretty well if he was willing to take Xiao Lan up on that.
However, the good vibes were soon dashed as Shade rejoined them, though with Beltigre nowhere in sight that left the group with having to make a decision on whether to stay and wait for her or keep going in the hopes that she’d find her way back. While Daiki suggested staying and Shade expressed a need to keep going, Xiao Lan offered up a compromise for them to keep going while also keeping an eye out for the Torracat whenever she might be able to catch up. With everyone in agreement on that decision, Fianna gestured for them to come along while she lead on ahead with her torch in hand. She heard Daiki’s comment about how Bel would surely be able to find them again if she was anything like Mizuki, who the Braixen assumed was a friend of his. Nodding in agreement, Fianna stayed alongside the group as they proceeded further into the cave, unable to help but smile a little as Xiao Lan recalled what Beltigre had said to them about representing Team Beltigre one hundred percent when they found Darkrai. ”Of course~ We most certainly will, Xiao Lan,” she agreed with a nod, gently scratching the Noibat behind her ears affectionately as she tried and failed to think of what else the Torracat had said to them before she was ultimately distracted with Shade as the Chengshen helped to provide more light by shedding a bright blue glow from its body.
Fianna concentrated on the path ahead, her eyes scanning the area carefully as she held her torch out to try and light the further reaches of the tunnel as best she could. Her ears twitched slightly as she heard Xiao Lan loudly asking Shade what the glowing symbols on its body meant, though seemed to notice the Chengshen crouching and creeping along stealthily and attempted to lower her voice as she asked the same question. The Braixen chuckled softly, apparently the Noibat’s concept of ‘whispering’ was more like loud hissing that was probably only slightly quieter than her normal talking voice. ”Hey, keep it down back there, this is a stealth mission after all~” Fianna whispered with a grin as she glanced over her shoulder, her voice quiet yet still audible enough to be heard by her teammates. When Xiao Lan’s hissing died down, the fire fox’s ears perked forward as a new sound suddenly took its place. Was that… laughter she was hearing from up ahead? The Braixen’s grip on her torch tightened as she felt her fur starting to stand on end in anticipation of danger, casting the light as far ahead as she could to see if there was anything hiding out in the shadows just out of where they’d be able to see them. ”Be on your guards… I think we have company,” she said quietly, casting a momentary glance towards Daiki, ”Did you hear someone laughing just now? I’m not sure what it was… but it definitely didn’t sound like one of us…” Her mind flashed back to the menacing whispering they had heard back in the forest before stumbling upon that room full of Drifloon… perhaps that eerie laughter was a sign that they were approaching the area where the next guardian of this floor resided.
The tunnel ahead seemed to open up just the slightest bit as the pushed onwards, and suddenly, a multitude of tiny pinpricks broke through the darkness as the dim firelight from her burning branch caught onto the shiny things. A little closer, and those shiny things revealed themselves to be crystals… the cavern path ahead was practically covered in the glimmering rocks from wall to wall and from ceiling to floor, glistening in a myriad of colors from dull yellow to bright reds, greens, and blues. The sight of it was… beautiful, stunning even… Though to Fianna, it was more of a deceptive sort of beauty that this great crystal cave gave off, like one finding a priceless treasure in a dungeon only to fall into a deadly trap the moment they tried to reach for it. ”Stay close and don’t touch anything, whatever you do,” she said as she looked around at the others, her voice calm but carrying a sharp hint of warning, ”I strongly suspect the next guardian isn’t that much further from here...” She wasn’t sure what it was about this place that had her so on edge, but it was definitely better to be safe than sorry as she carefully made her way around the practical minefield of crystals that littered the floor.】☆ ☆

A new place… Mystery Dungeon Mogwai spies a new friend! Daphnes, Chickpea
☆ ☆【Mogwai kept his ears perked to listen for anything out of the ordinary while he and Daphnes forged their way through the cave, he could’ve sworn he’d heard something like chuckling from somewhere up ahead of them at some point… But for now, he was more focused on his talk with his partner as they conversed about their trainers. Mogwai hummed with a warm smile as Daphnes said that maybe Temperance was more like a shield than a sword, that sounded a lot like himself! It seemed the Bewear had much more in common with Temperance than he thought, and it sounded like she also had quite a bit in common with Aiden as well if the Bagon’s description of her as ‘kind and honest’ was anything to go by. The more they talked, the better Mogwai felt about the prospect of having their trainers meet each other someday. He nodded eagerly in enthusiastic agreement as Daphnes said that he liked the sound of Aiden as well, feeling glad that his partner thought well of his trainer.
However, the feel good mood was soon dashed as Daphnes then went on to ask Mogwai what it was Aiden had saved him from. The Bewear hesitated, uncertain of if he wanted to tell his partner about how he had been treated so poorly by the Void lab scientists… Still, he didn’t want Daphnes to feel like he didn’t trust him, even if it was a very personal experience that the bear would prefer to not have to recall if it could be helped. So he told his smaller companion about his experiences as a test subject for Team Void to the best of his abilities, hoping that the message came across clearly enough even though he lacked the capabilities to really describe his horrific experiences in great detail. He cast his eyes towards a patch of glowing moss on the wall as Daphnes spoke, apologizing that the humans had treated him so badly. ”Yeeeees…” Mogwai said with a nod in return, taking a deep breath to force down all of those repressed emotions that were threatening to bubble up to the surface as he gave a shaky smile to his companion, ”Iiiiiis fiiiiine… Mooooogwaaaaaaiiii muuuuuch moooore haaaaappyyyy wiiiith Aaaaaaiiiiideeeen nooooow…” Determined to not let talk of his past bring down their party’s morale, the Bewear tried to look more at the glass half full. In spite of all the hardship and hurt he had endured… in the end he had ended up finding Aiden, and was given another chance to have a much happier life alongside his new trainer from here on out. Of course, the wounds caused by his conditioning as a Void test subject would take time to heal over, and even then it wasn’t certain that they would really ever go away. But Mogwai was determined to overcome them however he could, he wanted to be happy with Aiden, after all… He shouldn’t keep dwelling on the past when he should keep his eyes focused on the present and the future instead.
Speaking of which, a sudden call from somewhere in the cave behind them cut into their conversation and drew the attention of both the Bewear and his Bagon partner. Mogwai quickly turned around in preparation to strike in case it turned out to be an enemy, though he relaxed a little upon realizing that the sound had come from behind them and that it probably wasn’t a bad guy otherwise they likely would’ve been much stealthier in their approach than just announcing themselves right away. Still, the bear kept a close eye on the way they had come as he called back in response, still wary of what might be coming their way while Daphnes seemed more baffled than anything. Sure enough, the voice from before called back, saying their name was ‘Chickpea’, apparently whoever it was appeared to be trying to communicate with them as Mogwai heard footsteps steadily making their way towards where he and his partner were. Suddenly, the sight of one of those blue mushrooms being carried by what looked like a vine came into view, followed by a strange Pokemon who waved the glowing fungus at and called out a greeting to them. Mogwai felt like this particular Pokemon should be familiar to him, he felt like he had seen something like it before… though he couldn’t think of the name. Still, it was a rather adorable looking little green dinosaur with a big leaf coming out of its head, so that definitely meant that it was pretty non-threatening, right? ”Heeeeelloooooo~” the Bewear happily chipped in alongside Daphnes’s greeting as he excitedly waved at the Chikorita, his enthusiasm at meeting a possible new friend a stark contrast to the Bagon's bewilderment. The little green dinosaur introduced himself as Chickpea as he approached them, so this was who had been calling out to them earlier! ”Chiiiiickpeeeeeaaaa,” Mogwai repeated as he committed the name to memory, what a cute name that really felt good to say. It didn’t roll off the tongue quite as smoothly as Daphnes did, but it was still a name that he felt he would really enjoy saying again and again. Curiosity piqued, the Bewear bent down slightly as Chickpea came closer to get a better look at him. The little dinosaur gave off a rather sweet, calming scent, which intermingled with another aroma that was very reminiscent of freshly cut grass. ”Smeeeeell niiiiice…” the bear murmured, that was definitely a hint that whatever species of Pokemon Chickpea was, it was indeed a Grass-type. Those kinds of Pokemon always smelled good, like flowers or pine needles or freshly picked mint...
Oh, right! He’d almost forgotten to introduce himself! It was only fair since the little grass dinosaur had so kindly given them his name. ”Naaaaame Siiiiire Mooooogwaaaaaiiii,” the Bewear spoke in his deep, drawling voice, striking a heroic stance and holding a paw out in a way to try and mimic holding a sword, ”Kniiiiight aaaaand shiiiiieeeeeld fooooor aaaaall whoooo neeeeed heeeeelp!” He wondered if maybe Chickpea was looking to possibly join a group, since it seemed most other Pokemon who were brought to this dream world had divvied up into pairs or groups of at least five. ”Chiiiiickpeeeeeaaaa neeeeeed heeeeeelp?” Mogwai inquired curiously, wondering if perhaps the Chikorita had come alone. He thought he had heard another voice coming from the same direction that Chickpea had come from, though it had been much quieter and a bit harder to really make out.】☆ ☆

Ai, whose ears were swiveling forward and backward to try and hear the strange voices, accidentally brushed Vivace lightly with one of them. Oops. It was probably fine, but she didn't wan't to bother her passenger. "Sorry Vivace," she murmured.
When the togepi pointed out the giant crystal, Ai was distracted despite herself. That thing was huge. "It's beautiful..." she breathed, barely realizing she was talking out loud. The moment only lasted a moment, before with horror she noticed the shadows crawling across the crystal's face. Piper called them Sableye. Ai ducked her head and lowered her body so she was ready to move at a moment's notice. "We'll have to go through them," she said, eyes flicking over the horde. "Hopefully if we don't touch anything, most of them will ignore us..." Across from them was the dark circle of another part of the cave. If they could pass through the room, they could continue on. Ai pointed it out to the others. "I think we need to get over there. If we all run for it as quickly as we can, we should avoid getting surrounded." They could dash through, and any sableye that got in their way, they could try to fight off and overpower together.

"Ah, Chi-Chick-pea, wait!" Dune's cry didn't stop Chickpea from bounding forward, deeper into the cave. What if... what if it was some kind of trap? Well, that voice didn't sound all that scary, and it's not like Dune had a choice except to hurry after his friend.
When Chickpea came to a stop, Dune bounced up next to him, looking at the two pokemon who they'd been talking to. Woah, Sir Mogwai was suuuper tall! There was also a pokemon by his side, who was a lot closer to Dune and Chickpea's side. "Um, h-hello too. I'm D-dune." He tried to pull in his nervousness. He'd been getting so good at meeting new people, so he thought he could be brave now.
Ulani gave Prim a bit of a curiously as she patted her head in response to her inquiry about the weird misty formation. She noted that the Florges seemed rather nonchalant about whether it was dangerous or not, unphased by the creepiness and Ulani gave a bit of a smile of comfort. Right! It was probably nothing to be scared about!
It was still weird though and gave the poor squirrel some odd feelings, the fur on the back of her neck standing up despite her best effort. However, Prim’s redirection of her attention to the pretty rocks was just enough of a distraction and the Emolga’s eyes went wide at the pretty sight.
"Oooo pretty! Like you flower!" She chimed, staring a little bit more before tugging at Prim’s hand in the direction of the rocks. "Can we look closer? Maybe we can find a pretty rock to take! Maybe the Darkrai wants a pretty rock?" Ulani was clearly still trying to mastermind a means to appease the terror that had brought them here with as little effort as possible. Gifts were clearly the way she wanted to go. Whether that was the right way or not, was the question of the day.

Noah settled in once more on Allure’s back along with the others, because a free ride was a free ride and there was a little more comfort to be had being grouped up with the others. His eyes focused in on the crystals, listening to Raf as she mentioned that they ought to avoid touching them as they might be a trap.
Really? Something like that? A trap? Weren’t crystals a normal occurrence in caves? He was pretty sure he’d seen plenty in his time traveling with Lala, but then again, he’d never been all that interested in touching them. Well, maybe when he was much smaller… but shiny things were only so interesting. They also apparently didn’t have much value. Hm.
"Wha’ kinda trap sheila?" The Dewott asked absently, still busy looking about the cave for signs that it’d be coming to an end soon. He didn’t catch as the Sableye appeared, only turning his attention back around when Allure came to a stop. As he did though, the glint of two gem-stone eyes mere inches from his face caught him off guard. "Oi the hell?!" He shouted in surprise and on instinct, spun around and slammed his tail into its face to knock it away, in turn accidentally tumbling himself off of Allure in the process. He hit the ground with an ‘oof’, quickly scrambling to his feet to square off with the creature as it got to its own feet. How dare it pop out of nowhere on him like that! "Yeh bloodeh stoney eyed whacka!" he snapped, immediately grabbing his shells into his paws. He wasn’t enjoying these things popping up out of nowhere.
Dice narrowed his gaze through his helmet, not at all phased by the guardian staring back. He’d only briefly looked up when he heard Cling call out, giving a little roar of annoyance as another one of these pesky pokemon appeared before his companion. ”Noodle! The Cubone squeaked in defiance, glancing back to the Sableye as it gave a bit of a giggle.
”No nighmare! Leave Noodle alone!” He roared (or something like that) before turning to attempt to toddle in the Klow’s direction, only for the Sableye he’d been challenging just before to cut him off, snickering at the baby. The Cubone looked up at the pokemon and huffed, standing there only a second before promptly launching his bone club into its face again. If it was going to keep getting in his way, then he was going to keep hitting in the face. He wasn’t scared of these creatures, and it certainly showed.

Chickpea giggled as the big pokemon began sniffing him, not quite used to this form of greeting but amused nonetheless; especially when he complimented him afterwards. “Why thank you!” he chirped, and wiggles his head-leaf. He’d actually never noticed his scent before, understandable since it was a natural smell that exuded, but he was glad someone liked it! His mouth formed into a small ‘o’ when the big pokemon introduced himself, as a knight of all things. “That’s so super cool! I’ve never met a knight before,” he gushed, before his attention turned to Sir Mogwai’s companion. “Are you a knight too?” It seemed a fair question to ask, knights didn’t always travel in pairs, right?
To the brave bear’s question, Chickpea cocked his head to the side in thought. Did he need help? There wasn’t anything of immediate concern, besides the whole being trapped in a dream thing, but who was he to turn down the assistance of a knight? “Can we travel with you guys?” he inquired, using his mushroom to gesture to Dune and himself. “We’re adventurers, and joining knights will make our adventure even more fun!”

Vivace jumped when one of Ai’s ear flicked her in her face, though the Espeon was quick to usher an apology. She would’ve accepted it too, if she wasn’t busy trying to hold back a sneeze; her mouth opened and eyes seemingly squinting, her facial expression was undoubtedly a strange one. She pressed her arms tightly to her face then scrunched her eyes closed, and for several seconds her body grew stock still before a shudder ran past. Afterwards, she sniffled and blinked lazily. While technically still a sneeze, at least this time she hadn’t made a sound.
The entire ordeal had taken, roughly, ten seconds, enough time for the group to enter the crystal cavern and confirm that they weren’t alone. In the middle of the room sat a giant crystal, hypnotizingly beautiful, and while Dotty and Ai’s caution of not touching it, or anything else, rang in her ear, Vivace still couldn’t help her desire to do the exact opposite. After all, it was just so big, and it looked so smooth too.
Thankfully the Sableye, waiting in the reaches just beyond the light, was enough of a deterrent for her. For now.

Prim allowed Ulani to take the lead for the sake of getting a closer look at the crystals, in this room (could you call it out?) it was the brightest it’d been since entering the cave. A quick look up revealed a hole in the ceiling, large enough to allow light to filter in just above the largest crystalline in the room, which sat smack dab in the middle. Honestly, the entire room was pretty, and was a welcomed change from glowing rocks and ghost dust.
She nodded her head at Ulani’s inquiry, eyes already sweeping the room. It would probably be too hard to try and pull a crystal from the wall, so their best bet was to find one that had fallen to the floor. A quick search eventually turned up one, and with a gentle tug she alerted Ulani to it. Prim moved closer to collect the crystal, and was in the midst of reaching down for it when, from the shadows, a purple claw shot out and snatched the crystal up. Prim yanked her own hand back, and when she looked up she found herself staring into the eyes of a Sableye. It hissed from its light-deprived spot, the crystal it’d so greedily grabbed cradled tightly to its chest.
Prim’s cheeks ballooned out. That was hers!

Glowing eyes gleamed out from the darkness and white-toothed grins split from shadowed faces. Man... Gail really wished that Jade was there. She'd run straight at them, but the newly evolved eevee-turned-glaceon found herself frozen-- at first. She looked at Ammy, before quickly darting in front of the lupup, and bending her legs. "Ammy, on my back! I can help push to give you better momentum again!" she offered, trying to keep her voice from shaking.

Luna nodded when Noah warned her to be careful and was quite grateful when Raf helped her onto Allure's back. Finally, she could set that flute down, carefully keeping it secured between her fluffy arms as she laid down. "Thanks~" the little eevee said, her tail wagging and probably tickling Allure's back. Luna had just laid her head down when Raf pointed out that some of the lights up ahead weren't exactly lights. Although the ivysaur and wingull argued over the potential worth of the crystals, the eevee just let out an amazed "Ooh~" over the shiny rocks turning the pale green and blue glows from the various luminous fungui into various shades of pinks, purples, and oranges as they were reflected by the crystals.
Of course, where there were gems - even worthless ones - sableye were sure to appear. With their sharp smiles and jerky movements, the eevee found them undeniably creepy. That didn't seem to stop Noah, though, who had ended up picking a fight with one of the strange ghosts. True, the sableye technically started it by being so close to the dewott, but... Well, Noah was the one to make the first hit.

It didn't seem these shadowy pokemon were particularly... violent. Indeed, they seemed to be purely guarding the entrance to the next level. Cling glanced over at Dice, then down, before swinging his tail around at the pokemon, water whipping about as it smashed into the pokemon's form. This one was apparently much more resilient than the previous... and now, he and Dice were fighting on their own. This could get tiresome....

When Samson commented on his age, Daemon couldn't help but grimace. Something like this had to be taking its toll on the old-timer. "It's fine... Seems we both are missing that pep..." the houndoom replied, trying to make the arcanine feel a bit better. Not that there was much to feel better about, seeing as they had lost track of the two younger pokemon. The light around the bend had also faded away. "May as well continue on..." the houndoom commented before once again letting loose a tightly controlled flame to light the duo's path. His pace was slower than before, though, so that Samson wouldn't be as winded.

Shade blinked, then blinked again and glanced to the side at Xiao Lan when she came bustling up to him. She seemed to catch on after that, in that the goal was for stealth. That didn't seem to quite assure that she actually followed through, however... or even understood what it required. Shade slowed at her repeated question, and turned his head to look her in the eye, the energy continuing to glow around him. A telepathic presence wafted invisibly from him, gently pressing against Xiao Lan's mind, requesting permission. It carried not so much words, but impressions, thoughts and an encompassing message. That now was not the time for that, and that to be quiet, meant to be silent, to not talk, and to move carefully. It tried to softly convey the very concept of moving inconspicuously as Shade understood it, to the little noibat.
Whether she opened her mind to it, or properly comprehended it -- both as what it was, and what it carried -- did not stop the chengshen from turning their attention back to the cave ahead of them, where the shadows themselves seemed to tighten and intertwine. It appeared more enemies lay just up ahead... And Shade wasn't the only one who was getting on guard. Fianna heard something, a faint laugh that tickled Shade's ears as well, and the chengshe's eyes darted along as the firelight began glistening off several bright stones.
Maintaining a lead, Shade crept down, the light of their spirit quieting to lessen their appearance, though the firelight caught their fur and armor well enough that the effort might have been futile. Chengshen like them weren't really meant for stealth, anyway.... but it was still worth a shot. And as Fianna was giving instructions and warnings, Shade focused more on maintaining their awareness, and creeping forward. They had a feeling she was very, very right with her assumption...
