There seemed to be a lot of dangerous obstacles in the deeper parts of the ocean. She was beginning to grow weary of her choices but she didn't have long to dwell on that thought. She stumbled upon a large sea serpent. His long scaled body slithered gracefully back and forth and his large toothy grin threatened her with a sadistic smile. He swam around her in circles, gleefully relishing in the fact that he scared her. He admired her for braving the depths, but still wanted to toy with her. He offered her a riddle. If she could solve it, she could go free. If not, he threatened he would eat her. Calliste wasn't as scared of the serpent as she felt she could probably outswim him, but played along with his scheme. She listened to his riddle and quickly figured it out allowing her to continue on without harm. As she swam away, she thought she heard him say it wasn't the last she would see of him. As she got near, something brushed against her tail and then she felt herself snag on something. Her fin had gotten stuck on some coral. She pulled to free her fin, but it hurt when she tugged. It felt like something was cutting into her tail. She used her front hooves to kick at the coral and finally broke free.
