Iago nodded. If it pained her, he would try to cheer up. His smile widened a little when she looked into his eyes, and he leaned forward, resting his forehead against hers.
"I love you so much, Evie." he whispered.

Evie grinned when he'd leaned forward and he was leaning against her. He seemed a little better and she knew she'd be able to cheer him up fully when they were alone and safe. Nothing could come between them.

"I love you too Iago....I love how you love me." She whispered.

"What did you end up doing to Jocelyn anyway?"

This time, Iago grinned maliciously. "You're going to love this." he said, chuckling darkly.
"She's locked in her room for the remainder of the day, and the night. She'll only be let out after I leave. I posted a guard there to escort her should she need to leave, but with instructions to not disturb me, and only to go to certain areas." he explained. "I couldn't jail her...but she threatened me, she threatened you, and she's a threat to the villagers. She had to be kept under lock and key, for the moment, so she could cool." he explained.

Evie smiled when Iago grinned a bit evily. It was a completely different side of him that she hadn't seen before but she didn't mind it too much..she was just glad she was not in Jocelyn's shoes. Iago looked so different when he was cynical and she was a little frightened if she was honest with herself.

"You...locked her away in her room? Serves her right! She's cold and nasty and horrid and I hate her." Evie growled, that woman never ceased to anger her.

"I cannot wait to leave here and go to the mountain."

Iago chuckled again. "I did. She does deserve it...actually she deserves prison but I have no cause to send her...unfortunately, I can't send her there for whipping you, as much as I would love to, because she has the power to do that...I just wish she didn't." he said, leaning forward and resting his head on hers again.
"Neither can I, Evie...we can spend as long as we want there, in solitude, only leaving if we need to get supplies from one of the villages..." he whispered with a smile, imagining it as he spoke.

Evie stopped thinking about Jocelyn and thought only of them together in the mountains. They would be all alone, free to do whatever they pleased and no one would bother them for anything. Evie traced his lips lightly with her index finger and smiled.

"We can....snuggle up in bed together all morning and watch the sun rise...or cuddle all night and watch the sunset from atop a mountain. We can....go for walks together out into the woods and bask in the sunshine all alone with not a soul to bother us." Evie listed somethings she was excited for when they were to go away.

"I can kiss you till my heart's content and not care because no one will see us."

"Exactly." Iago said with a bright smile, getting more and more excited as she spoke about it.
"There's also a river that runs past the cabin, so we can go swimming if you'd like." he added, kissing her on the nose.
"It'll be like a dream...but one that's real." he whispered.

Evie was so giddy with the ideas they'd come up with, when he'd kissed her nose she giggled. They would only have to wait a little while before their dream came true. All she had to do was be patient for as long as possible. Being with Iago made everything easier. At the prospect of swimming, Evie beamed.

"It has been so long since I have gone swimming in a river...seeing as how it's in the mountain, they water must be clean and clear like glass." Evie's eyes almost glazed over as she dreamt about the scenery, it was as if she was already there.

"It is." Iago said with a smile. "I can't wait to take you there." he whispered, kissing her quickly on the lips.
"Now, get some rest, and I'll get us some food." he told her. He was sure she could use some, at least some water, to get her strength back.

Evie nodded and got into bed, being very careful not to arch her back. She sat up in bed and looked at him, a smile on her lips from their time together.

"Will you stay here with me Iago?" Evie asked aloud, sinking into his sheets and pillows. It was so luxurious and comfortable, she loved the feel against her skin.

"Of course, Evie. I'll get some food and bring it right up here for you." Iago promised, smiling at her. He went up to the stairs and looked back. "I love you, Evie." he whispered, slipping downstairs and out his tower, remembering to lock each door behind him as he did.

Evie smiled at him when he left and snuggled back up against his pillows. She remained sitting up, afraid that she was going to fall asleep before Iago came back for her. She heard a soft click from the door and knew he'd locked the door...good, then no one would know she was in there. Evie's eyes had started to get heavier despite her sitting up and she had to shake her head to get herself to snap back awake.

A few minutes later, Iago arrived in his room again. He was carrying a tray with two bowls of chicken noodle soup, two glasses of water, and a small loaf of bread. He sat it down on the beside table and smiled at Evie.
"Enjoy." he said.

Evie found that he had come back and in good timing, she was starting to fall asleep. The aroma of the food reached her and she smiled at him, thankful that she had him. Evie reached for the water first, she was dying of thirst and it seemed to make her feel alot better. She set it down and reached for the bowl of soup next, it was warm to the touch and smelled wonderful. Carefully, Evie sipped the soup and felt the warmth spread through her being.

"Thank you Iago....for everything." She smiled at him happily.

"It's nothing, Evie." Iago said with a smile to match hers. "I would be a horrible man, and a poor lover indeed, if I allowed the love of my life to be alone when she was in pain, and to not get her food." he said, picking up his own bowl and sipping some of the soup.
