We are going to be meeting my Mother there. I'm going to fly her over and put her up in the Plaza. William and I will be staying in the penthouse I inherited. I'm going to try and teach him some things so he will make a good first impression.
I'll then take her to San Francisco and probably down to Napa for a bit. William will need to come back here for work and won't be going with us for that.

I honestly don't know. neutral He's very polite and a gentleman which he has going for him, but I have to teach him a few things to better his chances. A few key words and phrases in Italian, how to eat spaghetti properly, what gifts to bring my mother when he meets her, how to greet her… *starts to get a little tense at all she has to teach him.* He's a very good listener and that will most certainly be in his favor.
I just figured meeting her in New York would be easier. If we take her over to Little Italy, she's going to more relaxed and easier to deal with. I wouldn't DREAM of bringing her here. eek That would be a nightmare. stressed

Okay...so you're going to go to New York, have her meet Dougherty, and then you don't expect her to EVER come here to visit you? What happens if you and Dougherty plan to get married or something? She's going to have to come here sooner or later.

Do you really expect her to always meet you in New York when she comes to visit? I would think that would arouse more suspicion than anything.
