Yeah I have gotten into some Digital Art as well, Although you can create Art
with layers and different mediums. I prefer using the old fashion pen and pencil, due to the timeless Beauty Culture and Influence that it has on me,
its like an addiction! But sense I have been married I have not found
much time for it.. I am sure that I will post some of my Art soon though
Just need to get some paper, I will however in my spare time
get some Copic Markers ^_~

If you are using Pen and Pencil. You might already know this. But using an ink pen and a jar of ink. Instead of using a sharpie like some people do "cheater pen". It will turn out ten times better than with the sharpy. But it will require more skill to use. If you are working in a dry medium like pencil or charcoal. Try to stay away from those chemically treated papers. They are more expensive and don't work as well. Also, the recycled paper is actually higher quality than the standard rule school paper you can buy. It's because the paper is drier, allowing for more grip. I'm not entirely sure what this means. But my teacher told it to me so I figured I'd pass this advice along. He said you should always work closely with your sketch pad. So you have a record of how you have developed as an artist.
