Not at all.
And please hit "quote" on the question you're answering.
It's a good habit.

NEW question!

There's a place the Romulans call Vorta Vor.

Tell us about it.

This is just a guess, but I'm thinking it's like a Vahalla-type of a place...like a paradise for the deserving.... Either that, or something to do with the Tal Shiar.... confused dunno...it sounds so familiar, but I can't remember...gah....

*waves hand* I've remembered I used to come to this place. Hope you don't mind me coming back to play, imzadi.

Vorta Vor:
Not much to tell you about it, as it comes from the movie I like less of all...

It's the place where everything started/was created. The Vulcans call it Sha Ka Ree, the Klingons Qui'tu (I may have written that wrongly), the Humans Eden.

Sweet...another girl...I was starting to feel outnumbered.... lol whee But hey, I'm used to it...my boyfriend is another Trekker and fellow geekazoid (I'm fairly proud to call myself that...). He showed me a webcomic once...the name for the Klingon homeworld was misspelled (I can't spell it myself, but I can spot when it's misspelled sweatdrop )...and I got the fact that it was misspelled...he got such a kick out of it.... lol

But anyways, back to the question.... sweatdrop

Once upon a time I studied Klingon. I haven't practised it in years so I'm not sure I can write it (or speak it for that matter) correctly any more.

Usually I don't mind if a word is written in Klingon or Standard, but I get a bit frustrated when misspelled. When you have two ways of spelling something correctly why not take the trouble to write it in one of those. wink
Of course, that's the reason I had to say I wasn't sure about Qui'tu. I remember it was something sounding like that so I think it's probably the Standard spelling...

You are right... back to the question... I guess we have to wait to see if Steel considers it as answered. sweatdrop

Welcome back, imzadi.

Yes, the question is definitely answered.
Both of you can divide the points among yourselves.

NEW question!

The Treaty of Algeron had 2 parts.
Explain either part- or, for bragging rights, explain both.

NEW question!

Doctor Kila Marr was a Federation xenologist. What's her specialization?

*pouts* I was just going to ask a question...

And it's the waiting period still a rule? I know the answer but I wanted to know if I'm supposed to wait before uttering the few words that would explain both parts.

EDIT: I mean the Treaty question. The other one is a mystery to me.

Sorry I put up another question so fast (after the first, of course.)

The waiting's really a rule-of-thumb. If you just dash in and cover all the answers, it's not fair, but if you want to ambush a single question once, go ahead.

It's the treaty with the Romulans that:
1. Stablish the Neutral Zone.
2. Forbids the Federation of creating/using cloaking devises.

And to be sure I'm following the fairness rule... can I write a sentence in Klingon in the question but don't give the translation because it could be misleading?

CORRECT!

The Neutral Zone was further defined and formalized,
and the Federation agreed not to develop cloaking technology.

It's my personal opinion that the arrival of all sorts of negotiators and diplomats
in the NextGen era were in response to poor agreements made by previous
Starfleet negotiators, like agreeing to be the only power not to use
cloaking devices. Someone realized it was too big to negotiate away,
and made policies to get themselves more DECENT negotiators- keep
ones like Sarek, add ones like Riva, and make sure more senior personnel
like Starship captains and first officers- were qualified to handle negotiations
(Picard and Riker.)

*confused*
The fairness rule is that a fan watching the episode could reasonably be
expected to remember the answer. If the phrasing of the question
doesn't make it "fair", then find some way to make it so that a normal
viewing could make the answer possible.

Which reminds me, I probably will have to add to my other question to
make it more "fair".

Because it's too late and I should go to sleep soon, here's the question (And if you tell me it isn't fair I'll accept your decision, imzadi... I'll even offer to give hints if there's no Klingon scholar around)

NEW question! DSN

mova' 'aqI' ruStaq

This sentence has a literal meaning in the ancient Klingon Language. Nowadays it has a ritualistic use.

Explain this "modern" use.

And if you remember, explain the original meaning.

I never understood how the Federation ended accepting a treaty where they were the only ones forbidden to use technology (and amazed at how they managed to bend that for the Defiant). I would have understand that everyone was forbidden using it or that everyone was going to share it.
For a group that managed to create a Federation of Planets the TOS era people was too preoccupied with battles and not enough about diplomacy.
