I agree with everyone about the poor fanfics. Most I have found is either unfinished, badly written or no longer mpreg because the one carrying the child turns into a woman. I am in the middle of writing an mpreg fic and, while it will take a while to finish because I have kids and a job to tend to, I DO plan to finish it. As I've stated in this thread before, I'm a major mpreg fan, I'm proud of it and don't like when people try to change my view on it.

Ha I see you like Hiei.
If mpreg makes sense I am for it. But it needs to be plausible. The argument for Hiei being able to become pregnant is that he is half-koorime, a race of all females who asexually reproduce (most of the time,but not in Hiei's case). See this makes atleast remote sense. Though, I honestly cannot picture Hiei pregnant without laughing my head off.

Ok sorry for getting off topic. Anyway like I said; if it makes sense I am all for it.
And sadly to say a lot of Yaoi fanfics are not that great; they change the characters attitudes to fit the story not vice versa.

But I think that Mpreg is something healthy that allows us to become more open of ideas. Though... even though I feel this way I can't quite get pasted the physics that a boy can never and will never carry a baby. Thought I wish they could, it's just not possible... *sigh* this is why Kyle Broflovski (South Park) was turned into a girl by Damien so Kyle and Stan would be able to have a baby together in a roleplay I'm currently working on.. it kindda saddens me now that we never even thought about keeping Kyle a boy...

How about anatomically and biologically impossible??
Men don't have birth canals, eggs, or wombs. Not to mention the hip structure for it.
So how can they get pregnant?
They can't.
I'm not against Mpreg or anything(When it comes to writing it into a story, go for it, that's the writer's choice), I just don't like it a whole lot. It makes no sense.

I personally find Mpreg interesting and absolutely hilarious, but it is difficult to find good Mpreg fanfiction. And the explanations for Mpreg are usually even more hilarious than the character being preggo.

I would not consider myself to be someone against MPreg, it's just not something I have ever been able to get behind. For me the whole notion is impossible, so I tend to avoid those fanfics. That is not to say though, that I discourage people from writing them. I mean, who am I to censor what someone likes? Just because it's not something I enjoy doesn't mean I want to ruin it for everyone and be a screaming idiot like:
"You can't lyk em-preg bcause it iz sick and rong!!111!1!!!"
For one, I don't even really think it's "sick and wrong" it's just not something I can see happening. I mean, yes, I HAVE see MPreg fics that were set in the future or the sci-fi genre and the author did come up with a pretty good plausible explaination for a male getting pregnant... I just, could not bring myself to like it sweatdrop Perhaps there's something wrong with me, I don't know... but I just can't get into it. However, if one is a fan of that genre and setting, power to you and write away! Release that creativity, I think talent should be exercised, even if it's not my cup of tea heart

I only ever read 1 Mpreg with MattxMello from death note. I didn't like the whole guys giving birth thing. It kinda ruined the yaoi of it. confused
Cause in yaoi 2 guys[ormore] can go at it for AGES and not need to worry about getting pregnant. I guess it's cause I'm just a pervert that I can't have something like that in a yaoi. sweatdrop
But in my defense it was my only Mpreg that wasn't for the giggles.

@ eartian: Oh yes, I likey Hiei <3 And yes, that's one thing I like is having some sort of explanation for it. I've always wondered that about Hiei...though, I found out recently Kurama might have a valid excuse too (that I plan to extort BWA HA HA HA!)

Mpreg is okay, but I only read it for humor. I mean, seriously, in my opinion Mpreg that isn't written for humor is just...blech. One Mpreg story I read was GrimmjowxUlquiorra. Ulquiorra was the one who got pregnant and the ridiculous craving (Such as eating Urahara's hat) were postively ridiculous but it was written as a crack fic and it was hillarious.

I would have to say it depends on the characters and the way its written. If the character/s arent meant to be that way(personality wise) then leave it as they are. Personally, i only read ones from naruto(im a loser) because of jutsu and stuff. I guess in the naruto world it could be possible.. But the ones i have read have been quite good actually razz
