Tenshi took a seat across from Ryan, nodding at his statement. He set his coffee down before proceeding to dump all four packs of sugar into it, stirring before taking a sip. He couldn't feel the heat of the cup due to his gloves but that was okay. "I haven't been here. Like maybe several days." he replied to the question after a pause. He blinked when he was asked about dark creatures. "Ah. No. I have not. I Make it a habit to not try to be out after dark." He added, remembering what happened to him the last time he went out after dark. That man had come out of nowhere and tried to attack him. In his defense, his curse had activated and turned the man to stone. To this day, the Tokyo police department had nomidea.what ti made of it. And he had had no intention of telling them. He followed Ryan's gaze to see Yasei stumble into the building and smiled. Such a nice girl. He took another sip off his coffee as Ryan turned his gaze back on him.
The tea that the client ordered was just Earl Grey, the cup being medium-sized, though she still served the condiments in case they do need it, and the newcomer came by, asking about the job application that was sent to her via e-mail for the waitress position. Yukina shook her head in response to Hurik's question but she still clarified anyway. "The manager must have sent you an e-mail then for the job interview, then. Can I escort you to the office, Miss...? Wait, you still need to tell us your name just to make sure. We weren't informed that you were going to apply for this cafe, at least not yet." It was a shame that the manager didn't tell the employees the update yet, so they were both certainly confused on that one.

Yasei looked between the baristas with a bit of confusion upon learning that neither of them had been expecting her arrival. She was fully prepared to apologize for her tardiness, but that was apparently unnecessary. When the girl with silver hair asked for her name, Yasei straightened up and hoped no one else noticed the blush she felt spreading across her face. How did I forget to introduce myself?! That is so unprofessional! Yasei relaxed her shoulders and smiled. “Forgive me, I’m Yasei Jihi.” She tried to keep her voice even and pleasant. Yasei Jihi! World class DINGUS at your service! Yasei waited on further direction, ready to follow one of the baristas. She tried not to break eye contact or show her irritation as she discreetly patted down the sleeves of her dress, hoping the slight dampness would air out of them quickly.
Hurik looked from Yukina to the girl that seemed so flustered and gave her an encouraging, yet reassuring smile smile."It's nice to meet you Yasei."She was sincere in her words, but frowned and closed her eyes. There was an irritating tickle in her nose. Her lavender eyes turned to Yukina then with a look of concern as she made her way out from behind the counter."Um, Yukina, I'll be right back."She told her co-worker. She then left, heading in back to the staff room for a bit.

While the girls continue Ryan kept talking with Tenshi at their shared booth at the front end. "I see. So you've not been here too long as well and try not to go out in night. This case of night terror was a common place in this place, but that fact was very weird. Sure, the night is scary and not a lot of people care for the dark but it just felt like an oddly high amount of people were terrified of the night here in StarCreek. Even though he's yet to fight any creature maybe there really was a reason for his job existing. "Hmm, that's kinda something I've been hearing from everyone. Is there a reason you make it a habit no to go out at night?"

Tenshi sat there and listened to Ryan talk, quietly sipping his coffee, while thinking about what the other had said. He had heard about the night creatures but he jad never seen one. Then again, he made it a habit not to go out alone at night. He blinked when the other male asked him a question and was silent for a beat or two. "Something happened to me when I was alone at night. Leave it at that." he said quietly, pushing away thr memory of his childhood. He did not want to think about it. "So, you joined the Warriors? How is that working out for you?" he asked, steering the conversation elsewhere. Hopefully.
Hearing Hurik excusing herself earned a eyebrow-raising look from Yukina, but allowed her to leave anyway, so she was free to help out Yasei at this moment. With the two boys being busy talking to each other, the barista escorted the female newcomer to the office. "This is where the interview will take place, Ms. Jihi," she spoke before knocking on the door, alerting the manager that the newcomer was here and that the interview may start. With the door unlocked, she gave Yasei a little push. "Good luck," that was all she said before she closed the door, giving the two privacy as she walked away so that she could continue on working as a barista. Not to mention that lunch break was still far away, so she still had to endure a few more hours until she could recharge through her onigiri coupled with Yukari's freshly brewed tea.

Yasei stumbled into the room, prepared to sort out the misunderstanding with the email she’d received, and possibly go looking for a new job if need be. She did not expect to walk out of the room with an OK to begin training immediately. The interview had been awkward, with Yasei getting caught on the simplest of questions, such as “Why do you want to work here?” and “Tell me about your previous positions.” And she was certain she was going to be turned down after the spontaneity of the interview and hiccups in her answers. But she figured the resumé she’d sent using her phone and her recovery from the awkward silences must have been just enough to win the manager over. Yasei left the office, a little dazed at her good luck, with a training regime in hand. She was told to learn from whomever was free, seeing as it was only “Hurik” and “Yukina” - I should have read their name tags - on staff. She glanced down at her list of training topics. “Etiquette… dress code… knowledge of menu… restaurant layout” Having never worked as a waitress before, Yasei hadn’t even considered some of the things on this list. Preparing table linens, treating silverware, busing tables… I think I can handle this. Probably. Yasei had to admit, she wasn’t sure where to start. She was torn between bothering the silver hai- Yukina, bothering Yukina again or venturing into the back to find… Hurkish? No. Hurk… Hurik! Hurik and ask for her help.

Hurik was finished getting dressed in her child-form's uniform and pulled her hair back into a ponytail. Being a bit of a perfectionist as a child, she took a little time for this. As she was heading out, she would almost run into the girl from earlier."Oh, hello Yasei."Her big lavender eyes looked up at the girl curiously."Is there anything I can do for you?...We can talk on the way,"She inquired then indicated moving back to where Yukina was, since she still had to work.
Yasei rode around to the back of the cafe, parking her bike and using her new key to get in through the kitchen. As she walked through the kitchen, turning the lights on, she realized that no one else was here yet. She tied her apron around her waist and pinned her nametag to her vest, wondering how long it would take Hurik or Yukina to get in. If she’s still alone here when it's time to open, should she still open the cafe?
Being a waitress, Yasei wasn’t incredibly experienced with Kona Cafe’s kitchen. She had memorized the menu and she was sure she could put together most of the cute little sandwiches that customers tended to order around the lunch hour. But there was no way she could hold down the fort by herself if she couldn’t count the customers in the room on one hand.
She got to work cleaning the tables in the cafe and turning on the coffee machines. She could make most of the drinks on the menu long before she started working here. When she lived with her aunt, there were days when she was less of a niece and more of an unpaid intern. Yasei’s aunt had not only taught her how to help out with work, but how to do all of the chores that her aunt, in all likelihood, just didn’t want to do. That included how to make her favorite drinks. “Why should I pay some ridiculous price to drink coffee in public, when I can have better coffee for free in the comfort of my own home?!” Aunt Rei would always say. Yasei couldn’t quite argue with that but making coffee for her aunt’s particular tastes was different from serving a group of people in a professional setting like this. It’s probably different, early in the morning. A little less busy. Besides, I doubt I’ll be on my own here for more than an hour. Yasei encouraged herself. Around 8AM, Yasei decided to unlock the door and turn its sign to “OPEN”, confident that she could handle one or two coffee-deprived zombies. When no one showed up for the first ten minutes, Yasei decided to head to the kitchen and take a look at the pastry recipes. She had hoped to complete some simple prep work for the most popular sweets before Hurik or Yukina showed up. While she looked for ingredients, she kept an ear open for the chime of the bell at the front door.

There were many times of day that Stahl didn't mind...morning was somewhat iffy depending on the weather and especially depending on the time. Today wasn't too bad weather-wise, but the male had woken up far earlier than he had intended. having only been employed a short while ago, setting an alarm still took some getting used to. Though he set it this early the day before, Stahl didn't have work until later on in the day. "Deserve it, I suppose..." He thought sleepily, knowing the start of the trouble began the night before, getting too caught up with his plants...not that he'd do anything differently if given another chance. Being a cashier wasn't too difficult, and he'd had minimal incidents with customers, but the alternating shifts were definitely starting to limit what time he had to tend to the flowers...and he'd rather risk falling asleep on the spot than sacrifice the quality of his botanical work. With the billionth yawn to leave his mouth on his little stroll, he beelined for the cafe. It wasn't a regular routine to go inside, but he definitely needed something to wake him up and the tea here was rather pleasant. If there was something to be optimistic about when it came to this city, it was the fact that he was slowly getting himself lost far less often than when he first arrived. This cafe had, even if unintentionally, become a sort of marker for where he was in relation to other places...an occaisional stop in as way of thanks was a fair trade.
With a careful push of the front door, the brief jingling of the door bell catching his hearing, he glanced around the place. Stahl wasn't used to this place being so....unpopulated, but at the very least it meant he could take a moment to sit down and enjoy the planned pick-me-up. At first glance, now that he thought about it, he couldn't see any staff either. "The sign did say 'open', right?" He questioned himself, sneaking a quick glance over his should. Surely the door would've been locked had he come in too early, plus he was certain he could remember this place being reasonably busy when he had arrived an hour later than now. He bit his lip softly before taking a seat, one close to the exit in the event someone was about to shoo him out. Trying, and failing, to hold back one more yawn, his emerald gaze flickered around the cafe, deciding to kill a little time figuring out if much of the interior of the place had changed at all.

Yasei was in the kitchen, pouring muffin batter into the cups of a tray. She had just finished adding blueberries when she heard the bell from the main entrance ring. She set the muffin tray in the oven she’d preheated and wiped her hands on her apron, exchanging her mixing spoon for a stack of small laminated menus.
Alright! Game face! Yasei walked out of the kitchen and scanned for the customer. It didn’t take long to find a young man, about Yasei’s age it seemed, sitting near the door. As Yasei stepped out from behind the takeout counter, she fished out her notepad from the right pocket in her apron. Notepad and pen in hand, Yasei remembered that she’d left her whiteboard in her backpack in the back room. She wanted to kick herself, but quickly covered her frustration with a welcoming smile. You’re waiting a table. You probably won’t need to say anything about yourself anyway! As Yasei drew closer to the table, she noticed a few details about the first customer of the day. Streaks of his hair were colored green. Nice! She personally couldn’t get behind a hair color that was any louder than the cream-white she’d dyed her own, but she appreciated it on other people. Almost immediately after the hair, Yasei noticed that this guy looked worn out. Someone's had a rough night. Her smile faltered as she caught sight of his outfit. Is… is that a flask?? Is he just carrying around a flask on his hip like it’s no big deal?! Then Yasei remembered her… condition. Everyone in Star Creek has some kind of unlucky problem. Some kind of curse. Was his really so bad that he carried around a flask so early in the morning? He looks to young to be an alcoholic.
“Morning.” Yasei spoke softly, trying not to give the man a migrane. “Welcome to Kona Cafe.”This is fine. Yasei thought. She could be cool. She could handle a hangover. So long as he doesn’t try to spike his drink or something. She mentally rehearsed her responses to the frequently asked questions about the food as she handed him a menu with a knowing smile.

Hurik sighed as she was had awoken late this morning. Seeing the cafe was open, she figured someone had beaten her to the punch in opening it. Quietly, the little girl made her way from the back where staff usually get to the staff room to change. Of all the days to sneeze on the bus, it had been embarrassing. Shaking her head of such thoughts, Hurik made her way to the staff room and changed into her young-form's uniform which she altered just for these occasions.
After she was done and she was in proper uniform of the barista, she headed out to the front where she saw everything was cleaned and ready. She thought it was wonderful as she spotted their newest employee with a current customer."It's good for her to practice for her."She thought to herself, and moved to stand behind the counter, double-checking everything was up and running properly, as she always did before waiting for more customers to enter for their morning wake-up rituals."Good Morning,"She greeted softly under her breath.

Stahl had to momentarily shake himself out of his little distraction as he heard a voice nearby, either he had really been out of it this morning or the owner of the voice had footsteps like a mouse. Emerald eyes briefly locking onto ones of brown, sitting amongst cream-colored hair, the fact that the young woman welcomed him to the cafe and wore what couldn't be described as anything other than a uniform was enough for even his still partially-asleep mind to confirm she worked here. "Morning." He answered back, offering a light smile alongside it. For a split second, he wondered if he had seen her working here before, but again he was not a regular customer, his memory of the employees here was like his knowledge of the menu: limited. Uttering a quick 'thanks' as he was handed a menu, the male had but a second to glance at the list before another voice entered his ears. Looking over to the location of the voice and offering another greeting of his own, Stahl couldn't help but blink. "Is she....old enough to be working?" He thought. Was there some kind of arrangement that allowed a girl as young as her to work? Or was this just what he should expect to see from the.....uniqueness...of this city? It was still hard getting into the mindset that everyone was cursed in some way or another, mostly because he felt it a bit too personal to ask about each individual's ailment despite his ever-growing curiosity. Before he let his mind wander, reminding himself that he wasn't doing the waitress any favours by making her stand there, he quickly looked back at the menu. "I-I'll, erm, just have a cup of hot tea for now, please." He said, reaching down with his free hand as he handed the menu back to shift the flask at his hip, guaging its weight. He had enough water should he need it, so he didn't see asking for some in the cards just yet, nothing planned anyway. Come to think of it, what was his plan today? He didn't need to be at work until midday, he didn't need to go shopping as far as he knew. "The park maybe? Or a bit more of a walk?" He thought...planning was not a strong suit of Stahl's, but at least today he wouldn't have to worry too much about a strict schedule.
