New Expansion being released for Warhammer Fantasy

Storm of Magic

This July sees the release of a new expansion pack for Warhammer Fantasy, and when a new expansion is released, you can expect a host of new miniatures including new Wizards and Monsters, as well as new Scenery. If you'd like to read more, be sure to log on to the Games Workshop website and read the Incoming article. The email will probably go out today with the same thing.

Until then, what is being released in June? I know there are new Dark Eldar coming, but is there a release of a new army book or updated models for another army?

Some new WWII goodies from Warlord games:

Churchill Mk VII: £24.00 / €27.08 / $39.60

The Churchill was undoubtedly one of the most successful British tanks of the Second World War. Although it suffered from being underarmed, a defect common to most British armoured vehicles of the period, it was nevertheless loved by its crews: its cross-country ability was unrivalled and it was less inclined to ‘brew-up’ from a direct hit than the Sherman.

Unic P107 Halftrack: £18.00 / €20.31 / $29.70
The Bolt Action arms race continues as we release yet another new resin vehicle – this time the German-adapted French Unic tractor. Seeing widespread use in the 21st Panzer Division, the captured Unic provided much needed armoured transport to the German forces…

Morris Quad C8 FAT: Price coming soon
The Morris Quad, a lovable beetle-backed FAT (field artillery tractor) that saw Commonwealth and Allied service (some even spent some time with the Wehrmacht) through WWII to the Korean War. Soon Quads will be able to haul towed guns to position on your very own tabletop. Just what the Commonwealth Medical Council ordered!

From Warhammer Forge two new Empire kits:

Castellan-Engineer Jubal Falk and Nuln Ironsides command group:
The current commander of the Nuln Ironsides is Jubal Falk, an engineer with a flair for tactical matters who many consider destined to become Guildmaster of the Gunnery School. Falk’s natural talents and dogged enforcement of strict discipline have earned him an honourable reputation, and he is well-respected by his men both for his skills as a battlefield engineer and as their leader.

The Empire Ironsides Command Group, sculpted by Keith Robertson, comprises three complete resin miniatures: Castellan-Engineer Falk accompanied by a musician and a standard bearer. Together they create a complete command group for the Empire Ironsides Handgunner Conversion Set, which is available from the Warhammer Forge website.

The Command Group is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April.

Manann’s Blades Swordsmen Conversion Set:
The infamous Manann’s Blades are a powerful mercenary regiment owned, outfitted and operated via intermediaries sworn to the shadowy Merchant Lords of Marienburg. This gang of ne’er-do-wells gather around a core of hardened fighters, veteran marines from the Marienburger merchant fleets who are utterly without honour. They have seldom sold their blades for gold in the Empire, and it is doubtful that anyone so feared (and as born a survivor) as Edvard Van Der Kraal could keep them in check.

The Manann’s Blades Swordsmen Conversion Set, sculpted by Steve Whitehead, comprises ten resin Swordsmen figures festooned with detailed Marienburg iconography, and is designed to be used with the plastic Warhammer Empire State Troops weapons. This is useful for Detachments as well as larger regiments, as twenty infantry can be built from a single plastic kit and this finely detailed resin conversion kit.

The Manann’s Blades Conversion Kit is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April.

Lastly, an update minoris from Forge World:

Imperial Guard Crassus Armoured Transport:
The Crassus Armoured Transport is not a standard frontline Imperial Guard vehicle, but its armoured bulk and transport capacity make it extremely capable. Based upon the Macharius Heavy Tank chassis, the Crassus is powerful, reliable, and while ponderous, it can transport an entire infantry platoon of up to 31 Guardsmen, while its hull bristles with potent heavy weapons sponsons.

This immense armoured carrier is named after one of Lord Solar Macharius’ greatest generals, Borgen Crassus, who remained steadfastly loyal to the Imperium throughout the grim and bloody Macharian Heresy that followed the Lord Solar’s death.

The vehicle can be retrofitted with additional weapons to fulfil other battlefield roles as required, and thousands of these vast transports were drafted into the 6th Cadian Armoured’s ranks during the fighting on Betalis III.

The Crassus Armoured Transport is a massive full resin kit designed by Daren Parrwood, featuring a fully detailed interior, and it is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April. Forge World’s Book Design team have provided these experimental rules, taken from Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara, to allow any Imperial Guard army to field this lumbering behemoth.

Badab War Decal Sheets:
Forge World’s Paul Rudge has recently completed two new decal sheets for the Minotaurs and Red Scorpions Space Marine Chapters. Each sheet is packed with over 1,000 individual squad designations and markings, blazons, aphorisms and squad numbers as well as larger vehicle markings and catechisms. The Minotaurs Decal Sheet also features three sizes of trim suitable for use on banners or cloak hems and large heraldic chevrons and lettering for use on vehicles.

Both the Minotaurs decal sheet and the Red Scorpions decal sheet are available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April.

World War gamers rejoice, especially you Mel, you are finally getting your Churchill! I really like the Morris Quad, it has such a cute shape and format. whee

Warhammer Forge is looking sharp, though if I must nitpick the pistol used by the engineer is rather puny. The Blades look great, though it is a bit of a shame that they didn't go all the way and included resin arms to go with the kit.

The Crassus does not look all that special, nor all that effective really. 225 points for a slow moving bunker with no firing points, a hatch on the rear and hardly any fire power for the price asked? confused

Yeah, I'm passing up on Warlords resin vehicle kits, I'm waiting for Tamiya to produce a 1:48 Churchill instead.

wasnt that "the vehicle that was as full of flaws as its namesake"?

While it started out as a great big box of technical defects with a blank page manual and pencil, along with the note "please write down everything that goes wrong", it did turn out to be a great tank. It had to be, otherwise it wouldn't still be used during the Korean war. wink

If I was playing as Brits, I'd much rather have the A34 Comet.

I'd rather settle for a Churchill than a cruiser tank myself. Sure it's slow, but she can climb any hill, take a massive pounding and still keep on going.
