Almost immediately at the question, Umeda put down the bowl in his hand. He set the chopsticks on their rest, before focusing on the young man across from him. "I don't like Matsuo, Izanagi. He's... not to be trusted." sighing, the Kodama even neglected his tea. He stood, kimono clinging to him delicately, before moving to sit beside Izanagi.
The kodama knelt at the young man's side. "If the memory you had... in your dream... was the same as the memory which I carry. Then you know that Iemon burned me at our first meeting. Well... he burned my tree, which is about the same as lighting me on fire." Umeda sighed slightly, "Matsuo isn't human, Izanagi... He is a bakechochin... he tried to set me on fire that night." Of course, the kodama made sure to not reveal that he had been trying to figure out Matsuo's true identity in the process. "And he punched me in the face. Neither of which," his black eyes focused on Izanagi. "I take kindly to."
Umeda placed one hand gently on Izanagi's left shoulder. "Just stay away from him... and eat your food. It may taste like s**t... but you're mortal. You need it."

(First of all, I'm sorry for disappearing a few days. Uhm, a week... I was busy with work. Haven't been sleeping good so when ever I got a chance or free time, I take some rest or sleep. And then I got into a car crash on Friday, hehe. Lucky I didn't hurt my fingers D: If my fingers were broken I can't use them for typing anymore eh? xD Also, I got enough sleep for today. That is why I'm able to online right now. Forgive me .-. )
"I don't like Matsuo, Izanagi. He's... not to be trusted."
Izanagi looked into the kodama's eyes. It was so cold...When he talk about Matsuo. The young man moved his sight to his bowl of rice with the chopstick pushing some into his mouth. His eyes once again focus on the kodama as Umeda began to move. The moment he heard the name 'Iemon', somehow, deep inside Izanagi's heart is slightly burning with hatred. But to think back Iemon's past, he feel pity for the ronin.
"Matsuo isn't human, Izanagi... He is a bakechochin... he tried to set me on fire that night. And he punched me in the face. Neither of which, I take kindly to."
It wasn't very surprising to know that Matsuo isn't a human or he is a bakechochin. Though, Izanagi did not know what the hell bakechochin is or mean. He was just surprised of there was a fight between Umeda and Matsuo on that night. To know both of them actually dislike each other really concerns Izanagi. One is his special friend, the other is the person he...love. If he is to hang out with Matsuo, Umeda probably will be pissed. On the other hand if he choose to listen to the kodama, he know he will lose a special friend.
"Just stay away from him..." He felt the hand that has been placed on his shoulder. Looking upon Umeda, he forced a smile. "...and eat your food. It may taste like s**t... but you're mortal. You need it." And slightly nodded at the advise.

Somehow, Umeda realized that Izanagi didn't like what he had said concerning Matsuo. Of course, it wasn't like the kodama could help telling the truth. Then again, he encountered many dangerous spirits on a normal basis so... To him, it was normal. What WASN'T normal, was one of those spirits befriending a mortal without good reason. Umeda never would have gotten to know Izanagi in the least, had the boy not been an ancestor of Iemon. Thus... Logic dictated that this was probably the same reason that Matsuo was befriending the young man.
Sighing, Umeda focused on the sakura just outside the porch doors. "I'm afraid that Matsuo may be attracted to you because of Iemon. I haven't proven it... but... spirits have a reason to come to a mortal. Always. The reason doesn't always remain the same after getting to know the mortal... but dangerous spirits like to stick to themselves for the most part."
Perhaps Umeda was the exception to the rule. He had befriended Iemon... had actually become the man's lover after their relationship grew into something more than mere friendship. Spirits didn't fall in love with mortals easily... Demons tended to do the falling in love far more often than spirits... mainly because it took tremendous energy for spirits to become full bodied corporeal beings. Which, that alone, meant Matsuo had a lot of power backing him.
"Iazanagi. I want you to keep this time mind." the kodama spoke, looking back at the young man by his side. "If a spirit can become real enough for you to touch... they hold great power and... can be infinitely dangerous. Please remember that."
(((OOC: It's all good, hehe. Sleep is a VERY VITAL THING... believe me. Plus I was kinda MIA for a week myself so I totally know how you feel on that. But I'm glad you're alright! One of my other online friends was in a car accident the weekend before last, and my dad had a minor heart attack week before last (he's fine though) so I was totally MIA, hehe.)))

(( Oh...I see. By the way, is father's day. Did you celebrate it with your dad? ^^ ))
Yes, Izanagi doesn't like what Umeda had said about Matsuo. Afterall, he believe his instinct and he was never wrong. He can feel Matsuo is not the heartless type of spirit. Matsuo may be a very dangerous kind of spirit. But to a spirit like him who loves animals and tasty food can change good. At least Izanagi believes in Matsuo and is confident in himself.
"I'm afraid that Matsuo may be attracted to you because of Iemon. I haven't proven it... but... spirits have a reason to come to a mortal. Always. The reason doesn't always remain the same after getting to know the mortal... but dangerous spirits like to stick to themselves for the most part."
Eye sight moved back to his bowl of rice. The young man kept quiet and had not eating anymore of the food. Though what Umeda said about Matsuo does not have enough proof, however Izanagi believed the kodama wouldn't lie to him. If there is a reason for Matsuo to befriended him. And that reason mainly is because of Iemon, all the young man have to do is to let the spirit know he is Izanagi, not Iemon. Izanagi would not want miss the chance to have a friend like Matsuo. Even he understand that the red hair could be pretending friendly to him, he still will appreciate this friendship sincerely. He know it can't be easy to change one's mind. Especially Umeda can't even figure out who Matsuo really is. The red hair's real identity remains a mystery to both of them. But he hoped showing his sincerety in their friendship would work. All he knew is that Matsuo is can be dangerous and very powerful. Although Izanagi thinks he can't be more powerful than Umeda. Unless Matsuo is older than the kodama.
"Izanagi. I want you to keep this time mind. If a spirit can become real enough for you to touch... they hold great power and... can be infinitely dangerous. Please remember that."
Once more, Izanagi made a direct eye contact with Umeda when he speaks. He smirks at the end. "Can be infinitely dangerous you said? Even you can't assure whether a spirit like Matsuo is truly dangerous or not. What if he is not like what you think? I said what if...We can't judge anyone when we only know a few of them." Shrugged, he continues. "Of course, I still will listen to you. But I won't avoid Matsuo if he is to come to me...Don't you want to find out who is he, Umeda-san? Well, if I were you, I'll be curious and will want to know more about him."

Sighing, Umeda rubbed his eyes with one hand, "I don't think you understand, Izanagi... Matsuo set me on fire." the kodama reiterated. "Do you honestly know how hard it is to set me on fire? Me? My body? Not my home tree or anything like that, but me?"
Of course the spirit had noticed that his young charge had stopped eating... and he was going to rectify that right now. Picking up Izanagi's bowl and chopsticks, the kodama proceeded to attempt to feed the young man.
"If a spirit is powerful enough to set my body on fire, after the tolerance I've built up, then they're stronger than most. Not to mention," Umeda spoke, raising one eyebrow in an attempt to try and get Izanagi to eat the rice from the chopsticks he was holding. "That a bakechochin is a spirit based in fire. Yes, he'll have a stronger backing in the element than I, but still... it's damn hard to hurt me."
He sighed, still trying to get Izanagi to eat, "I'm not that curious. I won't put your life in danger to find out what Matsuo is. Besides... if you won't avoid him... I'll have to take it upon myself... to protect you from him."

(( That sound nice. :s I didn't get a chance to celebrate it with my 'dad', hehe. ^^ I bet he is kinda lonely this year. Serves him right!! But I did make a call =P I'm such a good 'son' xD ))
The kodama is reminding Izanagi how Matsuo tried to do to him and how hard it is to set a powerful kodama like him on fire. He felt sorry. Because honestly, he did not know how hard it is a spirit to set another spirit on fire. Crossing his arms in front his chest, Izanagi sighed. "No I did not know. I never understand about your kind. And Matsuo's as well."
Izanagi feel stupid. He likes both Umeda and Matsuo but he don't know a thing about their difference and background. Well, he knows a bit about Umeda. That is thanks to Iemon's memory which had been passed on to him. Again, the kodama strengthened about how hard it is for him to be hurted even the other party's element is based on fire. He had noticed the kodama picked up his bowl and chopsticks. Is he gonna eat them for me? He thought. Who would have guess Umeda is actually going to feed the young man? ...Izanagi wouldn't. The young man did not figure it out until he saw the kodama raised an eyebrow at him and holding the rice with his chopsticks. "Ok ok fine! I'll just stay far farrr away from Matsuo. You stay away from him as well." He pulled back a bit with his hands blocking the chopsticks of rice getting anymore closer to his face. "...I-i can eat on my own." The reason he asked Umeda to stay away as well was because he didn't want both spirits get into another fight. They didn't get serious hurt last time. But who would know how it will turn out if they fight again?

Smirking slightly, Umeda set the bowl and chopsticks back in front of Izanagi. "Then eat." the kodama replied, knowing that the young man truly needed it. After all, he'd nearly drained him dry in an attempt to keep them both safe. If Izanagi didn't replenish his lost strength...
"I'll stay away from him, though all bets are off," Umeda spoke as he stood up again, kimono clinging to his body gracefully. "If he tries to harm you... well, or me rather." the spirit threw Izanagi a confident smirk.
Being near the young man always brought out a strange side to the kodama... be it his slightly seductive side to his protective side to even his playful side. It had been a long time since he had felt so free around another being.

Oh Izanagi! Why did you say that? The young man really really really want to be Matsuo's friend. He is regret about what he had said just now. To prevent Umeda from trying to feed him again, Izanagi quickly pick up his own bowl and swallow in a few mouthful rice... He don't want the kodama to threat him like a baby or kid. But the food...It just...After swallowing the rice, Izanagi feels like puking them out. Although Izanagi and Umeda know each other not long ago, they are hanging along pretty well. Hence, there is a big change in Izanagi and he notice it hinself. Before meeting the kodama, Izanagi was a quiet, calm, lonely, sad and like half dead. No one wants to be his friend. Except for the three spirits he knew back in school. Ever since the kodama appeared, the young man live more like a normal human. More lively...and happy. It is like an empty bowl which finally has been filled up. Chewing the food inside his mouth, he asked. "Ne, Umeda-san...Can we explore around Kyoto later?" Hell yeah! What can you do in the temple? It's quite boring and has no entertainment in here. Izanagi wants to walk around since this is his first time visiting the city.

"Explore?" Umeda thought about this idea for a long moment.
Of course his hesitation in answering had more to do with the fact that he couldn't find his cigarettes... anywhere... then actually thinking on the young man's question. Cursing, the kodama turned around and sat back down, arms folded over his chest. He was clearly pouting at the notion that Hakase had gotten rid of his precious tobacco...
"Yeah, we can explore. I could take you sight seeing, unless you have something else in mind?" Umeda replied, focusing on Izanagi and not his increasing need for a lite. "There are plenty of good resturants... old hotels... landmarks... and even a couple onsen. A nice soak would be great, now that I think about it..." the kodama smirked slightly, remembering how the last time he had been to an onsen in Kyoto... he'd woken up incredibly hung over the next day. Good times... good times...
"There is an endless list of things I could show you, you know. Or... we could simply start walking and see where things lead from there. It's your choice, Izanagi."

"Yes!" It is a surprise that the kodama did not disagree with the idea. Izanagi gets all excited when Umeda list out the interesting places. He seldom has the chance to travel with his parents. They are always busy and has no time to come home. All this years, Izanagi stayed in Inaba, alone, with his 3 spirit buddies. Smiling brightly, the young man pick up his last mouth of rice. "Show me everything that is fun in Kyoto, Umeda-san. I want to create good memories here...with you." The last two words were said inwardly. He didn't actually say it out loud.

For a moment, the kodama didn't say anything. But then a slight smile appeared on his lips. "Memories, ne?" he thought on this, trying to focus on something other than his nagging need for a cigarette. "Let's get you a digital camera then, hmm? It'll be a lot better than your cell phone... and you can store more picturesque memories that way."
That was now on the spirit's 'to-do list'... 'buy Izanagi a digital camera'. Of course that also went hand in hand with 'buy some tobacco' and 'get some clothes for the both of them'.
"I think first though... we're going shopping." standing, Umeda carefully smoothed down the kimono. "And I'm wearing this until I get some normal clothes. Mine are all ripped and stained... Somehow, Hakase managed to get the blood out of your clothes, so you can dress normally until we can hit a few specialty stores."
Obviously, the kodama didn't buy clothes just ANYWHERE. He had expensive tastes. Tastes that had been paid for by Shinto temples for as long as he had ever been alive.
It was good to be a spirit in association with the great Abe no Seimei, after all.

"Let's get you a digital camera then..." Normally, Izanagi would refuse the expensive offer. But Umeda is different. That camera will be a memorable and precious item he will take good care of. Honestly, he feel bad to accept expensive gift from anyone. Not his parents, at least. To think of it, his parents never buy him any expensive gift... "...Ja, arigatou ne." He couldn't think of what other things he can say. "... I'm wearing this until I get some normal clothes." Well, the young man did not see that coming. Inwardly, he facepalmed himself. There sure will be dirty looks out there. He didn't mind Umeda to go out in this outfit, but he can't be sure what the people outside there will think. After swallowing the last mouth of rice, Izanagi stood up and take out the clothes he was wearing last two nights ago. There still has some light bloodstain on it... "I'm going out with my uniform then. Hope that I won't be send back to Inaba like this." He said, giggling.
(Yeah im feeling better now ;p Thanks for asking.)

"You're buying clothes with me, baka... you'll go home in style." Umeda replied with a smirk as he opened the sliding door and started out of the room. "And why are you thanking me? It's not like it's a big deal, Izanagi. Just a camera."
Of course, to the kodama, walking around Kyoto in a kimono was nothing. He'd done it plenty of times before. Plus, he was bishounen enough to know that the look turned on a lot of girls... and guys... If someone thought he was a crazed out wack-job for his choice of clothing, so be it. He was centuries old. He'd learned to deal with cross dressing comments a very very long time ago...
However... not from Izanagi... So, as Umeda was putting on some sandals at the door to the temple, a place where the young man's own shoes had been stored, the spirit posed a very interesting question to his charge... "Does this bother you, Izanagi?" he asked, dark eyes focusing on the boy for a moment. "The way I dress, I mean." Of course he wasn't just meaning the kimono... but his fashion sense in general. After all, if the young man didn't like it... well... Umeda wasn't exactly going to go and pick out clothes for him to wear, and then have Izanagi dislike them entirely.
BUT before they could even step foot outside the temple housing, a voice from behind stopped the spirit. "Umeda-sama, you shouldn't be up and about yet!" Sighing, the kodama rolled his eyes, "Hakase... I'm fine." he glared at the priest. "Seriously. I'm fine. I'm not... well I'm not in pain and my power is back to normal levels. I'm FINE." He had been about to say 'I'm not dying'... but that would've been a flat out lie. After all, he wasn't exactly feeling like he was dying at the moment so... that always made things better.
"But Izanagi-san still needs to recover his strength. You're pushing the boy too hard... and you're pushing yourself to the limit. And why? All just so you can entertain Izanagi-san? That spell you performed should have laid you up for a week and..." Before Hakase could finish that sentence, Umeda had the priest slammed back against the wall. "Urusai..." the kodama hissed dangerously. "I'm not some damned boy, Hakase. I don't need you mothering me. I'm FINE. Just drop it." he released the man, obviously still angry. Leaning forward, he whispered one sentence into the priest's ear. "Besides, you're just jealous, old man... and you know it."
Without giving Hakase the time to recover or say anything about those parting words, Umeda turned around and pushed Izanagi out the door. "Come on. Let's go shopping. The smell of blood doesn't suit you at all, Izanagi."

After taking his wallet, cellphone and shoes on, Izanagi follows the kodama. Indeed, it is just a camera. To Umeda, it may be isn't a big deal. But to the boy, it is a meaningful and expensive present. "It's just no one ever buy me something this expensive before. Except...for my grandfather." Izanagi becomes emotional when he brought up his grandfather. That reminds him what Umeda did to his headphone. It was a birthday present from his grandfather. Sliding his hands into the pockets, he walk behind the kodama quietly. Strange. The boy is sensing something or someone is approaching him. However when he turn around, there is nothing. It gives him creeps. "Hmm?" He looked back to Umeda at the question. About the way Umeda dresses. Sighed, "Why would I bother about it?" and grinned slightly. "I personally think you look good in it. But I don't know what others will say...I'm sure you can handle this problem yourself."
Before he reach the exit, that uneasy feeling strikes again. There is an automatic respond to this feeling. He turned around. And was about to hit anything that could be danger with his fists. Until he realize it was just Hakase... Loosing off his guard, he let Hakase through. He knew the kannushi will try to persuade Umeda to rest more. As he thought, Hakase is trying hard. He even use Izanagi as an excuse. "But Izanagi-san still needs to recover his strength. You're pushing the boy too hard... and you're pushing yourself to the limit. And why? "
"Ano...Hakase-san. It was my suggestion to go for a walk. Not Umeda-san's." The boy clarify. What he could never understand is Hakase actually said something like this. "All just so you can entertain Izanagi-san? " The boy has no idea why Hakase would say things like that. If Hakase was speaking the truth...Then why Umeda is entertaining him? He can't think of any reason but only Iemon. But then, Izanagi feel sorry for it. Umeda could be really entertaining him and not Iemon, he thought. His eyes narrowed, focusing on the two of them... Izanagi wasn't about to cut off their conversation. He waits until the conversation is over. He turn back and glare at Hakase after Umeda pushed him out the door. They walk down to the street just below the temple, Teramachi. It is one of Japan’s covered street malls, restaurants, 100 yen shops, pachinkos, and clothing stores intermingling with Buddhist temples and artifacts shops. If Umeda has expensive taste in clothes, he would want go to the biggest and best shopping store is Takashimaya on the corner of Shijo and Kawaramachi. From Teramachi, they will need to head east if they want to go there. "Looks like it will be a long walk. Are you sure you want to walk all the way down to the streets? We can always call for a cab you know...?" It will be tiring to walk all the way down for both of them. Izanagi is worried about Umeda more than himself. He may be a centuries old spirit. But he over used his power in the spell and saving Izanagi.
