Olan immediately shook his head, looking away from the fruit. The black fluid was already making him sick just looking at it. He didn't bother to ask how Demitri-san was able to stand looking at it, much less swallowing it. The question, if Olan decided to ask, was already pretty much answered, so to speak.
Confusion ran through his veins. If Dustynn knew only this side of Demitri-san, then why did he send him here? It probably would have been better if he stayed with the gang leader. The Demon wouldn't be able to hurt either of them. Why must he think of this plan? It didn't make any sense, and it seemed to make the situation worse.

"Are you confused, child?" Demitri asked, smirking as the last bit of fruit slithered down her throat. "Don't be, I'll explain it very clearly, here and now. The truth is, your buddy and my brother, Dustynn, is a very clear-headed and level thinker. He does everything with a purpose. You're probably confused about the fact that I'm evil and my brother sent you here. Well, that's because he knows that I can't touch you; in the sense of hurting you." Demitri explained as she examined her nails, which were now died with the black liquid.
"More over, you're safer here, since the Demon would have killed you." She said with a deeply evil looking smirk. "I'd say, you're safe right here in this shrine. So don't be rash and think that you can leave."

'How long do you plan to keep me here?' Olan questioned, getting a little annoyed. 'I don't care if I get killed, I definitely can't stay here forever. At one point I'll have to leave or something.' He didn't expect Demitri-san to let him go anytime soon, perhaps until Dustynn appears. There was no doubt, however, that the Demon did something to him. Now that the gang leader was left unprotected, who knows what happened to him?
It was terribly unnerving, staying in the same room as an evil spirit, but what choice did he have? All possible exits are closed and won't yield to him, and there's no way he can convince Demitri-san to let him out. In that case, there was nothing he could do except wait for Dustynn to arrive.

"If you die, what would happen to my brother? He'd turn into a tortured soul and then kill himself. Then he wouldn't come to me, he'd be in hell with that demonic stalker of yours. Oh no, you're not leaving here until I'm given orders to let you go." Demitri turned her obsidian black eyes on him. "I'm sure he'll be just fine. He'll come back soon."
Meanwhile, Dustynn was just coming through from the lack of oxygen in his system. Was he dead yet? The world was so damn bright that it was hard to tell. If he was in heaven, it sure was painful. He was laying against something to the texture of concrete, and he felt a dark, thick liquid running down the side of his face. Blood? Since when was there blood in heaven?

Though bewildered, Olan had nothing left to say. There was no point in arguing with Demitri-san anymore. It seems that his safety was pretty much linked to Dustynn's will to live. In this case, he might as well just stay here and wait, but hopefully not long.
The Demon noticed the bait waking up. By now he was very impatient, since the child hadn't yet returned. Maybe he didn't exactly care about his bodyguard or something to that extent. It was annoying, knowing that all this effort to keep the pest here has amounted to nothing.

Dustynn turned his eyes upward, looking face to face with the same Demon from earlier. The same thing that had choked him to near death. Oh yeah, he was still alive. At least he knew that Demitri was still with Olan. Otherwise, he'd probably be really dead right now, and the demon would definitely not be hovering over him at that moment.
"So... I'm guessing that I'm still alive, and that I'm not going to get very far if I run, am I correct?" Dustynn asked, even though it hurt his head a lot to look up and talk. He could sit up, but then he may get choked again, lovely.

The Demon said nothing. He might as well not talk to such mortal trash. Sure he knew this particular pest had gotten rid of many troublesome trash, but not by will. Only those who kill on their own, without threats, would be useful to him.
What really annoyed him to the core was the fact that the child hasn't returned. The kid wasn't heartless, or so he heard from the Big Guy, so there was no reason why he wouldn't return. That is, unless someone was keeping him away. If that's the case, then who or what?

Fine then, ignore me. Dustynn hissed, finally deciding on sitting up. Who cares if the Demon killed him again? Then he'd give the order and Demitri would kill Olan, simple as that. Of course, he could only imagine that the younger boy wouldn't comply so willingly. After all, death was a tricky matter; but reality was a harsh mistress.
"Perturbed? Don't be. Olan ain't coming back." Dustynn smirked, although he could already feel the shovel moving. Soon, his grave would be dug and the Demon would probably push him into it. But if Dustynn kept on talking like he was now, he might as well just jump in himself.

The Demon felt very agitated, but he knew better than to take his anger out on the bait. If he killed him, then the protection may never leave the kid. Impatience was already slowly eating at him, and it was something he never liked to deal with. He just wished that the kid would show up already and then he can report to the Boss and vice versa.
The most he could do was to just ignore all the ramblings of the pest and wait. If mortals can wait for years, then he himself can wait for probably less than a day. It's not such a hard thing to do, especially if humans can stand it.

Dustynn slowly stood up, keeping a cautious eye on the Demon the entire time. Finally, he felt for his bike, sitting down on it, but not attempting to get away. His legs were tired, and his head was hurting. Hell, it was dripping blood down the side of his face and had begun to stain his shirt. He definitely wasn't feeling good.
"Um, hey... can I go now? My boyfriend's waiting for me, and I've got somebody to make love to tonight, so please?" Dustynn rambled, making up super lame excuses in an attempt at being a wise-a**. Sure, he probably would have gotten punched out by the young mute, but everything was pretty much working out fine right now, right?

The Demon, though his expression didn't change, thought for a moment. There would be a suspicion if he kept the bodyguard, and an accidental discovery may occur, and he can't kill him or the presence that was with the child wouldn't leave. It seems that the only other way around this was to let the pest go and wait for yet another chance to strike.
"Then be off with you," the Demon replied, very annoyed that he had been wasting all this time guarding and waiting for the child that somehow was kept from returning. He didn't bother to warn him to not tell anyone. Since the pest is a gang leader, nobody would believe him if he decides to tell. But just in case, it wouldn't hurt to keep watch.

Dustrynn's smile widened on his face as he got onto his bike and sped off. "Adios!" He called over his shoulder as he sped off towards the hideout. Why wasn't he going back towards the shrine to get Olan? He had a really bad feeling that the Demon was probably going to keep watch over him. That, and the fact that he really needed tylenol pointed him in the direction of the hideout.
Demitri... Get Olan over to the hideout now. Just follow him, the Demon won't come looking for you then. He ordered in his mind, as he parked the bike outside the hideout.
Demitri's head snapped suddenly as she heard her brother's voice enter her mind. A smirk crossed her face as she stood up. "C'mon little boy, we're going home." She said slyly, crossing over to the shrine doors and opening it. "Dustynn is waiting for us."

After what had seemed like forever in what he considered his prison, Olan was eager to leave when Demitri-san finally announced that they wouldn't have to stay here anymore. Exiting the shrine and looking up at the sky, he noticed it was getting a little late. How long had they been in the shrine?

Demitri led Olan out towards the city, the eyes of the other pedestrians glared straight through her, towards her young follower. Olan wasn't much of a celebrity with the other people in New York, nor was he even normal. In fact, it seemed that he was very much hated.
"Does everybody here hate you so much?" Demitri asked as she continued to lead Olan through the streets. She knew that nobody could see her, but did Olan know that? Hopefully he did and wouldn't start mouthing stuff at her back. But the kid was smart. He would probably think his response, right?
