There were some aspects of the games we found it easier abide by rather then allow such creative freedoms. We've discussed the topic before but opted to stick to the games way rather then invent or allow others. BUT you can still claim items and pokemon from things such as the monthly give away before you get your starter. Those pokemon can be written into your characters back story as "your true starter".
The main reason for starting at the labs are to get your Dex and to be officially registered as a trainer.
And, if someone would rather manually gather their prizes before getting their starter wihot working it into their biography? Like Martel. She had to mention Maiku met his Taillow in Lumiose rather than actually meeting it IC. In most of the games, you start off at home, not in the labs.
Also, "abide by rather then allow such creative freedoms", you spelled than wrong. Anyway, this sounds like PHL logic. Wasn't the point of this guild supposed to be to allow for more freedom than PHL provided?

Spelling aside, it was only one of many reasons why we slip off from PHL. We allow for amny more freedoms but some structure had to be maintained.

I'm sure you can even get a flash back post from a mod if you discussed it with them. What? How do you not have yor starter? You can't start the journey without it. Also, I want the Professors to be more interactive, but unkess something's planned with them (like Lia's little thief and the battle plan), they're nothing but drones really.

So Camerupt's Mega Stone and Ability add 1.3 damage to attacks, let's go with Iron Head. Does that mean:
Iron Head - (80 x 1.3) x 1.3 = 135 damage? Iron Head - (1.3 + 1.3) x 80 = 208 damage? or something different completely?
I'm sorry you're not happy with the system, but we do have our reasons, and while the games having most individuals officially receive their pokemon in the lab is one of them, there are also others, such as just making sure we keep track of who's starting when, as an official sort of 'check point', so that we can look over the profiles and give the official O.K. for someone to move on and start their journey.
If you feel very strongly about it, though, you're welcome to discuss it with other members smile We can't change things because of single opinions, but if enough people feel strongly about it, we can try and talk and propose an alternative for a guild-wide vote.
That being said, the discussion is coming off as a little aggressive. I don't know if you meant for it to or not, but one reason a lot of us wanted to start a new guild was to form a lighter, more supportive and cooperative atmosphere :c And the nitpicking and arguing is feeling a bit more like an attack or demand then a simple suggestion.
Again, though... if it's something you feel strongly about, and several others feel the same, we'll try and see what we can do and see what the majority rules

It would indeed be the second one~ The Battle Page has some clarification, but basically it's step-wise, so that you apply one thing (ability), then the next (megastone), instead of combining them : ) I hope that answers your question!

People only ever post in guild-changing threads when it's put up by a guild mod. Besides, no one's responded to my last two or three posts in the OOC, so I'm not going to risk my discussion being ignored and become an insecure loser.

OMG. My friend beat Pokémon Y the other day and she told me about AZ. Since I plan on the poachers following Maiku for awhile to try and get the egg back, can I have him run into AZ and have him and his Floette help him out? Or, is interacting with an immortal off limits in the guild? I actually wish I could play him as a traveling NPC buddy, but that makes him less appealing and it takes away the chance of others possibly encountering him for their own plots.

Ahhh yes AZ, a very interesting character for sure. I have no problems with your character running into him, but please keep in mind that this pokemon world is an AU in that the weapon was never discovered in Geosenge, so while RPing with AZ, could you keep his history vague and unspecific or just not have him not really talk about it? He can still have his Floette, and you can still meet up with him and he can help your character out with the poachers, just keep his history ambiguous and everything should be fine for your idea c:

I have a question....This more out of "I feel really bad" rather than "I think this should be a feature". But, I still think it'd be interesting to have.
See, I've been in a few mass role play guilds like this, and there's always been a thread dedicated to character houses. Now, I know it sounds ridiculous since characters generally live in named cities and we can just role play them at their homes when we get to the appropriate town. But, then I read Avonlea's and Mitsu's profiles and....They don't have accessible homes. Avonlea's home is a house she built hidden near the sea line of Kalos and Mitsu's tribe is nomadic but never actually enter any towns or cities to stay because....Well, I'm assuming it's a housing issue. And, I feel really bad about that because almost everyone they meet can go home at will, but they can't because their homes don't exist on the maps. I also think it would be a lot easier to role play in a thread dedicated solely to a character's home rather than in the town thread because sometimes people disappear for weeks and threads can fill up in that time due to others traveling and it's a real pain to flip through twenty pages to find your group's last post and....Some people just can't be bothered with it.
So....Would a housing forum be something that can be considered as an addition in the future? I'd actually love for Ezra and/or Ophelia to visit the Umkhaya Wedwa camp because it sounds like outsiders are welcome to visit from how things are worded in Mitsu's profile. Plus, Avonlea is Ezra's buddy, so visiting her place is something that may happen in the future sometime. If there are other characters who don't have specified or mapped homes, I'm sure they'd enjoy having access to them, too, for plot purposes at the least. It can even be used to house the HQ places for groups like Flare and Royale.

I have brought this very topic up in the past but we based all changes and add-on's to the guild by a majority vote and as its not been something more then myself and now you have spoke up nor a major concern or interest yet. We've let the topic lay until further notice or at least until more members wish to see the idea implemented. However please understand an idea such as this would require a good deal of time and effort to be devoted to it. Personal locations would need to be tagged with information such as where its located, How to enter/exit to or from it, Wild pokemon if they would be allowed and more.
If it becomes enough of an asked for topic then the crew can and will bring it up to a discussion. For now most members act as though while in the designated location that a home or such is at they are actually in said home.
