Eosy dismissed Rain and Alicia, obviously she had understood what he meant. His eyes focused on Lily. He did not understand her comment. What did she mean? He stared without flinching at the maid.
Rain's attention turned to Alicia. He knew that face. He could feel her worry and softly his fingers touched her shoulder. "Lady Alicia?" he called gently. She was miles and miles away from the kitchen in an alternative reality made of 'what if?' and 'maybe'. He came closer and wrapped his arm around her back shaking her a little. His other hand raised her chin and forced her to look at him.
"Lady Alicia. We will be alright." he was smiling at her. She might be young but she was not stupid and he had faith in her abilities.
"Eosy and I are here to protect Charity and you. Nothing bad will ever happen to you as long as I am by your side." a strange shadow passed in his eyes as he spoke the last words and he squeezed her a little closer to his chest.

"What?" Lily snapped, turning towards Eosy.
"Pah," Alicia said, her eyes closed. "That's not what I'm worried about." She continued to ignore the fact that they were this close. When did it start bothering her, anyway?

Eosy blinked once at Lily's bark but nothing in his body seemed to be surprised. "You are a very unique person." he said, his voice being a subtle mix between an iceberg and an ice cube. "Is there a problem?" he asked without shifting his stare.
Rain looked at the eyes delicately closed and felt like closing both his arms around her. "What are you worried about? Tell me...I'd like to help you." he was speaking to her and her only. Then his expression shifted slowly to pain and his arm opened up. "Maybe you would rather speak with Lily?" His eyes seemed sad as he spoke. He knew that Alicia was close to Lily, probably closer than she was to him. He had always been fine with the way things were. He was here to protect her not to be her confident.
The hot water in the tea kettle starting hissing and Rain took the opportunity to walk away and hide his feelings by preparing some herbal tea for people before bed time.

Lily didn't say anything, just closed her eyes and crossed her arms. She wasn't entirely sure if what Eosy said was a compliment or an insult, or something in between.
Alicia didn't answer his question. Personally, she wasn't sure. Telling Lily about her worries would be inconsiderate in her [Alicia's] eyes, because Lily had other things to worry about. And Rain... well, she just couldn't tell him what she was thinking about, now, could she? Alicia sighed. Why couldn't life be easier?

Eosy raised and eyebrow and looked at Rain who was bringing tea. He thanked him and sat on the closest chair. He was looking alternatively at the usual inhabitants of the house.
Rain brought tea for everyone, starting with the Ladies and then Eosy and himself. He avoided looking at Alicia, obviously she did not want to hurt him by saying 'yes' and would rather remain silent. He also sat at the table.
The clock in the hall rang eleven o'clock.

"It's rather late, isn't it?" said Alicia. "We should go to sleep soon," Alicia concluded, and took a sip of tea.
//OOC: You know what's weird? I hate tea. Well, the *good* kind. I like the lipton green tea with a touch of citrus, but that's it.

Rain nodded. "You should go to bed and so should Lily. Eosy and I will take turn in guarding the house, just in case." not that he believed anything would really happen but in case.
Eosy nodded. He shared the opinion of the other protector.

"G'night," Lily said, and headed towards the kitchen, were she put her cup in the sink, then went to her room down the hall.
Alicia took one last drink of her tea, finishing the cup. "Good night, Rain, Eosy," She said, and put her cup in the sink. She headed upstairs to her room and flopped on the bed.

Rain sighed as Alicia left. "Good night." He turned to Eosy as if he wanted to add something or just talk but the attitude of the other protector was not encouraging.
"I'll take the first shift. Go sleep." said Eosy and without waiting for an answer he went in the living room and sat on the coach.
Rain did his usual tour of the house and turned all the lights off. Then went to bed. Sleep took its time to take him. He had so much on his mind.
Several hours later Eosy woke him up.
Eosy shook Rain. "Nothing special." Then he went to bed and fell asleep rightaway.
Rain made some tea, very strong to wake himself up and turned one of the light on to read. Nothing happened during the night and soon the birds were singing to come back of the sun. Rain looked outside, the weather would be gorgeous. He had thought about the overall thing over and over and he had an idea. He waited for everyone to wake up to share it.

Alicia woke up earlier than usual. She was sleeping fine till Madeleine decided to throw himself at her door and startle her. She tried falling asleep again, but to no avail. She tumbled out of bed, and walked downstairs, yawning.

Rain heard Alicia step downstairs. He walked towards her and welcomed her with a smile. "Morning Lady Alicia." he said gently in a low voice, not wanting to awake the others. He wrapped his sweater jacket around her shoulders and was surprised on how he would like to wrap his arms there too...
Without another word, he entered the kitchen and put some milk to warm up. "Slept well?" he asked casually.

"For the most part," Alicia stated drowsily. Mornings were not her strong suit. She was way too tired to notice really anything.

Sorry to hear that...well nothing special this is the morning Charity went to bed smile and so did the others, nothing happened during the night Rain and Alicia just woke up that's a great moment to just jump back in biggrin
