Not many do seem to remember the old ways. Just how many all ran around with an old emblem? She wore her own Wind country relic relentlessly in Whirlpool before mounting it somewhere among her possessions. After this long into this era a sand headband was at least one sentiment of the old world that still made her smile. Softly. “We get results faster and better than anyone. One way or another." The warmly delivered line wasn't a quote but rather a way of thinking summarizing what Sadayo understood was the successful mindset steering Sand’s long-lived prestige. Her smile was withdrawn as the reflection of time past had caught up with the present. ''But even they had politics and juggled tailed beasts. Yet both of those have finally run dry with none of our surviving sand shinobi brandishing beasts anymore.” This bit of news was mentioned casually but with purpose. How the tailed beasts had changed or whatever she knew about their strange connection to the Jashinsts didn’t actually matter right now.
The borders have changed, names have changed, but it was a profound relief that he didn’t try briefing her on war torn, desolate landscapes. This wasn’t the place in time to be commenting on Karuto’s exploration after the topic was shifted sooner than later. An anxious, hollowing sensation was beginning to burrow at her insides. “You’re not going to like it,” it was a cautious warning Sadayo deliberately paired beside a look of worry. Although, without eyebrows, she might have looked deceptively angry. She swapped her weight off the chair and cupped her bright, blistered red hands together, as well as she could, on top of the desk. “I can’t say why it all happened,” she shrugged. Keeping her sights on Karuto was no picnic with the bad news ahead of him. “She left suddenly. On her own accord, I think. With the benefit of knowing how to dodge us. Then she was gone.” Even hinting that Lahlil was gone was painful. Surreal, even, as Sadayo herself had a hard time acknowledging what she saw after the fact. “Slain by a pink-eyed Jashinist.” In her head, the very jashinist was cackling on repeat and an inkling of his appearance was a white blur Sadayo could recall more clearly than she wanted. She swallowed against the urge to cave to the bitter truth. Someone who believed in her- probably for her brains and determination- wasn't coming back. Another tribute and proof of the old world they loved and dearly missed was gone. “I'm... I’m sorry, Karuto.”
It was like listening to someone whilst underwater- the anxiety over what news he knew she would confirm deafened him so. His attempts at small talk, keeping up his normal spirit...they failed as the Hokage recounted the story of Lahlil's end to him. He recoiled as if struck; groaning slightly, he packed up to a wall and let himself slide down it until he sat on the floor. His thick blonde hair hung in curtains around his downturned face as he brought his knees close to his chest "No..." He muttered softly. Bast, Chie, Sonyo and now Lahlil- all dead. Not to mention the countless young faces that had come and gone under his tutelage at the gym. All of these futures were snuffed out by someone just because they held more power and, even more pathetically, he hadn't done a damn thing to stop any of it.
But he would.
Raising his head and searching deep into Sadayo's eyes with his own, he spoke softly "Where can I find this person?" A very vulnerable need was there- a deep longing to fix this. Misguided, surely, as even vengeance would not fix the problem, but there all the same. The Insightful Hokage, however, would likely be able to see past that. Beneath the mask of jovialness which had very recently slipped, beneath the pitiful sadness which enshrouded him, there was a boiling sea of anger. A sea so deep, so wide, that not even the mighty Raiken would be able to easily save himself from should he fall in. A cruel Karuto- a Karuto twisted and driven by rage. It was frightening to imagine.
His anguish nor this loss were easy to bear. It was like fate was dishing seconds but with heavier misfortunes. Fate wouldn’t be mending this death with a surprise twist. Empathy and one dark secret both gnawing on her and stirring pain into the tone of her voice, “please,” she begged, coming to her feet again. “Karuto, please don’t run off right now to fight them. Pain and death are nothing to them. The jashinist Takumi and her gang are walking, breathing pincushions who will happily pick us off one by one. We need time to prepare before we could even dream of initiating an assault.” Sadayo stepped around the desk until reaching its side. Even as he was seated, the woman felt miniscule voicing sturdy, weightless words to both his mighty form and frame of mind. “Lahlil wasn’t the only one taken from us. They also killed Saiko.” Saiko was an acquaintance who was too high in the ranks- too occupied with other affairs- for Sadayo to have really bonded with. Their connection as a sand shinobi was about all she felt proper to stand on. News of Saiko’s demise may have carried little weight to Karuto and sharing news of his death was less for tugging at heartstrings but emphasizing a warning: going alone was a suicide mission. ”He ventured off to the Wind, probably died there, to become a walking, Jashinist plaything.” An image of Saiko, the plaything, cropping up among the intruders at the Citadel flashed in her thoughts as a blur. “I know it hurts,” her fist pelts the desk, sounding worn and defeated but she carries on. Voice creaking and words daring to stumble under the gravity of loss and feeling extraordinarily powerless. “It hurts,” and she shook her head. “I-I’m angry, and I’m… af-afraid to lose you or send anyone else on their own. But he had to know, right? Withholding what she could say wouldn’t pacify him. She sighed.
“Karuto, the man who killed her is allied with the Jashinsts known as Takumi, an oni with a skull face gimmick, and a child. He is short. Runs around looking like a yamabushi monk, ready to die, in white funerary clothes. His face was black, white, and his pink eyes stood out. Storm could only give us so much information but none of it was complete or conclusive and unable to point us to where they could be found.”
Coda’s feet beat a soft pattern onto the floor of the office’s lobby as she crossed it and headed for the stairs. The investigation into the KPD hadn’t turned up quite what she’d hoped - and considering the situation, she felt comfortable calling it stalled entirely. If there was any broader conspiracy connected to the petty smuggling they'd uncovered, it had been scared into hiding for the time being. Unfortunately, the hands on nature of the mission had also put her in the awkward position of being slightly out of the loop as to the village’s special forces operations.
She was under the impression that the Jashinists were not done quite yet, but things were rather quiet. The Oinin needed direction she lacked the information for, and other questions such as Amegakure’s status still lingered unanswered. All that was before you got to the bit about her toting around bijuu, something she’d yet to share with anyone. Her plans to resolve that particular issue had also failed despite her best efforts in the chaos that followed the blood worshipers’ assault on the Pale Citadel. Coda’s knuckles tapped on the door as Gyuki wakened from his slumber in the back of her mind.

|Present Time| It was a safe bet, she thought, to never place the extent of one’s wholehearted trust in the hands of someone who wouldn’t die for you. Bareboned levels of trust were proving themselves as being more suitable to the mild-minded personnel who ran the twelve-story gauntlet of bureaucratic functions. How trustworthy Sadayo’s helping hands in-arm’s length were all weighed on the woman’s shoulders together pressing an incensing, burning thirst to answer the double-dealing dogs against her.
As far as whether or not anyone was on the other side of that official office door? Nobody was there. It was an empty room that was supposed to be locked. An empty room or not, about everyone who came by often approached with something they wanted.
Sadayo’s appearance had changed slightly since her previous on-goings: black shirt, pants, boots, and one addition of a gray cape. She was wearing her dry and drab facade, even so, as her sights finally flickered to one operative she hadn’t seen in a while. It seemed that her Leaf’s paramount people were bound to be elusive. So. Quietly, with the low-drumming of clomping steps, Sadayo appeared from behind a connecting hallway and stopped with Coda amid her path to the door. “Do you have something to report?” Some underhanded gesture behind the fabric of her cape was responsible for a sudden clacking sound rattling off in the door knob. A heavy, unpleasant thok of a noise came and Sadayo raised her arm with her palm facing upward. It was a gesture, beside one stale expression, offering Coda the chance to either open the door or stand aside.
For her part, Coda didn’t seem particularly caught off guard by Sadayo’s sudden appearance, although her attire did not match the formality. She no longer wore the purposefully ragged outfit of her days under Lahlil, but she still sported the same black track jacket with its black flame logo on sleeves hiked to the elbow over her simple daily wear.
When offered she took the initiative and entered the office. It was, after all, against her post’s regulations to discuss her tasks in the open. “Nothing good.” She said, stopping just inside the door to allow the Hokage to enter. She quite enjoyed that their relationship was colder and less formal, it made the act of communication feel less strained than it did with someone like Kai constantly trying to be her friend.
“The corruption investigation’s a bust. We traced some low tech smuggling operation back to a couple nobodies in the KPD, but they attacked us and took half the barracks with them.” Coda said with an obvious air of annoyance in her gruff voice in regards to the outcome. “They were too high to think straight, but making me beat them into submission scared anyone else out there into hiding.”
The Oinin stuffed tattooed hands into her jacket pockets with the meat of the report done, adopting a more relaxed stance. “The Jashinists have been quiet and I haven’t heard anything regarding other topics of interest like Amegakure. The Oinin need a new directive for when we’re not chasing rogues.”
In reality Coda would have liked to freelance a bit more, but balancing the Oinin’s operations with her own ambitions had proven a tall task even for someone as flexible as she was. Her gut told her to keep knocking heads until she flushed out something more substantial out of the KPD, but she was also aware of the rabbit hole it represented, and though she was as ruthless as anyone in the Leaf, starting an open war with the village police forces wasn’t likely to allow her to maintain her position.

The Jashinists have been quiet. Their silence was truly a concerning matter but peaceful, to some degree, for one who was so invested in thwarting them. Her reply was cordial as if offering a word of advice, “In your position, espionage is your auxiliary focus. At the same time, I’m still grateful for your cooperation with Commissioner Kai before his intermission.” At this point, Sadayo had passed through the doorway and Coda. Crossing the room just to stop at the front of the desk, Sadayo turns to face her guest but her attention was instead phasing through Coda. She bit her lip. The vision of noiseless, blurred impressions of the people who served beside her on the police force came to thought instead. She puffed and shook her head. “I'm not sure if I should be offended or grateful that the cowards took this long to come out. I bet me stepping out of the picture triggered all of this." Her attention sunk to the floor as her brows furrowed. “In the coming weeks, I can plop a few outside hands to mind the police from the inside.” She shrugged. Dissatisfied and at a loss of how to feel but her tone grew bitter, "they might worm out of the woodwork or keep their hands off the newbies. I'd rather have at least one horse in the race than none. Police Commissioner was my first position and they'll disgrace my work the second I take my name off the roster."
The next topic at hand was delayed. Her bitterness waned. Sadayo raised her sights forward and called to Coda with a soundless gesture: a beckoning, wiggling of her own index finger and a hardened wary look in her eyes before she passed the guarded stare around the otherwise empty room. She checked every which way, it seemed. From her bag, Sadayo quickly withdrew a small day planner in her palm beside a pencil she had slipped between two fingers. Still watching over her shoulders as if looking for proof of something. Se folded her arm and pressed open the book over her forearm and scrawled a note:I have reason to believe that we’re being watched. I can’t trust tap code right now. I can burn scratch paper. Not sounds.
She voiced a partial lie while etching more graphite into paper before tearing out two pages, “we’re in the same boat.” Two spies captured. Satoshi is either paranoid or intelligent. His people are controlled with fuuin that comes from the special operative agency. She didn’t waste much time into jotting down two syllables. Behavior was unusual later in talk. Otherwise loyal to Satoshi.Beneath the syllables she hashed out the strokes a single character reading: ‘event’ which didn’t rightfully add up. Finally, Sadayo broke the silence with a comment toward her prior frustration. “When I thought I was close to hearing answers it was like something clicked.” Clicked? “Then it was as if," she wrote the second suspected character beside. “He didn’t know what I was talking about.”Hypnosis. “That’s what I’m thinking. But I’ve never heard of this method played out in this way.” Fuuin? Really? Added the thought and circled it before handing the note to Coda. It was a lot of mystery to take in. Speculations that Sadayo couldn’t confirm until JUEI could divulge results.
“I doubt it.” The Konin interjected with a shrug, not bothering to remove her hands from her pockets for the time being. “We only found them at all because Arashigakure’s problem was worse and the Summit encouraged broader patrols. They got greedy.” It certainly didn’t hurt that Coda was always looking for a new target. Reality was though, if anything Sadayo did contributed to the two showing themselves it was the Kage Summit and not leadership.
“Please do.” Coda said as Sadayo offered to dig into the drug smuggling case in her place. “People tend to not be a huge fan of seeing me in my work clothes.” She added, obliquely referencing the general skittishness of everyone who had to deal with the Oinin.
She crossed her arms as Sadayo clearly began suggesting the office was potentially compromised. One of her hands held a seal as the tattoos on her arms shifted and she stepped closer to the Hokage. “It’d make a lot of sense.” She replied aloud, looking over the note as her more detailed response etched itself into her skin. “Between bloodline abilities and the flying vermin he summons. Also wouldn’t be the first time I’ve come across a similar fuuin technique.”
Of course, Coda wasn’t going to mention it was her jutsu and doubted that, even with her skill, her technique was quite on the same level as Satoshi’s. She required a willing or incapacitated target, while it wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility for the Sharingan to achieve a similar effect without gaining an advantage of any kind. It also didn’t offer her control as granular as turning a person who otherwise possessed agency away from a topic of discussion.
“This is more like what I expected to find on my end.” She added. After Arashigakure Coda had prepared to find something a bit more serious at play in the village. Something more along the lines of exactly what she’d walked into here in the office. Counter surveillance could prove to be an actually interesting assignment, especially since it finally gave her an objective on which she and the village would align - a rather uncommon occurrence outside of the scope of her hunting trips.

“I’m expecting results from Intelligence.” With luck, the matter was yet to be resolved with time. With Coda’s input, the hope of learning anything about Satoshi’s fuuin formula felt more complicated now. The magnitude of how complex an inscription of ink and energy was easily taken for granted. “Hmm.” She groaned. Recalling her most recent adventure in the underground as she jotted down a few more lines. “After three and a half hours in the thick, your claim doesn’t surprise me.” A fresh line of graphite read: “foreigners are not allowed inside. The spy wasn’t able to complete a second word. It was about a power Satoshi has...” As far as writing was going this appeared to be the last note scribbled on paper but Sadayo left the notebook folded open on her arm. “He treats his own like disposable pawns,” her tone tiptoeing about disgust. ”I could imprison captives and I... I bet you-” Tap! Tap! Her hand wasn’t as levelheaded as her tone and dark, dusty pencil marks to prove it. “That he wouldn’t bat an eye! How would he treat a lone foreigner who crosses the border?” She knew now that contact would need to be made with the scrambling officials in the capitol about trade and civilian safety, at least. Responding to Leaf findings couldn’t be done haphazardly. Fortunately, Fire and Rain share a small border with just a couple of manned fortifications stationed. Seki Outpost was the main border post of the three dotting the region. “What I want you to do is take a message to Seki Outpost at the border of Rain and Fire.” A folded note was withdrawn from beneath her cloak. Something Sadayo had, apparently, drawn up before she arrived but lacked the right hands to mobilize the message. “No one gets their hands on this except me, you, and the captain at Seki Outpost.” As far as the company goes, Sadayo urged Coda to take Roku after hearing whispers that his personal business brought him back to the Leaf. Coda had the liberty to investigate with the warnings from Sadayo presented. ”Whatever you do, don't breach his borders. He made a fuss about other nations not spying on him at the Summit. He may be more remorseless to feel secure than we’re aware.”
ooc: holy cow! Where has my motivation gone? Anyway, Brooy expressed that he will be happy to work with Coda for some plot.
Coda's tattoos shifted to relay a sarcastic retort to the given information, before she assumed a more contemplative stance. "Might as well just assume it's equally as nasty and hope it turns out to be a novel method for drying his socks out or some other inanity."
"We could always dangle someone out there and see how it goes." She posited as she found a chair to sprawl into in service of gaining a better view of the ceiling. "The Yazawa man, Minister of State or whatever he called himself. Positively incorrigible. If you had something that interested him, perhaps he's a method to test the waters." Coda continued, a pair of fingers fishing a slightly more worn looking little black paper bat from a hip pouch and turning it about for the Hokage to see. She had little interest in Yazawa, but a job was a job and Coda came with the advantage of being low profile even within her own village.
Speaking of which, that idea would have to wait on Sadayo as an actual mission was floated. The Konin grimaced a bit as she righted herself and retrieved the offered paper. She pondered the best way to secure it as Sadayo made her suggestions.
Coda wasn't overly fond of Roku. He shared her blood, in part, but not of the same history or values in her experience. Not that this was particularly uncommon among the other children of O-Inari she encountered here in her strange position. It did make her more uncomfortable, slightly dissociative, to watch one who's blood flowed the same as hers willingly give up the heritage and tradition stolen from her. He was more Uchiha than Yozen in demeanor, so she could come up with a worse companion for threatening to trigger her now well contained PTSD; and even if those damn eyes were a threat to one of her secrets, a notion that set Gyuki stirring in the back of her mind, they provided a potential counter to Satoshi that she didn't have.
"I'll get someone to rope him in. Should I bring boots or a bottle to meet our brave border guardians?" She asked, putting on a little bit of faux enthusiasm as she inquired about the nature of the mission. Business or party, essentially. It was probably acceptable to run as an Oinin here, but it'd make her less flexible if Sadayo decided something more needed to be done. If the mask set relations on a knife's edge here, they might as well march troops across the border to achieve the affect it would have in Amegakure's territory. One of the perks of discretion that she valued was the ability to simply be Coda when it was more convenient, but while she valued it the choice would ultimately be left to Sadayo.

This offensive attack deals damage regularly but allows the user to use their remaining activations as offensive as well.
[ Kyotoryuu Training | Available | Duration 0/2 | Cooldown 0/3 ] The Kyotouryuu practitioner can now react to an opponent by converting their speed into an agility boost for [2] posts with a [3] post cooldown. This requires no activation or resource cost.

[ Yozen ] Fuuinjutsu techniques require [10] less chakra per body rank of the Yozen clansman (maximum of 60 at S+) without losing their potency.
[ Mach Style Training ] Make taijutsu complex, and "punch" ninjutsu orbs as projectiles. When in the shooter stance, the strength and speed of strikes is increased by [2] points instead of [1] point per rank.
[ Channeling Martial Skill Training ] Ability for techniques to carry two elemental properties. Ability to add bloodline elements.
[ Kaiser Fist Training ] The armor now emits a crackling, bright, white hot chakra that appears like a thin aura around the user. The chakra causes mild burns on contact. In addition, the user gains a [1] point increase to strength and speed per rank of the armor. ------- Kaiser Armor allows the user to regenerate 10 stamina per rank of chakra applied to each technique while the armor is active. The user may not generate more stamina than their reserves may hold. ------- The Kaiser Armor now causes searing burns upon contact that blister due to the crackling chakra. The user's strength and speed are increased by [1] point per rank of the armor. Taijutsu and bukijutsu techniques used while the armor is active create shock waves [5] feet in the direction of the attack per rank of the technique.
[ Mirror Image Arts Training ] The user may cast the Shadow Clone technique in conjunction with techniques from this style to replace mirror images with the clones. Casting Shadow Clones in this manner does not consume an activation. ------- The user has learned to control their chakra in a fine manner which allows them to create an additional mirror image per rank of the technique it is executed with. These additional images do not increase the strength of the parent technique.
Before the Hokage would be able to respond to Coda's question, the floors would begin to shake with a rumble coming from below. Things on the walls would begin to shake themselves free of their mounts, crashing to the ground. It would only become worse as parts of the building would begin to crack. An anbu with a wolf mask would appear directly to the Hokage. "Villagers are attacking the building." The figure would say before disappearing into a puff of smoke. At the same time the building began to stop shaking until it was completely still again. If Sadayo or Coda were to look outside the windows they would be able to see a group of people at the very bottom of the building. From the view it appeared the group was mixture of anbu and people in black clothing. The anbu's numbers quickly dwindled as several were killed by various techniques. It seemed the techniques were of various natures and bloodlines.
Once most of the anbu were taken care of, several of the villagers would group together in a circle. Each would complete a separate set of handseals. At their completion, the sky would begin to darken with clouds. Lightning cracked against the sky as a vortex began to form above the Hokage's office. From the vortex, a dragon made of fire, wind, and lightning would descend. It was clear if the dragon wasn't stopped it would crash directly into the building and take out what was left of it's foundations.

“Hm?” Mina took her focus from the group training she was holding with the Genin of Squad 4, moving her volleyball under her arm. Tremors the ground caught her attention first, getting her to look just as the giant chakra dragon entered the sky. “Oh that can’t be good.” Truth be told, Mina wasn’t a sensory type shinobi. She had no real idea what was going on inside the village. But giant explosions of chakra without warning were hardly a good sign. And the last time it happened, a group of murderous cultists were attacking the village for Kurama. ‘Are they trying to finish the job now that Masato isn’t the host?’ She wondered, her eyes narrowing against the glare of elements being released. The redheaded Jonin was about to body flicker to the tower, but stopped mid stride as she remembered something. Sheturned her head over her shoulder to look at her squad of Genin. “I, uh, can’t really stop you from going.” She began with an embarrassed look and a smile on her face. “If you all wanted to, then trying to corral all five of you would be an uphill battle, wouldn't it?” Mina shifted to her full height and gave Sumika,Cobalt, Fumiko, Kuchibashi, and his pet bird an intense look. “So stay close if you’re coming with, or stay safe if you aren’t. Let’s move.”
Mina shifted before disappearing in a blur of motion and tiny embers of fire. She went as fast as she could to get to the tower that housed the Kage office, but by the time she arrived the chakra dragon had been dealt with. Water fell from above, leading the Jonin to presume that somebody was already here to defend. Still, more bodies wouldn’t hurt. Mina slid into place between the group of attackers and the base of the building. She looked positively out of place, dressed in her gym shorts and tank top, as opposed to her shinobi gear. “Great, more freaks…” Mina muttered, sliding into a more appropriate combat stance. “Fumiko, Ku, make sure the people inside are safe, okay? But be careful, there could be more people inside. If you run into trouble, run. Got it?” Mina would order without taking her eyes from the group of weirdos before them. She'd wait for affirmation before turning to the last one in the group. “Hey Sumika, you weren’t at the Falls invasion, yeah? You ready to make up for last time and knock some skulls with me?” She’d ask the puppeteer, the cornes of her lips turning up into a confident smirk.

Having only graduated from the academy recently, Ten Hiderigami was quite unsure what he should be doing with his newfound free-time. The logical step, for most, would be to tackle some missions or help out around the village. That same logic was lost on the blonde. For all he knew, wandering about the village and awaiting some form of order is his job now. One foot after another, letting his feet dictate his destination. Ten’s thoughts were largely elsewhere, thinking of how great his life was here in Konoha. It was so peaceful, far away from the place he was born. A guy could get used to -. Was that an earthquake?
Ten ceased his aimless gait as a slight tremor rumbled underfoot. ”That doesn’t seem normal,” he murmured to himself. It wasn’t a true concern yet, more so an observation. Earthquakes happen on occasion after all. This one, however, was unnaturally short in duration. It wasn’t until the sky began to darken with thick, tumultuous clouds that it clicked. Something was definitely wrong. Ten broke into a sprint, heading in the direction that the vortex was forming. As the composite dragon reared its head, Ten’s form flickered into a blur. He stopped outside of the Hokage’s tower, behind the crowd that had formed beneath it. Ten could hear action somewhere in the mass of people, but he couldn’t tell what was going on. Answers were needed.
Ten began to approach the group, unaware that these people were orchestrating an attack, and even more unaware of the gathering shinobi aiming to thwart that plan. ”Hey, can someone tell me what’s going on?” His question would likely go unheard within the rabble. The gap closed even further, and he reached his hand out to try and tap the shoulder of one of the men towards the back, hoping for some information, but.. Ten’s signature clumsiness struck at that moment. His foot caught on some unseen object, literally just the air, and sent him hurtling forward with no way to stop himself. Before he knew it, his face had smacked right into the back of the very person he was trying to speak with, pushing them into a few other crowd-members.

“If I can speak to Yazawa again,” her reply came as if the hope of learning what the deal was with Yazawa was a far-fetched endeavor. A way to contact him was a matter she hadn’t considered. The Minister’s choice of words came back and forth to Sadayo at times since the summit. If he was like the boy playing mad king. "He wanted cooperation. Mostly the run-of-the-mill interests of trade. But I’m hesitant to reach out to him.” She bit her lip. What was the cost? Was Yazawa as crooked? "I couldn't risk bringing him back here either for that matter..
" But on the subject of appearances, Sadayo wanted the message it self to set the tone and not the person carrying it. It was dicey enough trying to keep tabs on the horizon where some unknown agent was at play. “No mask." She shook her hand. "As far as they’re concerned you’re just a messen-” Then it began. She about had the heart to just wait out the tremors but they were loud. Louder than what things seemed like they should have been. Office windows cracked before one gave way to shattering. ”Villagers are attacking the building.” It was an untimely interruption. The operative’s words intensified a hollowing feeling inside her. Another terrible shaking below their feet. She dropped the pencil and gripped the notebook only to shove it back into her bag during some effort to keep her footing and think! The scene just through the window was a sky beginning to darken and the descent of a creation barreling. In the chaos, she snorted in disgust. “I suppose we’ll have a storm now.” It was her job to save the building and, even more so, as long as people stood in it. Sadayo had to steady herself and rush through a succession of hand seals. She brought her hands together, curling all but her index fingers and extended her reach. Energy piling. Droplets of water were bubbling into being on her fingertips. Her rampant energy pulling from thin air. This was a heavier effort than what this technique typically called for. There was just enough time for another line of her dry humored jest. And maybe another earthquake if you like.” Her aim was set for the elemental dragon. Breaking the body might do the trick. So. She fired. Before she knew it, the large gushing projectile of water sheared through a sheet of fractured glass. A spray of water trailing in its wake. Sadayo’s stance was shaken by the release and she withdrew just one hand from the gun formation- shook it- and reached behind into her bag. One scroll returned with her balled fist. It produced just one puppet to her side. An armor-clad humanoid samurai with a wide, round hat. * ”Do what you must,” she said, briefly fixing her gaze to Coda. ”I’m keeping my distance for now. This building isn't going to fall on me.”. It was confidence spoke with caution as her sights flickered sideways, upward, then forward.
