The zoroark only nodded, agreeing with Fi's own observations about fighting. "Yeah, that was weird. Sorta almost like.... fighting an illusion....?" he commented, mumbling a bit towards the end. The mood was lifted as he chipped in on a promise to protect the little bat. Daiki chuckled as Xiao Lan squealed at his threat to eat any of the nightmares before they got to the noibat. "You're both right. They probably taste awful. I think they might even ruin my girlish figure." he joked along. It was nice to see Fi was less up in arms around him, and that Xiao Lan was able to still find some fun even in this situation. He turned his head to look as Fi noticed Shade rejoining. Allure returned her gaze to the mirror after her moment of finding and subsequently destroying the heart-shaped rocks only to find no her own reflection, but the one of her elder. It'd been ages since she'd last saw him, the Enigrake that would be called her father. The tall broad shouldered dragon stared down at Allure, his thin sliver-like eyes staring down upon her with what felt like disappointment. Aye, he was likely furious to discover she, among a few other Ghoizard and Spiriake had vanished from their murky homeland to venture into the human world. Returning his gaze, Allure rose her head up high. Standing as tall as she was, she was still only chest high to her father. Aye, but the message was sent well and good. She was not going to be intimidated by an illusion. For a moment the vision of her father lingered before it finally shrunk back down to Allure's very own reflection.

Yay, Everyone can finally catch up to their run away vehicle. XD
Those Drifloon were certainly something to mull over, but Daphnes wasn't one to continue thinking of things in the past, nay, he wanted to think to the future. What possible dangers awaited him and his giant fuzzy brother in arms? The Bagon gave a shrug to Mogwai's inquiries, figuring he had nothing really in his own words to explain what was up with those odd ghosts. Spies or decoys they were no longer barring their path.
The path in question lead them to some luminescent moss growing along the walls of the moist cave they were currently walking through. Daphnes had managed to fandango some shinies trapped in the moss, only to find he'd instead ruined them. It also seemed Mogwai had done the same. "They certainly are fragile things..." The dragon murmured. Shaking his head he quickly rejoined his companion and they once more headed deeper in the cave. Not long into their walk Mogwai brought up more on knighthood, inquiries on what else a knight did. Well, all that Daphnes had told his friend was all he knew, and Daphnes wasn't keen on telling any more potential lies to the Bewear.
"I'm not sure." He replied. "I will have to speak with Temperance more on knights." Gazing up to Mogwai, Daphnes observed his friend. "She apparently trained with knights. Least that is what she told me, and my human is an honest one, so I'm inclined to believe her. " The bagon nodded his head a few times. "Aye, but she hasn't really spoken about knight stuff much at all lately." Temprance's demeanor had changed slightly starting when she met that red-haired human whom she'd attacked in defense, then it further changed when she met that other human, but she didn't stop talking about her knights and kingdom until very recently. It concerned Daphnes, but now wasn't the time to think of that. "Perhaps our humans should meet one day, and she can tell you more herself?" Daphnes offered, feeling rather good about that idea.

Radium nervously stood as she awaited the anger towards her actions, only to find understanding, and a bit more self-deprecation from Dotty. "Don't say that Dotty." Radium replied. "I- Well, I guess we'll just have to work on regulating our speeds." The mouse gave a meek smile as she turned towards the path ahead. The group was finally moving once more, and the conversation revolved around Ai and Dotty's previous bout with their own Drifloon. Radium agreed with Vivace, she hadn't expected an electric attack from Dotty, that was radium's shtick wasn't it? Well, it wasn't like Radium was the only one allowed to make sparks fly. However, Dotty's nervous disposition suddenly shifted after Vivace sneezed a few times. The mouse hadn't noticed something fall from up high onto the togepi's head, but she did hear the sneezes. Radium offered a nervous smile, much different from her earlier smile... this one was more of a 'really?' kind of nervous smile. The Duosion suddenly turned into one of those upbeat touristy types that often walked through the city gawking at everything they saw, sometimes even herself. Radium hadn't really been a fan of being cooed at by random strangers.
But of course bad things seemed to always happen in threes, making Radium's sudden trip number two. Whatever she'd tripped on, at least her fall wasn't far. She landed face-down on the dirt pathway her stick falling just a bit further ahead. When she rose herself up, the mouse found she'd fallen into a pile of heart-shaped objects, thin and easily breakable they were also kind of smooth, and sparkly, though after a moment they suddenly lost their colour, including the one that managed to stay attached to Radium's forehead. "Huh?" Wait, hadn't she seen something like that before?

☆ ☆【Piper was more than happy to see their group coming together again, unable to help but smile as Vivace approached Ai in a way to try an indicate that she wanted up on the Espeon’s back again. The Psychic-type cat, of course, obliged as she picked up the little Togepi with her telekinesis and helped her onto her back. The strangeness of their battle against those Drifloon admittedly had the Noivern on edge, and even Radium brought up a good point of how they hadn’t even behaved normally either. Given that this was a dream world, though… it should probably be expected that thing here wouldn’t work quite the same as they did in real life. But still, it made the Noivern much more concerned about what might be waiting for them up ahead as they kept going forward, and she had a feeling what they might face off against next would be much more dangerous than those Drifloon…
Radium spoke up again, saying that it had been her fault they had gotten split up and assuring that she’d try her best to stick with the group this time around. Ai agreed, firmly stating that they would get through this by working together. ”Yeah… s-safety in numbers, right?” Piper chipped in to agree. Dotty, on the other hand, tried to assure Radium by shifting some of the blame onto herself as she said that she was a bit slow and ended up getting lost. The Noivern frowned at that, nodding in agreement with the Pichu as she said they should just work on regulating their speeds. ”N-No one is really at f-fault here, alright?” she meekly pointed out, trying to push a bit more confidence in her voice, ”What m-matters most now is th-that we’re all together again, a-and we’re going to g-get through this as a t-team, right? And if a-anyone gets l-lost, we’ll do wh-what we can to f-find them and b-bring them back. N-No one is g-going to be left b-behind, I c-can assure you th-that much.”
A smile crossed the Noivern’s face as Vivace praised Dotty and Ai’s skills while she kept her focus on the crystal cave path ahead of them, and she could certainly agree with the Togepi on that in spite of the Duosion’s bashful insistence that she wasn’t usually so gung-ho about battling. The two had worked very well together to defeat the Drifloon with ease, Piper hoped that perhaps they would be able to pull off that same kind of teamwork against whatever enemies awaited them next from here on out. They would definitely need it if they would be going up against much stronger foes… and perhaps even against Darkrai himself when they finally found him… ”N-No problem, Ai,” she said kindly with a nod to the Espeon’s thanks to them for waiting. She had made a promise to wait for them on the other side, and the Noivern was more than glad that Radium and Vivace had even waited up for them rather than continuing forward on their own. Like the Espeon had said, it would be in their best interests to stick closer together as a group for however much longer it would take for them to escape this place.
Pushing their way through the crystal cavern, Piper would have admired the rather beautiful scenery a little more if she wasn’t more concerned with listening out for trouble as she kept her ears tuned ahead of them. Aside from the distant sound of water dripping off of the stalactites on the cave’s ceiling, she couldn’t make out the sounds of anything particularly unusual. And then suddenly…”Chi!”The unexpected sound practically scared the Noivern out of her skin as she jumped nearly a foot in the air, back arched, eyes blown wide open, and ears flattened like a startled Skitty as her head rapidly shifted to and fro in search of the source of the sudden sound. It wasn’t until it sounded a second time that her attention was drawn towards Vivace just as Dotty started to ask if she was okay, had the Togepi just… sneezed? That’s what it had sounded like to her… ”U-Um… Bless you?” she offered with a bit of uncertainty. That was what humans said to each other when they sneezed, right? Even more unexpected than Vivace’s sneeze was Dotty’s sudden reaction as she fawned over the Togepi and admonished how adorable she was. Piper blinked as she watched this whole thing unfold, unsure of how or if she should be reacting to this… While Dotty’s sudden shift from her usually nervous demeanor was admittedly rather cute, the Noivern herself would probably be uncomfortable if she was in Vivace’s position, just a tad… Not that she minded being fawned over, but she’d prefer to have a bit of warning beforehand rather than just have it come out of nowhere. However, Dotty seemed to realize what was going on, and slowly backed off as she mumbled an apology.
Piper offered a small smile to the Duosion, not sure if she should say anything but figured that was probably best left to Vivace. Her attention was suddenly drawn towards Radium as the Pichu suddenly tripped over something and landed face-first on a pile of shimmering heart-shaped things. ”Oh! A-Are you okay, Ray?” she asked, moving to help the Pichu. Radium was able to help herself back up well enough, at least, so Piper carefully reached out to retrieve the little mouse’s stick that had fallen a bit of a ways ahead and offered it for her to take, ”H-Here, probably best to n-not lose this.” She had noticed how the Pichu had kept ahold of the stick the whole time even though she could've easily left it behind at any point in time. Still, it was probably a good idea to keep it with her, just in case.】☆ ☆

A new place… Mystery Dungeon Mogwai spies a new friend! Daphnes
☆ ☆【Mogwai hummed quietly to himself as he thought over the strangeness of their fight against those Drifloon back there. It was… oddly disturbing how they hadn’t even really fought back even as they were being attacked, seemingly focused more on trying to be obstacles to try and prevent them from going forward. The Bewear couldn’t help but wonder what else lay in store for him and his fellow knight as they made more progress in their quest to find and defeat Darkrai, if perhaps any other enemies they might come across would be as easy to get through as those Drifloon had been. As much as he hoped that was the case, something told him that the going was only to get increasingly harder from here onwards. Even if those balloon ghosts hadn’t gone out of their way to try and retaliate even as they were being battered around, whatever they might have to defeat next would probably put up a bit more of a fight... In that case, the Bewear would have to put in more work as a protector so that his sword wouldn’t have to worry about potentially being hurt. For now, though, he would focus more on what was yet to come than what had already passed, what mattered most now was that they’d bypassed an obstacle and could continue on with their journey.
Much to Mogwai’s fascination and relief, the path before them gradually became illuminated by some glowing plants that were scattered all over the floor and walls of the damp, humid cave they traversed through. They ended up being slightly waylaid by the discovery of what looked like shiny treasures of some kind laying around nearby, surely Aiden would be happy to see that he had brought back some nice little shinies as a souvenir or prize from his quest. Unfortunately, in his eagerness to gather them up as best he could, the Bewear had ended up accidentally destroying them. Well, so much for that… There wasn’t even anything worth trying to salvage among the shattered pieces of the former shiny things as they had lost all previous luster they’d had. How strange… Had they perhaps meant to be used in such a way? Still, in spite of the Bewear’s disappointment, he strangely felt a new surge of energy that renewed his confidence as he and Daphnes moved on again to head deeper and deeper into the cave.
Mogwai kept a close ear out for any noises that seemed out of the ordinary, remembering how they had heard those creepy whispering sounds prior to their encounter with those Drifloon. It would certainly serve them well to pay more attention to those kind of cues, that way they’d be much more prepared to take on whatever guardian would probably be guarding the way to the next floor. In the meantime, he tried to make small talk with Daphnes so they wouldn’t be walking around in silence the whole time, curious to possibly learn more about what it meant to be a knight if the Bagon had anything more to offer in the way of knowledge. The Bewear tilted his head to the side as his Dragon-type partner said that he wasn’t sure, mentioning that he would have to speak more with Temperance to get more of a picture about knighthood as a whole. As disappointed as Mogwai was by this news, he nodded in understanding. At least it seemed Daphnes was being honest with him, well… at least he would certainly hope so. He listened as the Bagon explained that his trainer had apparently trained alongside knights, and he was willing to believe her as she was pretty honest. ”Teeeeemp kniiiight tooooo?” he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him as he looked towards his partner with an inquisitive expression. This Temperance sounded like quite an interesting human… though the Bewear couldn’t help noticing how Daphnes had mentioned her training with knights, but didn’t necessarily say that she was a knight herself. Was it possible for people to actually train with knights even though they weren’t necessarily knights themselves?
He kept listening with quiet intent as the Bagon mentioned that Temperance hadn’t spoken that much about knight stuff at all lately. Had something changed with her in recent times that perhaps she hadn’t been training with them lately? Mogwai was curious to know, but felt that it probably was best to refrain from bringing it up. It was a fairly personal question, after all, and he was sure that there were some things about Temperance that Daphnes wouldn’t feel the most comfortable with divulging to him. The Bewear smiled and nodded eagerly at the offer of their humans possibly meeting up someday, quite intrigued at the possibility of learning more about knighthood from someone who had personally trained with knights themselves. ”Yeeeees! Mooooogwaaaaiiii thiiiiink Aaaaaiiiiideeeen liiiike meeeet Teeeeemp,” he agreed wholeheartedly with a nod, ”Aaaaiiiiideeeeen niiiice, kiiiind. Aaaaaaiiiiideeeeeen saaaave Moooogwaaaaiiii~” While the Bewear was still getting acquainted with his new trainer as they had only met not that long ago, what Mogwai had gathered of Aiden so far was that the young man was very friendly and accepting. He had saved the Bewear when he had been left alone in Ilex Forest after Void had packed up and left their former lab there, forced to fight anything that came too close to the site because of that device they had put on him to trigger his rage with the loud noises it gave off. Aiden’s kindness had been what had convinced the bear to join up with him and his team in the first place, after all. Surely the good-natured boy would be able to make a friend in Temperance if the two were to meet each other, if that were possible, at least. ”Teeeemp niiiice tooooo?” he then asked, wondering what Daphnes thought of his own trainer and what she was like. If they did end up possibly meeting someday, Mogwai wasn’t sure of what to expect of someone he didn’t really know all that much about. He would certainly hope this Temperance was nice, and given that his Bagon companion had not yet said anything about her that could be taken negatively… that was surely a good sign, right?】☆ ☆

Dune was thinking that maybe, next time, he could use that cool attack of his where he didn't have to launch himself right at the scary (okay maybe that balloon wasn't that scary) enemies. Yeah, yeah Dune was thinking that was a fantastic idea.
There was still a bunch of energy in his body, lingering excitement over their short encounter. Before he really knew what he was saying, Dune piped up, "R-race you to the top!" And then he lifted off into the air, flapping up the stairs.
Ai twitched when she heard Vivace made a tiny noise on her back. Then it happened again. Oh my god, were those sneezes? They were.... they were really cute. No Ai, focus on your surroundings."You okay back there?" she asked, voice warm. She then chuckled as Dotty swooped in, smiling to herself. Her tail swished back and forth, content.
Ai kept her eyes on everything else while the group was distracted, and noticed when Radium picked up some scales off the ground. Ai recognized them as heart scales. They might come in handy, later, so he scanned their surroundings and gathered a few off the top of a crystal, floating them over. She turned her attention to Radium, as Piper handed the- the stick -back over. Piper had already come to Radium's aid, so Ai contented herself with that.

☆ ☆【While Fianna discussed the weirdness of the situation and how odd those Drifloon had seemed with Daiki, she kept a close eye on Xiao Lan to make sure the Noibat wouldn’t wander off and get lost. A soft smile crossed the Braixen’s face as she noticed the little dragon taking a few practice swings, even though she doubted wings and tiny claws were really conducive to being able to punch things it was quite endearing to see the little one trying her hardest to replicate it as best she could manage. However, the smile hardly stayed for long as she focused on Daiki again, nodding as he agreed with her points and mentioned something about how it almost seemed like they had been fighting an illusion even though she barely managed to catch that as he had started mumbling a little. Yeah… fighting those Drifloon had seemed very much like they had been battling an illusion… or a decoy…
While Fianna was rather relieved that she wasn’t the only one who thought that whole battle in general had been strangely off for quite a few different reasons, it only made her more concerned for what they might be up against next… She had a sinking feeling that unlike the Drifloon they had passed through, any other foes they’d have to fight to get through to Darkrai would not only be tougher but would probably actually try to retaliate against their attacks. While the fire fox wasn’t sure of what would happen if any of them were to get knocked out in this world, she’d prefer to not have to find out if it could be helped…
As if she hadn’t enough to worry about, the gradually darkening environment around as they approached the entrance to the cave marking the next floor hardly made things better. She was more than happy to whip out her torch again so that they wouldn’t completely lose their way in the darkness, gently reassuring Xiao Lan that she and Daiki wouldn’t let any of the nightmares get her as the Zoroark chipped in that he’d eat them before they could even try. A light laugh escaped Fianna as the little Noibat giggled and insisted that ‘Kiki’ shouldn’t eat nightmares because they’d taste bad, adding in her own little joke about how they’d give him a ‘nightmare’ of a stomachache. Daiki jokingly agreed, remarking that they’d probably ruin his ‘girlish figure’ to the Braixen’s amusement as she flashed a toothy grin. The humor helped to lighten up the rather tense atmosphere around them, and even Xiao Lan was making light of the situation as she played around with the cave’s echo. ”Why don’t you try singing, Xiao Lan? The echo could create some nice musical effects,” the fire fox offered, deciding to follow along with the Noibat’s example and test it out for herself. She then sang out a few notes in her melodic voice, holding onto them for a good few seconds or so and listening to how it resounded throughout the cavern. Huh… for being a damp, dark cave it seemed to have some pretty decent acoustics!
For now, however, they stopped to take a short break and wait for their still absent teammates to hopefully catch up. To Fianna’s relief, it wasn’t much longer until Shade appeared, its bright blue eyes cutting through the darkness as the dimmed light of her flaming stick glinted against its silver fur. Xiao Lan was quite excited to see the Chengshen again as she flapped over and gave ‘Fluffy’ a hug. ”Good to see you made it unharmed as well,” the Braixen chipped in with a smile, though it quickly faded upon noticing that they were still short one member… And sure enough, Xiao Lan asked the lingering question that all else were wondering as well. ”Beltigre had still been with you when you engaged the Drifloon, right?” she inquired, trying to maintain the calm, even tone of her voice in spite of the fact that she was deeply worried on the inside as to why the Torracat wasn’t here by now. ”If she’s still back there with them… I’m not sure if we would be able to help her much at this point, if she has yet to defeat the guardian to be able to pass through it’s likely she’d have to do so on her own,” she said with a sigh, shaking her head slightly, ”I’m sure she’s more than capable of handling her own, but… we’ll fall behind if we stay for too long…”
As much as she hated possibly having to leave Beltigre on her own, they wouldn’t be getting anywhere closer to Darkrai fast if they continued to sit here and wait around. ”What do you all think?” she asked, glancing around at the face of what members of their team had assembled thus far, ”I’m more than willing to wait longer for Bel if we feel it’s best as a group. However, it’s probably about time that we will need to start moving on as well…” She was sure that Beltigre would be able to catch up with them at some point later on if they choose to just go on without her for now, but it wouldn’t feel right for them to just leave an ally behind, much less their team leader at that. As such, Fianna wanted to leave that decision ultimately up to the group as a whole, it was only fair that everyone involved gets their own say in what would be a very tough choice to make, after all.】☆ ☆

C H I C K P E A The Chikorita
Chickpea gasped when Dune took the air, making his ascension far easier than his climb. It was a bit unfair, with him not having any wings and all, though Chickpea didn't bother voicing a complaint, that was wasting precious time. Time he could be using in climbing faster. He pushed his little legs into overdrive, and once one step was conquered he went after the next, barely giving himself any time to breathe. By the time he made it to the landing, his face had gained a red tint to it, and his legs felt like jelly. The Chikorita wobbled forward, took the deepest breath that he could, then slumped down onto the floor.
"I made it..."
As nice as the break was, Chickpea didn't give himself much time to enjoy it. Even while lying on the ground he was already looking at their new surroundings, and didn't miss the gigantic cave that loomed before them (it was kind of impossible). So that's where all the other pokemon were going. Once his legs felt a bit more solid Chickpea pulled himself onto them, then waved to Dune to follow him. "Does this place remind you of your old home, Dune?" Chickpea asked, recalling his friend had mentioned that, before meeting Jun, he'd lived in a cave with other Dunsparce. This probably meant that Dune was an expert in all things caves, and he could get them smoothly through without any problem!
At the mouth of the cave Chickpea paused to inspect a curious fungi, standing tall and by its lonesome; though its most impressive trait was, hands down, the fact that it glowed a soft, luminescent blue. His interest immediately piqued, Chickpea plucked the mushroom out of the ground with a vine, and then held it up as a makeshift torch; from detective, to superhero, and now to explorer, he was doing it all. "Hello in thereeee!" Chickpea called out, and bounced with excitement when his voice echoed out.

Vivace sniffed, annoyed at whatever had set her off, but relieved to find that it only elicited two sneezes from her; sometimes she got into these sneezing fits that just went on for minutes at a time, they were horrible. They left her eyes watering and never wanting to use her nose again, which was of course ridiculous. But, those sneezing fits were just that much of a hindrance to her.
"Th-that.... waS THE CUTEST THING OHMYGOSH!"
"Huh?" Before she could even blink Vivace found herself being enveloped in a cool, almost waxy, and yet soft, substance and being told that she was adorable. It took her completely off-guard, and she was still blinking, trying to comprehend just what had happened, when Dotty removed herself and apologized for her rash actions. Vivace shifted herself to glance at the psychic, the confusion still clear on her face, before she eventually nodded her head. "It's... okay," she spoke slowly, accepting her apology. She wasn't upset with her, as sudden as her hug and proclamation that 'she was going to cry', she was just... yeah, confused was the word.
Her sneezes weren't cute. They were annoying. And she wasn't cute either, she was... tough!
Internally deciding that she wouldn't be sneezing anymore, Vivace turned herself back around on Ai's back and stared pointedly ahead, as if squinting hard enough into the dark would suddenly enable her to see.

Ulani looked at Prim in surprise as she giggled and gave her hand a squeeze. Quickly though a confident smile crossed her face as the Florges seemed to compliment her on her bravery and the little squirrel puffed her chest out a bit. Honestly having someone with her and who seemed to be just as relieved (as could be in this kind of situation) with her attempts made her feel just a tiny bit more confident.
Her ears twitched a bit as her voice echoed and died off in the cave, still watching as the lights came and went. She gave a little gulp and followed cautiously with Prim, keeping her eyes intently on the dark before them. If there was something there then she’d… she’d punch it out! "I won’ let it hurt you pretty flower! I’ll keep you safe this time!" She offered. She wanted to be brave too!

Prim gave Ulani a thumbs up, and hoped that she could see it in the dim light, which was the best way she could portray her appreciation to Ulani's offer of keeping her safe. Despite her young age, she was quickly proving herself to be a reliable friend, and she was enjoying their time together. Hopefully, the next area they found themselves in would give them a bit more room, and visibility, to try and do something... fun. Just because they were on a mission to beat up, or feed, Darkrai didn't mean they needed to be serious the entire time! Maybe they could find a field of flowers to go through, ooh that would be nice.
As tempting as it was to get lost in a daydream, Prim still kept her wits about her. Thankfully, now that they had these rocks, whose numbers only increased the farther they went in, she could confidently say that they were making a decent bit of progress now.
It was only a matter of time before they'd be socking Darkrai in the face!
