The silver-redhead watched her travel partner mulling over the options, waiting patiently for an answer. "Alright, that's probably a fair plan." She tucked away the brochure into her bag and took a look around the buildings nearest to them, hoping to pick out the welcome center. "The brochure only really gives the broad strokes, nothing really in depth. Island names, a few tourist traps, and any other stat you could fit on a baseball card, so an actual map would probably help. There's usually like a welcome center for that, right?" Admittedly, Luca wasn't the most knowledgeable about this sort of thing, but she had tried her best to brush up on what she'd need to know when traveling.
Once they reached the base of the ramp, it seemed they had some semblance of a plan now. She chuckled at the girl's faint grin, reaching an arm out to pat her back and gently push her along as they walked. "Alright, let's get going then. First we find a map, then we look into those regional variants."

Sylva gave in to Luca's slight push easily enough. The marina wasn't all that large, the ship they'd come from seemingly took up the entire right side of the dock, the other side appeared to be a building, which likely held ferries that took locals and tourists to other islands, That place might of had a pretty decent map of the island... or no, likely just of the routes the ferries took between all the islands. A bust in the end. Moving on, it wasn't long before they were at another slope, which would lead them up and into the city at last. Though, a road block soon appeared as a group of people seemed to be halted from moving forward. They all seemed rather flustered, but with the presence of... Luca's sword they parted ways letting the two girls see what was causing the road block. Two boys stood in the way, a single Pokemon on either side of them. "Yo, yo, yo. No one passes until you pay the toll." One stated, waving his hands around in odd directions... It looked kind of like a dance? "1,000 P and you can pass by me." The other added, doing the same odd gestures as the other.
Sylva had seen enough. She'd been around thugs and "tough guys" far to often to care about their endless banter. She looked away, crossing her arms. Wixon looked up, spotting Sylva's expression. She then looked down toward one of the Pokemon before her; a Piplup. Wixon stepped forward, holding up her bone. The Piplup took one look at Wixon and scoffed at the little ground-type. "Yo, this one has a dope looking mon, The boss'd love to see that." The one with the Piplup mentioned. "You can pass if you beat me in a battle, or that Cubone is going to be your payment." He continued. Sylva quirked a brow, shaking her head. "I don't think so, It's six to one, or twelve to two, if you want to get technical." Actually as far as Pokemon went, it was well over that much, but she didn't want to bring up their Pokemon in reserve. "Yo, you think you're better than me?! I don't let no shark bait talk to me that way." And now a battle was inevitable. Wixon wasn't a good match up, but that didn't stop the Cubone from attempting, though once it became obvious she wasn't going to work on this battle, Sylva quickly swapped her out for another Pokemon who could use the training.

Once the girls were on their way, the quest for a map became the top priority. The nearby ferry station seemed like a good place to Luca--After all, people coming and going would probably benefit from knowing the layout to both the island they're going to, and the one they might be arriving on. But, her redheaded seemed to think otherwise, moving on before she had a chance to propose it. With a small shrug, the swordswoman followed close behind, making note of the gathering of people bunched up in their way. The crowd ahead of them then made way as a foreigner approached with a large blade resting upon their back, and allowed them to meet with the... enthused young men doing their best to play be the "tough guys". "Aw, that's cute," Luca teased, gently poking her partner with her elbow. "They think they're thugs."
"Hey hey hey!" The other man's eyes started bulging as he widened his stance, trying to look big and intimidating after hearing her. "Nobody gets to make fun of Team Skull and get away with it! Raichu, take that chick with a stick!" The man threw his arms down and crossed them over his chest, finally calling the pokemon at his side to action. The caramel-colored mouse was eager to rise to the occasion, glaring at Luca with sharp eyes and letting out a cry as it charged on its hovering tail.
And then it got punched in the face. Suddenly, the mouse let out a startled squeak and flew back into its trainer, sending them both tumbling to the floor as it fainted. The disembodied fist the psychic-type crashed into belonged to Xanthos, the Revelete popping out as soon as he felt a battle emerging. "Huh, I guess regional variants really are a thing. The Raichu back in Kanto certainly didn't look like that," She noted, not really acknowledging the skull-capped men as a threat. Or at least, not one that needed them to halt their conversation.
Meanwhile, the second of the two men was busy crawling out from under his own pokemon, returning it once he was free to grab its ball. "Don't think you've got us beat just yet," he tried to tell them, reaching for more of his pokemon. "Come on boys, we ain't earning rent if we get kicked around!" One after the other, the Skull grunt began throwing out one psychic type after another. Natu, Abra, Espeon, he seemed to have a full team of psychics prepared... Well, perhaps "prepared" was being generous, Luca thought, as she watched her ghost-type smack each one down as soon as they were released, completely knocking them out.
He seemed to have even more though, and went to keep the battle going with more, presumably weaker pokemon. Fortunately for everyone besides him, though, it would seem his attempts at being stylish and putting a flourish on his "comeback" were rather poorly thought out. The young man did a half-spin and prepared to chuck the ball from the side, only to let go a touch too early. In the second it took for him to realize it was gone from his hand, the pokeball had already gone sailing off the side of the docks. Beginning to freak out, he did the only thing a sane man could do when doing the equivalent to throwing away a piece of clothing that had their food money in it; chase after it once it's gone. Thus, one half of the dynamic duo quite aptly jumped ship, diving into the water and swimming with rather surprising speed towards the ejected ball.
"...Makes you wonder why he's not an athlete..." Luca mumbled.

Sylva offered a few nods as she trailed on alongside Luca. A school club sounded about right... they looked fairly young now that she'd thought about it. That mask couldn't hide the fact that their eyes were those of a teenager. Their entrance into the city from then on was uninterrupted. Hau'oli City wasn't entirely a city despite it's name. As far as Sylva was concerned at least. It was big, but not city worthy, she'd seen some small towns with more space. With a hotels which left the eye wanting, to a couple complexes that doubled as both store fronts and apartments, this place could likely pack quiet a few people in, but how many of those people actually lived here? Well, whatever, perhaps other places judged city to two to hamlets on a different scale than Sylva did? Whatever the case not long after passing by a few buildings and even a police station, they came across a large building with a sign stating it was the City Hall. "Oh, what about there?" Sylva pointed upwards to the sign. "If that place doesn't have a map of this city or island then I don't know who would."

That was actually a close call. It was a good thing Rattata had Quick Attack. Erryn grabbed a ball from her back and tossed it at the Grimer before it could slink away. She really should take it easy with all the Pokemon she was catching, but Erryn couldn't help it. She had wanted to see all of them.

With the morning sun, Avikna rose from her bed. Her head was pounding, and she didn't feel at all good. Looking back to the opposite bed she found Tay sprawled out with no blankets covering her, but her Pokemon happily gathered around her... likely why she had no covers on. A smile broke across Avikna's lips, seeing that sight... just made her feel better. Pushing up to her feet, she slowly made her way over Pokemon to the bathroom where she did a common morning routine for people, ending with a nearly fifteen minute stare down of herself in the mirror. For the first time she was actually seeing herself in a mirror... she looked horrible.
A bruise on her cheek, a bruise along her lower left eye, a scratch or two healing on her chin, cheek and forehead and a forming cold sore on her dry lips. Her hair... was even worse. Tattered and frayed, she honestly looked like she'd been in an accident of some kind. Well, there was nothing she could do about it, it would all heal eventually.
Leaving the bathroom, she was met with a few eyes looking in her direction. Tay had turned over, but most of her Pokemon were now awake. "Tay, Wake up. We're going to be leaving soon." Avikna called, though she didn't really put much effort into waking the teen up, she was in a rush but she also still had s**t to get together. Not long after she got dressed and pulled her growing hair into a simple pony did Tay break from sleep herself and sit up rubbing her eyes. "Aaaavi..." She yawned. "Good morning." She added, this time a bit more clearly. "Morning." Avikna replied. "Get ready we need to get moving while the day is young." She stated, turning to the teen. Vivi, her Type: Null had it's head pressed into Tay's side, attempting to push her up out of the bed. It was then Tay's eyes widened with excitement. It wasn't five minutes later that Tay was ready and eager to get moving.

As they headed out into the hallway, Avikna had to grab Tay by the shoulder before she darted off. "Where are you going in such a hurry?" The red-head inquired, looking down at the teen with a narrowed gaze. "Uh... Well..." She realized now... her promise came at a cost... "I kinda.. left the room last night." She started, glancing up to see Avikna's fierce, judging gaze beating down on her. "But it was for a good reason!" She continued. "I heard some bad guys mistreating some Pokemon and I went to help those Pokemon... and then I got in a fight, and... Well, the Pokemon are with Nurse Joy..." Bad guys? Of course... poachers most likely. Avikna couldn't really knock her, she'd of done the same thing.. still though. "Why didn't you wake me?" Avikna asked. Tay looked up, shrugging her shoulders. "You looked so tired... I didn't want to wake you up..." Avikna sighed at this. Yea, she did look tired... she was tired... and she had a bad headache... perhaps Nurse Joy would have something for it? "Let's go." Avikna finally stated, pushing Tay forward gently.

Tay was hands and chin to the counter... if she had a tail it'd be wagging at a frightening speed. "How are the Bulbasaur and Meganium doing?" Tay inquired. Just as she asked, the Meganium poked it's head around a corner and quickly, sloppily galloped it's way over to Tay. Avikna was taken aback by the Meganium's appearance. It wasn't at all what she'd expect of a Meganium. The Bulbasaur that sauntered behind it was normal though. "They've been eagerly waiting for you to wake up. The Meganium seems to have really taken a liking to you. I've also went and checked them in the PC, they both don't currently have trainers. So why don't you take them with you while Officer Jenny and her team look into where they may of came from?" Tay was overly eager to accept, but as she was mid-hug with the Meganium she looked back towards Avikna. "You're a trainer too, go ahead." Avikna replied simply. Tay practically beamed with light, eagerly grabbing a couple Pokeballs from her bag and drawn both inside... she was now two more Pokemon stronger.

With her two new Pokemon tucked safely into their pokeballs, Avikna and Tay then directed themselves out of the Pokemon Center. With a fresh wind under their sails, their pace was quick. Tay was eager to start her Island challenge, while Avikna was always down to train more. Route two wasn't far from the Pokemon Center, given how small Hau'oli city was. So it wasn't long before they were already far beyond the city and headed onto route two.
Tay quickly released Vivi from his ball, seeing as there were little to no People on the route, Avikna didn't mind. The Odd Pokemon needed a bit of training as well. Tay patted his side, then motioned towards a patch of grass. "Let's train, Avikna!" She called. And thus, their training continued finally.

As they entered the city, Luca seemed far more impressed with their surroundings than Sylva. Well, perhaps impressed wasn't the right word; more accurately, it seemed more like she was eager to see all the new buildings and the scenery on offer, taking in anything new with all the wonder of a kid on vacation. "You know, it's not a big place," she thought aloud, "but it's nice. Seems a lot more homey than cities like Castelia." Nodding at Luca's words, Sylva hadn't even thought about the Pokemon Center. She didn't really look at the map system at Pokemon Centers anyway. Whatever the case, the were here now, so might as well go inside and take a look at the place. After entering the girls were met with a large lobby situated with several benches for visitors to sit. At the back of the lobby was a large counter with several people waiting to assist people. Sitting against the counter were several racks that held various brochures and pamphlets. Several of which labeled events, sightseeing spots and even several maps of at Mele Mele island.
Wandering across the lobby to the pamphlets, Sylva plucked one with a map of Mele Mele on it's cover. "Well, if all we can find is a map of the island we're on, it's good enough.. I guess." She muttered, flopping it open. The inside of the pamphlet was a large overview map of the island, various lines directed the eyes to a more detailed image of various points of interest. "Beach, beach, beach... Meadow.... Well this is an island." She voiced. It seems they weren't really going to escape the ocean, unless they headed to that meadow of a few of the various caves... "Oh, whats this? Trial site? What does that mean?" Sylva's gaze lifted to Luca.

All too eager to keep moving, Luca followed her companion into city hall, her gaze wandering all about once they were inside. There wasn't too much to look at though--save for some of the receptionists the swordswoman's gaze lingered on long enough to be noticed--so there was nothing to drive her attention away from the little rack of brochures that the redhead spotted. She continued to trail behind Sylva until she picked up one of the maps to look at, before she grabbed one herself.
"What, don't you want to strap on some swimwear and catch fire in the sunlight?" She teased, partially amused at her tone. "It's not like a day at the beach would kill you." The redhead suddenly poked her head up from the map to look at her friend, curious about what the "Trial Site" is. It took Luca a moment to find the spot on the map she was referring to before she replied. "Oh, I think they're essentially Alolan Gyms? I didn't get a chance to look into it too much, but I believe they've all got some sort of twist to them that has to do with tradition... Though, I couldn't tell you if they still do that or not."
