I just looked on the GW website. crying it appears ther're making temple guard a special choice ... gonk
PostPosted: Sat Dec 27, 2008 1:46 am
ok...that seems silly then theres going to be a lack of core choices.
I love having a Temple guard unit.

NEW STEGADON £25 FTW Wow £25 read it up in januarys White Dwarf they always Release it early before new year.
and it says in the Stegadons Description:

Stegadons are a race of mighty beasts that dwell deep within the lustrian jungles. the Lizardmen capture and use these hulking brutes as weapons of war, laden with massive boltthrowers or Infernal Magical engines capable of mass Destruction.

nothing on Plastic terradons though.

A plastic Stegadon would make for a cheap and easy to convert Squiggoth for orks.

you'd need to resculpt the head though wouldn't you?

Yep, but it looks "un-squiggy" to me with all that flabby fat!

But in the hands of a great sculptor and converter it could work, but it'd be pretty small, even for a squiggoth, and no I'm not comparing it with the gargauntan squiggoth, rather the normal squiggoth.

i'm not sure about lizardmen anymore, gw is turning this into hero-hammer, you need all these expensive heroes to get like the super perks or go with a mundain character that's good for nothing but combat rez or being a scroll caddie.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 19, 2009 10:57 pm
Nah, there are certain restricting things about "hero centric" armies.

For example, some of the lizzy's characters.

Mazamundi is a beast. That is well and acceptable. However, normal slanns get the protection of a rank and file unit. Plus, your standard lord choice slann can be given far better upgrades for casting. I.E. the extra die, the "6s count as 0s" on another wizard, and all that jazz. Frankly, your average slann is cheaper and far more effective.

Chalax is ok. Yeah, he makes the unit unbreakable.... So? Dude, Temple Guard are already immune to psychology and stubborn. With a slann bsb right? That unit isn't going to budge anyway.

I could go on.

Mundane characters are better suited for awesomeness. biggrin

i agree totally, but to sound contradictory to myself, yet limit it to one character, gor'rok is an awesome scarvet substitute.

and i have a new list i'm guna post in the list thread later if you guy's would like to critique it.
