"Hey, kid. Where... What are you doing here? And where is here?"

"You don't remember? You asked me to get you to a hospital," Utsuki replied, trying to get the last bits of sleepiness from his eyes. "I was really worried, you know. For all we know, you could have caught pneumonia or something."

Kenichi smirked. "You were worried about me, huh? Nice to know last night wasn't a complete waste of energy. Hallucinated last night... saw a woman who looked a lot like you." He sounded like a weak sucker, but he couldn't stop the words from coming.

"That's weird," Utsuki muttered, suddenly feeling sad. He then took out a picture of his mother from his pack. "Was this the woman you saw?" The woman in the picture had long golden-brown hair and green eyes, and she was smiling at the camera she held in front of her in an attempt to take a picture of herself. It seemed pretty successful by the looks of things.

Kenichi grunted. "Yeah. That's her. Creepy on several levels. She's kinda pretty for a chick."

Utsuki put away the picture, but was now confused. "That's strange. If i didn't know better, I'd say you saw my mom's ghost or something."

Kenichi laughed dryly. "I don't believe in ghosts or anything supernatural like that. I probably was just hallucinating."

"But isn't it weird that you thought you saw my mom?" Utsuki asked. "I don't think I showed you a picture of her or anything before."

"Yeah. I suppose it's weird. I don't chalk it up to ghosts and the like, though."

"It must have been a coincidence, then." Utsuki sighed and stared out the lit window. He began to wonder if his father was looking for him right now. It wasn't likely that such a thing would be happening, though.

Kenichi was growing tired of the talk of ghosts and coincidences. He turned on his side and propped his head in his hand. "Say, kid. What are you doing here anyway? Don't you have your own posh house to return to?"

Utsuki felt a pang in his heart. He didn't know what to say. Of course he should tell Kenichi that he left the house, finally tired of living with an unappreciative father, but somehow those words wouldn't come out.

Kenichi raised an eyebrow. "Kid, are you mad at me again for whatever reason? What are you doing here and not at home?"

"I don't have a home anymore," Utsuki finally said, somehow regretting that he spoke at all. "I bet my dad's really happy now that I left."

Kenichi was surprised, then angry. "You left? Why would you do that?! You had a roof over your head, and you barely interacted with the old man! Where are you going to to go? Are you just going to live on the streets?! Because I live on the streets, kid, and a kid like you wouldn't survive."
