Seeing the spirit smiled, Izanagi is a bit relieved. He admit he is kind of stupid though...
"And you're not as big a brat as you think you are."
Izanagi smirked at that. "I take it as a compliment." He thought Umeda had suffered enough. The young man wish he can do something for Umeda before the spirit died. The spirit chose to protect Izanagi from the shadow of his own past. It is the only way the spitit can prove himself useful. Without thinking too much, Izanagi has decided to help Umeda complete this noble ambition.
After Umeda left the room, Izanagi sit on the futon. The room is so quiet... And without Umeda here, somehow...the silence in the room let him feel strange. Head started to turn from side to side, having a better look at his surrounding, in this room. There...is NOTHING he can do in here. Only antiques! He wouldn't want to simply touch at anything. Afraid that he might get them scratched or broke them. Well actually there is something he can do... First thing ever cross in Izanagi's mind is his iPod. He thought in such silence and new environment, maybe listening to some music while waiting for Umeda to come back will be nice? He start to look for his bag. Izanagi has his eyes slowly scan across the room. Ah! There, he found his cellphone on antique wooden cabinet. As for his bag. His bag...He realized his bag has been...
...... .......
It has been left behind on the train. "...Curses." He said it grumpily, but a little bit sadness in his voice. Imagine Izanagi knelt down on the floor, not praying but he is cursing a lot and his body is releasing a depressing aura with a gloomy background. So let's rewind to the scene where Umeda and Izanagi are on the train, when Izanagi is suffering in his bad dream. Izanagi was attacked by Oume and Kenichi that time. The kodama slapped the boy's face so hard in his tiny spirit form. But that didn't wake Izanagi up... Therefore Umeda turned back to his corporeal human form, pull Izanagi out from that cube and they jumped off the train...
...... .......
And that was how Izanagi's bag was left behind...on that train. End of story. His iPod, his ID card, money, school uniform, some textbooks...even his shoes. Also, the most important, his toothbrush!? It's quite late to go to the train station to get back his bag now. He will have to wait until tomorrow morning. Sighed, he couldn't do anything now but to wait. "At least I still have my cellphone with me." He comfort himself. Thinking of his things being left behind on that train remembered him how all this happens. If it wasn't him being emotional because getting jealous of Iemon... If he didn't leave Umeda's side and went back to the cube on his own... If he didn't really fell asleep... Oume and Kenichi never be able to find him in that dream. Umeda will not be injured. His energy will not be sucked out and seen all those memories. Also, his bag and shoes will not left behind... However, if these did not happen, he probably will never know about Umeda's 'last act' and his noble ambition. The spirit is doing this BECAUSE OF Iemon...But what he really do is FOR Izanagi. It is an exchange of life for life. Umeda will die to keep Izanagi alive. He will not let Umeda's ambition and hard work to be ruined. The young man believe he will live long. Long enough to able to see his cousins to get married, having children. Then, their children will grow up, married and has their own children as well. He wondered if he will get himself a wife in the future...or a husband? Mm...marrying Umeda seems like something he would do. Heh, that was only if Umeda is still living...He knew he will never forget this kodama forever. And he don't want to forget every single moment he had with Umeda. Every single moment with the spirit...will become a special, precious memory. Flipping open his cellphone, he suddenly has an idea. "Hi! This is Tamiya Izanagi here." He waved at the camera. The boy switched on video mode in his cellphone. He is recording himself. "I'm currently in Seimeijinja, Kyoto. Tell you what, this place is AMAZING! Check out the antiques in this room." He took a panning shoot across the room. "This room belongs to a very special person named Umeda Noe. I came here with him. Guess what? We even jump off the train on the way here and my bag and shoes were left behind in there, haha! Unbelievable isn't it?" He turn the camera back at himself.
"I've brought the sutra." A voice came from outside interrupted the shooting progress. The door was slide opened after that. It was Umeda. "Oh and, I changed clothes. Whoever put me in that damned Yukata, which I'm guessing was Hakase, forgot my disgust with men's clothing of that era. It was all too damn loose, if you ask my opinion. No doubt he thought it a fun joke... the pudgy b*****d." F*ck! Umeda is so damn beautiful in a kimono. It stunned Izanagi. Great, now Izanagi's blushie face has been recorded into the video. He move the camera to the spirit. "And who we have here? The owner of this room, Umeda Noe." Izanagi zoomed out the camera so that Umeda's full body image will fit in the screen. "He look gorgeous, isn't he?" He has the camera zoomed in later to have a closer and clear look of Umeda's face. "Just...something is missing." The boy curved his lips said. "Yeah, it will be perfect if he has woman boobs." Izanagi laughed at his own silly comment to the kodama...

The kodama really couldn't help it... His left eye twitched slightly at the cellphone camera. "Mocking me isn't going to keep me from kicking Hakase's a**, you do realize that, don't you Izanagi?" Umeda asked, actually teasing with his remark.
He moved carefully through the room, dark gaze averted from the camera, never actually making eye-contact with the recording device. In truth, Noe didn't mind if his image was caught on film or digital or whatever the hell it was these days. Just not his eyes... at least not directly. There'd be hell to pay for the first person to do that. After all, there was a reason people once thought that camera's could catch your soul...
"Gorgeous yes... having breasts though... I'd rather not. Too many men seem to be attracted to them for my taste." he laughed slightly, "At least I know they're not transfixed by cleavage when they're staring at me." Another teasing comment... something that the spirit hadn't actually meant to do. But for some reason, Izanagi's suddenly capricious mood was putting him at ease. Somewhat...
"By the way..." the elder man spoke, opening a sliding door to reveal a closet... and a rather familiar bag on the floor of it. "Hakase had someone pick up your luggage at the station. He figured I didn't have time to grab it when I flung us out of a moving train." Another tease, but this time it was accompanied by a sarcastic smirk thrown Izanagi's way. Still though, he made certain to keep his eye-contact off the camera itself.
Carefully kneeling, the kimono smoothed down in just the right spots, Umeda knelt in front of the open porch doors, his back to the sakura. "I need you," he spoke, sutra in hand, "to kneel across from me. Without the camera, please. If you want a stronger barrier around your mind and memories... now's the perfect time."
(((OOC: OKAY here's what happened to me to make me all MIA, hehe. Sunday I got home from work then went BACK to work to eat dinner. When I got home I was feeling kinda bleh so I went to bed. Monday... I was hit with my worst flu in memory. I ended up being curled into a ball of agony and misery Mon-Thurs. Friday, I actually started to feel better... but Mon-Thurs I was so sick I couldn't get out of bed. I didn't sleep at all Monday or Wednesday. The sucky thing was I worked every day last week, so I had to call in and miss a week of work! I felt so horrible about it! But then I felt better on Friday and then went to work Saturday evening. I worked this morning too, so now I'm alive! Oh, but I'll be out of town Tues and Wednesday (maybe not Wed night). I don't work tomorrow though, thank goodness...)))

Izanagi looked at the spirit's image he caught in his cellphone. He thinks Umeda looks beautiful in every angle inside the screen. But it cannot be compare with the real one. Afterall, an image is still an image. The real thing always look better. His eyes couldn't stop staring at this beautiful and attractive creature.

To Izanagi, he can only giggle and shrug at that. Talk about age, Umeda may be a lot older than Hakase. But in the surface, Hakase looks older and much weaker than Umeda. Why does Umeda dislike Hakase so much? He has been treating the old monk badly...like a slave... Even though Umeda used his power on Hakase earlier, the monk does not seem to be mad of it. Perhaps, it was because he knew Umeda is dying... The camera follows Umeda as he moved through the room. There comes another teasing comment from the spirit.

Oh what the hell does that mean? Was Umeda refering to Izanagi? The young man blush slightly at the comment. Be cool, Izanagi. You know he is just teasing and want to see your priceless face... He tell himself to keep cool inwardly. Until...

Izanagi saw his bag inside the closet. Yes, he recognize it because the bag is orange color. Such bright color that he can he see it from quite a distance. Oh he saw the sarcastic smirk from Umeda. And the teases... They did annoy him a little. Three teasing combo from Umeda. Nevertheless, he is glad that his bag was found. The young man rush to the closet, with the cellphone still on his hand. Unzipping the bag, he skimmed over the stuff inside and then turn back to see the spirit kneeling in front of the porch doors with a sutra in his hand.
"I need you to kneel across from me. Without the camera, please. If you want a stronger barrier around your mind and memories... now's the perfect time."
Izanagi put back his bag into the closet and place his cellphone on the cabinet. He later kneel across from Umeda like the spirit said. Hands on his laps. Looking serious. He know what is the sutra for. As for how does it works and how Umeda is going to do it, he don't know.

With Izanagi properly seated on the floor across from him, Umeda's expression grew intensely serious. In fact, he was about to do something that went totally against his "cool" exterior. There was a reason why he had made Seimeijinja his home for so long... and also a reason why Hakase respected him, even given all the s**t that the kodama tended to give the kannushi.
Umeda had the power to back up his words... and the power to command even the strictest of Shinto Priests' respect.
Placing the sutra on the floor between himself and Izanagi, the kodama carefully put his hands on the tatami mat and bowed low twice. When he straightened, he clapped his hands together two times, before repeating that bow once. Then, the dark abyss that was the kodama's eyes closed and Umeda folded his hands just above his lap and below his stomach at the Tanden. Thumb tips touching once another, his hands cradled together to form a circle with his thumbs at the top.
Then he spoke, his voice soft at first, but slowly picking up in volume and intensity. "Hito. Futa. Mitsu. Yotsu. Itsu. Mutsu. Nana. Yatsu. Kokono. Tari. Momo. Chi. Yorozu. Hito. Futa. Mitsu. Yotsu. Itsu. Mutsu. Nana. Yatsu. Kokono. Tari. Momo. Chi. Yorozu. Hito. Futa. Mitsu. Yotsu. Itsu. Mutsu. Nana. Yatsu. Kokono. Tari. Momo. Chi. Yorozu." the spirit chanted, his eyes opening to fix directly on the sutra by the end of the counting.
"A. Ji. Ma. Ri. Ka. N!" almost dramatically, Umeda's hands changed positions and went out to his sides, arms stretched outward. Then, he carefully brought his arms up, palms facing skyward, eyes never leaving the sutra once. Using the Goten Gassho, he rose his arms until his hands were above his head, all five fingertips touching one another and forming yet another circle. The kodama left his hands like that for a moment, breathing in deeply, before bringing his hands, fingertips still together, down the center of his body until they rested, once again, at the Tanden.
Once more, Umeda's strong voice spoke out, his intense gaze pinned on the sutra. "Ana appare. Ana tanoshi. Ana omoshiro. Ana saake. Oke!" with the loud ending of this newest prayer, his hands changed their position for a third time. Fingers interlaced before him, with each index finger pointing straight up, Umeda moved his hands to be parallel with his chest in the Furutama position before moving into his next chant.
By now, the room was no longer the same in certain aspects... Mainly because Umeda was glowing... his light drowning out the light outside and the illumination of the room within. Everything paled in comparison to the spirit in that moment... except for one single thing. The sakura behind him. It's own pink hue threw the colors of the glow into disarray, blanketing everything in a faint pink light, everything except Umeda, who's white glow was, no doubt, breathtaking.
"Tokoshie ni onore no aran kagiri ni wa mitama kiyome no michi wa tayumaji." the man spoke clearly, his voice strong and intoxicating.
Then, as if by a hand unseen, the sutra rose into the air, covered in the same white glow as the kodama, and floated toward Umeda until it placed itself between his two risen index fingers.
"Ame tsuchi wo tsukuri tamaeshi mioya yori mitama wo ukeshi ware koso ware wa." With blinding reflexes, Umeda's fingers moved and the trapped sutra flew across the room to slam squarely into Izanagi's chest.
In an instant, the prayer was over and everything went back to normal. The light filtered in, birds chirping could be heard outside once again, and the antique decor stood out as beautifully as it had before. No longer was Umeda glowing, nor was the sutra that fluttered down to land in Izanagi's lap.
"Keep it with you at all times." the kodama spoke with a smile, his intensely serious demeanor lifting. "Especially when I'm not around. It will shield you from intrusion by outside forces... and will help keep the memories of Iemon at bay..... for a time." But even after the prayer and the strengthening of the barrier around Izanagi's own soul... Umeda didn't move. He remained kneeling where he was, that soft smile... almost a tired smile really, fixed in place.
However, it was another voice, that of Hakase who was standing in the room's doorway, that caught both of their attention. "The sutra has latched onto the signature of your Aramitama and Nigimitama... but the signature of your Sachimitama and Kushimitama are still very distinctly that of Iemon. Your Physical and Astral bodies are your own, while your Mental and Casual bodies belong to your past."
Umeda rolled his eyes slightly, "Which is why he remembers his past life. His Sachimitama, the sentiments of Iemon, are in the wrong damn body. They should have passed on after he died, and I'm guessing strongly that the Sachimitama and Kushimitama both latched onto that damned sword and road around until JUST the right person... in other words, Izanagi." sighing, the kodama looked back to the young man before him. "In other words, the philosophy of 'one spirit, four souls' is more like 'two spirits, four souls' in your case. WHICH... is why you need the barrier."
"Which you repaired?" Hakase asked, setting down the sake-esque jar of sakura extract near the doorway. By the paleness of the kodama's skin, it was clear as day to the priest that Umeda needed it.
Noe laughed darkly, "Of course I did. Just because I'm far more worldly than a priest... doesn't mean I don't have the spiritual power to far outdo one." he scoffed at the notion that he wasn't as powerful as he used to be. He had the power and the ways to channel it. Of course... there were always consequences to that power...
"Before you vomit up more blood," Hakase spoke, entering the room fully and closing the doors of the porch. "Get some rest. That sort of power isn't something one uses every day."
Rolling his eyes once more, Umeda looked away from both Hakase and Izanagi. "I'm fine, baka." the kodama spoke, though he still didn't stand up. Mainly because, Noe knew, if he DID stand up... well... vomiting blood would probably be the least of his problems...
(((OOC: GIANT OOC OF TRANSLATIONS HERE! First off... gomen! I used different aspects of Yamakage Shinto's CHINKON ritual for what Umeda did. To be honest, I didn't want to go a Buddhist route because Umeda's Shinto... and finding stuff on Shinto is HARD. SO... I kinda pulled random bits of the Chinkon from the book "The Essence of Shinto" by Motohisa Yamakage. So please, don't kill me for what I did, hehe. I'm very uneducated in the ways of Shinto, though because I tend to like Shinto Religiously based characters... I'm trying to educate myself further. Now, I know that Umeda does use a sutra... and I suppose it should really be called (or could be called rather) a Hakuhei, but because I started out with Sutra... I kept it. Gomen... I just liked the shape and idea of a Sutra more than the shape of the Hakuhei... TRANSLATIONS:Kannushi = Head Shinto Priest Tanden = The place just below the belly button. Hito. Futa. Mitsu. Yotsu. The work of manifesting the individual in the physical world and maintaining the individual. Also the work of destroying everything and causing new life to emerge. In abundance it is good for the endocrine system and produces good physical health reflected in a lithe, youthful appearance and healthy skin. When too strong there is a tendency to overwork or indulge in an intemperate lifestyle, making the person too sensitive and easily influenced by evil thoughts, malice, or bad vibes. When too weak, the person ages prematurely in mind, body, and spirit. Also goes through a disintegration process, but takes more time than Aramitama. Part of the Nigimitama becomes the base for contact between this world and the lower astral world. Sachimitama = Hidden Soul. The work of harmonizing the Universe. Governs and controls the faculty of the senses and reproductive organs and balances the physical body. Governs the senses, passion, love, harmonious consciousness, and the desire to study or question. Represents the Mental body in Theosophy and the Subtle body in Spiritualism. In abundance leads to emotional riches and acute sensibility resulting in artistic temperament and interests. A person tends to make a favorable impression on others and be refined with elegant tastes. Too strong can make the person temperamental or hysterical, driven by passing fancies or transient passions, making them self-indulgent and lustful. Too weak and there is a loss of sensibility and an inability to feel or be moved by anything with a mood of inertia giving rise to indolence, lethargy, depression, and insecurity. Passes on in the afterlife as part of the Naohinomitama with Kushimitama. Concerned with the function of love and sentiment, it can't gain clarity and brightness without purification thus keeping it impure pulling down the Naohinomitama as it ascends in the afterlife. Kushimitama = Hidden Soul. The work of the original power stimulating creativity and birth, transforming ideas into actual form. Governs human life as the force for generating and transforming human beings through the nerves, etc. Governs the operation of life energy, which incorporates and integrates external stimuli and mental events, renovating and transforming. Governs the desire to seek mystery, desire for creative contemplation, and the ability of intuition and apperception. Represents the Casual body in Theosophy and the Light body in Spiritualism. In abundance gives intuitive ability and a strong spiritual sense along with wisdom and self-regulation, thinking along intelligent lines to be rich in spirit and achieve physical equilibrium. In balance, allows the manifestation and maintaining of mystical powers, allowing for apperception and travel or communication with upper-level worlds. Too strong can cause hypersensitivity and psychosis, making the liver or spleen overly sensitive and easily excited causing diabetes and high blood pressure. Physical exercise helps to stem an abundance of Kishimitama. If weak, there is a loss of willpower and coherent thought or action. Self-preservation is reduced and risks of neurasthenic conditions or amnesia. Facial expressions that lack energy, demeanor characterized by lack of emotion and aridity or meanness of spirit can also occur. Passes on in the afterlife as part of the Naohinomitama with Sachimitama. Concerned with the function of thinking and integrating, aka wisdom or reason itself, it can't gain clarity and brightness without purification thus keeping it impure pulling down the Naohinomitama as it ascends in the afterlife. (( ... The first thing I see when I enter this page is the translation & explaination. I was like "????". And then I'm like "Oh noes...what are these xD". Was in a hurry to go out, so I just skim over your post. It stucked in my head but I can't see the actual scene/picture...lol. I keep reading over and over later that. @_@" I still don't get the picture of Umeda glowing...xD I sit on my chair about 2 hours JUST trying to get the picture. I'm laughing at myself but nearly cry when I start typing this. *Deep breath* I Don't Know HOW to reply this Dx T^T...!~ ._. I s.uck. I'm not fully educated in ways of Shinto as well, so don't worry about it.)) The moment Izanagi knelt down, he is a bit worry of the spirit's health condition. He know Umeda is tired. But why force himself to do this right now? He tend to ask...
But before he is able to speak, the spirit has already started to chanting spells. The young man do not want to interrupt the spirit in the middle of the prayer. He was afraid that Umeda might be harm by the reflection of the spell if he stops him now. Actually, he wasn't sure what will happen if he interrupts. It was just basic knowledge he learned from TV series and movies. Izanagi kept quiet and let the spirit continue as he watches a total different Umeda, concentrating in the spell. It cracks him much that he couldn't help but raised a quizzical eyebrow at Umeda. The Umeda Noe he know always keep his cool. This...This is so NOT like the Umeda he know. ( @_@ open anonther tab to read your post again. god save me xD!! *brain dead* ) As Umeda closed his eyes, infinite darkness falls over them. Watching every single move the spirit is making, every circle he formed, every word of the chanting spell, quietly... For some inexplicable reason, the darkness is creeping out the young man. Eyes focused on the kodama. Keeping himself as calm as possible.
He was quite shocked at the sudden strong voice Umeda made. Body stiffed, sweating. Izanagi grips his fist tightly. But he looses the fist and eyes opening wide, slowly... What the heck?! The kodama is..glowing?! He couldn't believe his eyes. Thought it was an illusion. OK. So the kodama really is glowing! Now that the whole place is bright with sakura petals glowing pink in disorganized state behind Umeda... Wow, is this heaven or what? Izanagi thought inwardly. The spirit spoke with a string voice again. This time, the sutra floats up and glow as the spirit. Once the sutra has been trapped. It flew across the room and hit directly to Izanagi's chest. After that, everything seems to be back to normal. Izanagi pick up the sutra which had fluttered down to his lap. Realizing it is the end of the prayer he also realized it is morning already... The young man look up when the spirit talk to him and then at the sutra again. "I will...keep it with me, all the time." He replied in soft voice. Since the prayer has ended. It is time for Umeda to get some rest.
Yes. Now is the perfect time to ask Umeda to rest. Unfortunately, before he can open his mouth to say anything, he heard Hakase's voice right outside the doorway. Listened to what the old kannushi said. At first, Izanagi do not understands what was the suppose to mean and how he end up being as the descendant. With a more detail explaination from Umeda, he know it now. There is a conversation going on between the spirit and kannushi. Hakase is coaxing the spirit to get some rest. However, the spirit seems to be keeping his cool. Strengthening that he is fine. Izanagi let Umeda keep his cool. He take the sutra with him and stand up.
"Uhm, Hakase-sama, Umeda-san...I know it's rude to interrupt when people talking but may I be excused? I'm tired, you see..." Smiling slightly, he said. He hoped like this, Hakase will leave Umeda and him alone. Since they both really need to rest. Besides, if Umeda was trying to be cool. To be honest, he is quite hungry right now since he had nothing to fill his stomach last night. But at the same time, he is too tired to go anywhere and a good sleep is all he need. After Hakase has left the room, Izanagi walk to his futon with the sutra. He sits on it, then look back to the spirit. "Umeda-san..." He paused a while. Smiled. "Arigatou." That was all he can say to him. With the sutra, Izanagi won't be seeing anymore flashbacks or memories and have nightmares for now. "Come to bed when you feel like it." He meant the kodama should get some sleep too when he is able to stand up without any problem. He carefully placed the sutra beside his pillow, cover himself with the blanket and then close his eyes. If you think Izanagi had fall asleep, then you are wrong. He was pretending. (((OOC: Gomen gomen! I really didn't mean to make you confused and then I read your OOC and I just cracked up laughing. I'm sorry! I don't mean to laugh! I just, I know how it feels to stare at a post for a few hours and go, 'what the hell do I say to that?!' the entire time. You don't suck, you're just having a moment of, 'WTF?!' which happens on occasion. Happens to me a lot, just ask Gal or Kai in Shounen POP, hehe. But take your time in replying. Oh, just so you know, I'll probably be MIA until Thursday. I'm going out of town Tuesday morning and won't be back till probably late Wednesday night. I just didn't want you to think I died. Hakase left without any incident, and once alone with Izanagi, Umeda felt like he could at least let some of his guard down. Thus, the kodama frowned, watching Izanagi carefully for a long moment before speaking. "Get some sleep. You need it to continue your recovery. I can't give you any of my energy right now... so you'll have to get it back on your own." That frown became somewhat of a half smile.
When Izanagi seemed to be asleep... after ten minutes had passed... Umeda finally moved. Though perhaps, not in the manner one would think. His body shifted, ceasing to be corporeal. When it seemed that even this wasn't enough, his human form shrunk in on itself to reveal the spirit's true being. Tiny as he was, Noe was able to move now, no longer trying to conserve his own energy. Walking through the closed porch doors, completely out of the room itself, Umeda moved to lay one grey hand-like arm on the sakura's trunk. 'Kuso... I can't even get INTO the damn tree...' he thought angrily to himself, knowing that while the sakura recognized him... it didn't accept him. It had been a long time since he had even spoken to the tree, after all... Wind shifted, and the kodama frowned. "Well, if you hadn't noticed, I've been busy." he spoke, seemingly to no one. But again there was a rustling and shifting of the sakura's branches. "You're not going to let me in, are you?" he asked, shocked by this notion. "Not even like this? I'm tiny! I won't..." sighing, Umeda nodded. "Wakatta yo..." The kodama's voice was soft, as if he had just been scolded. Sighing, Umeda turned around and simply leaned against the tree, sitting on the ground near the trunk. His large dark eyes closed and he fell into a peaceful healing sleep. Of course, he hated the fact that he KNEW Izanagi would be able to see him even if no one else could... and this small form... well... there were many times when the kodama was embarrassed by it. He was tiny and childlike in appearance... so small... when he really wanted nothing more than to appear as a beautiful man for the world to see. If his body could have stood the transformation while he healed, he would have remained as he was. In this state however, one could easily see how drained the tiny spirit was. He had turned more of a grey color than his usual white, and, of course, his round abyss-like eyes were closed... a rare sight indeed. Even the usual air around the kodama, the tiny glow that the spirit seemed to have in this form, was nonexistent. Umeda was strangely cold... and now he hurt, badly... so badly in fact that he wanted to disappear INTO the sakura tree. And yet that tree... had rejected him. Of course, he had no idea that Izanagi wasn't asleep... nor that the young man was probably watching him closely.

It is so quiet. Izanagi didn't open his eyes. He knew the kodama is still sitting there, not making any movement yet. What is he doing? I wonder... Izanagi is worry. He is worry about Umeda. Remain to be awake, even though he is at his limit too. Exhausted... But the young man is able to keep himself from falling asleep. That is because...He is clear to what he is doing and why he is doing this. Izanagi, as a human, weak and powerless right now... He know he can't protect the kodama or stop him from dying. All he can do now is... Umeda-san no yume, watashi wa mamoru... To live on and help Umeda's dream to become true. This is the only thing I can do for now. I hope it is ok. Eyes remain closed. Dare not to open. He is sure the kodama is watching him. If he open his eyes and tell the kodama "Get your a** in the bed now!"...That would be interesting. However, he understands they both do not have such energy to do so. Ten minutes was not a short time for him. He felt like he has been lying there very long. And there finally, Umeda had made a move. Izanagi could hear noise from the tatami floor. With this, he know Umeda is fine now. But he is still worry. There aren't any footsteps nor he can feel the kodama has returned to his own futon. Then...
"Well, if you hadn't noticed, I've been busy."
This funny voice...Did Umeda just turned back into his true form? Who the heck he is talking to? Izanagi is getting curious. But he did not open his eyes. At least, if he keep pretending to be asleep, he will get to listen everything, he thought.
"You're not going to let me in, are you? Not even like this? I'm tiny! I won't..."
Did Umeda just reply to someone? Who is it? I can't even hear the other person's voice!
... ...
Weird. Umeda has stopped talking now. Did the person left? Not going to let me in. Tiny... What does that mean? It does not seems the kodama has returned to the room as well. Did he left with the person? Was it...even a person he was talking to? Questions. He just have to see with his own eyes. Leaving his futon, the young man walked out from the room. There is one huge sakura tree just right outside of the room. larger than any others outside the temple. Pink petals falling down from the tree, dancing along with the mild wind. Where could Umeda be? Did he really is gone? He looked across the garden before spotting the tiny grey thing sitting near the tree trunk, with eyes closed. Carefully and quietly, he take a closer look at the kodama. Gaze at the tiny creature as he is crouching only a few centimeters away. Izanagi did not want to disturb the kodama from his healing sleep. It is sad. He has realize how powerless and useless he is. To be unable to protect the person he dear. On the other hand, it is sad to see this person suffering and dying slowly in front of him. Looked back up to the tree again, he now know the kodama was talking to this tree. Izanagi layed his hand on the tree trunk, hoping the tree can feel and hear him. This will be the craziest thing he'll do. Connecting to a tree! "I do not know if you are listening." He speak inwardly. " But I love Umeda-san. What I know now is that Umeda-san needs you. This might be his last time to talk to you..." He furrowed and his hand is pressing against the tree. "So please help him. I beg you!...I can't lose him right now. I don't want him to die." A warm teardrop fall off on the tree trunk from the young man's cheek. He never want Umeda to die. Learning to accept the truth had given so much damage to his heart. No matter how strong Izanagi seem to be. His human heart is his biggest weakness. As if he can bear this much with him. Will the tree heard Izanagi's voice and be touched by his love towards Umeda?

"You're not going to lose me... baka..." Umeda spoke, his voice tiny and more high pitched in his true form. Black eyes were open, watching Izanagi carefully. "I'm just tired, that's all. I wanted to sleep in the tree, but she doesn't want me. She's pissed that I left for so long." Standing, Umeda's form shifted and he became corporeal... and back into his human guise. "I didn't want to worry you..." he replied softly, gently reaching out one hand and wiping away Izanagi's tears. "Seems like I did though. I'll be fine, yakusoku. I just need to sleep." The kodama was being gentle, and while he knew that went against his usual nature, he couldn't help it. Izanagi was worried about him, really REALLY worried... and that touched something in his soul.

The kodama shouldn't be able to hear him unless there is some connection between the tree and him. Or Umeda is able to hear things around him even though he is asleep. This is so embarassing. Umeda saw him cry!
Umeda, returned his corporeal form in front of Izanagi. When Umeda's hand touched the young man's face, helping him to wipe off his tears. It made Izanagi's face slightly went red. Quickly, the young man grab Umeda's hand and put it down. "Stay in your tiny form. Don't waste anymore energy..." Izanagi sound angry here. But he was not angry at the kodama. He could never angry at him. It was just Izanagi embarassed himself. He run back to the room like a wind after that and cover himself inside the blanket. The blush on his face never fade away since Umeda touched him. But at that moment...It was cold. Umeda hand was cold. Although Izanagi can't stop worrying about the kodama. It can't be helped. If the kodama himself said he will be fine. Then he better be. Besides, Umeda made a promise... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 最後の願いを叶えるのだとしたら

That... hadn't been the reaction which the kodama had anticipated. Umeda paused, watching as Izanagi dashed back indoors and seemed to be... angry? 'No, he's not angry... he's... embarrassed?'[/i[ That notion was odd. After all, what did the young man have to be embarrassed about? "Izanagi, I..." but Noe's voice cut off as the tree spoke to him. The spirit blushed slightly. "O... oh..." he cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck in his own embarrassment. The sakura had communicated to him what Izanagi was feeling. Aside from the fact that the tree had also told him what the young man was saying earlier... the ancient sakura could easily pick up on the boy's emotions. Stepping back indoors, Umeda carefully closed the sliding doors to the porch, behind him. He moved silently, the kimono clinging to him naturally. "Gomen nasai..." Noe spoke softly before kneeling on the futon directly behind Izanagi. "I... I really didn't want you to worry. I'll change back if you want me to." And he truly meant that.
