miss_flow Nebelstern I usually hide from chavs. They scare me. I avoid them, at least in Town. Or I try to...
They are quite intimidating. Being the small, feeble being that I am, cowardice rules supreme. gonk Yeah they are with they're hoodies... Around my 'area' there are gangs of them. I just walk quickly past. I've worn a hoodie before. It didn't really suit, but the irony was delightful..

I've worn hoodies since I was 14 and I'm not about to stop because they've been adopted by rude-boys.

Fourcolour I've worn hoodies since I was 14 and I'm not about to stop because they've been adopted by rude-boys. Not rude boys, a rude boy is someone who likes ska (also known as a rudie) I love my hoodies, but I only wear the hood up if it is raining cos otherwise I look silly, there is no way Im stopping wearing a hoodie just because of gangs of chavs.

Rudie can't fail...

I'm still surprised they entered the word 'Chav' into the dictionary.

Arcsun I'm still surprised they entered the word 'Chav' into the dictionary. Me too. I didn't realise they put base insults based on someone's style of dress and economic status in serious dictionaries but I was proven wrong.

I'd be gutted if people thought I was a charv.

Wait, what? Hoodies are now associated with being a charv?
Funny, they used to be associated with the goth kiddies, the teeny boppers. You know, those who are non comformist, just like everyone else?

Yeah, my old friend, a chav, described herself as a rude girl and I was just like 'no, your a chav' Ah, little teeny goths in hoodies, I remember the days when I was one of those!

I too had a teeny goth phase. Thankfully, I locked into punk properly and realised just how stupid dressing a certain way to conform to someone else's standards was. Still, I reckon my brief flirtatious with goth gave me my compassion for chavs. I was often accused of slitting my wrists or crying in the dark, based on the stereotype, and I can see parallels between that and people's assumptions about chavs.

Me and some friends got followed by chavs last night. We were carrying 8 litres of Strongbow. We managed to elude the, though. ninja

I think chavs, well, all teenagers, have built-in cider sensers, I know my younger brother does.

It's partly the long hair. It sends out intellectual signals, or something.
