After spending the morning walking around the farmer's market with Amy, Karrie set up his forge to do some work. Thistle was playing in the back yard around him, sometimes jumping up to try to see what he was doing on his work table. Velcore played with Thistle for a while, then went over to Kits' house, being very secretive about why he was going and telling Thistle to stay at Karrie's for a while.
Seeing that it was starting to get late, Karrie cleaned up and used the fire he'd started to grill some hamburgers for a late lunch. Carrying the tray into the kitchen, he set it down on the counter*

When Karrie brought in the hamburgers, Amy got excited. "Yes, they're ready!! They smell soooo good, Karrie!"
She had three plates out on the counter and condiments with hamburger buns. She had also made some potato salad and coleslaw.
She started fixing a small plate for Thistle and then made her own after Karrie.

*laughs* They do! I'm really hungry after what I've been doing.
*fixes his plate and sits at the kitchen table* This potato salad looks really good, too. *takes a bite and nods*

Amy had some hamburger in her mouth and couldn't respond, but she nodded thoroughly.
When she had swallowed and wiped her mouth with a napkin, she said, "Thanks, Karrie! And this hamburger is sooo good. I love the pieces of cheddar cheese you put in the hamburger meat!"

Amy groaned and put the hamburger on her plate. Did he have to bring this up while she was eating the most amazing hamburger she had ever had?
"I've tried not to... I don't know what to do."
She looked over at Thistle, who was busy eating her hamburger and coleslaw on the plate on the floor.
"Dangit... I guess I could go, explaining to Thistle that I'm doing this for her, to defend her, and then I'd make her happy, you and Kits..."

Amy scoffed slightly. "Don't go crazy now..."
She smirked a little bit, though, and then squeezed his hand back. "Besides, it will give me an excuse to try and pair my water magic, which I've been working on for awhile, with an outfit. And when we get there, I want to hang out with Kits as much as I do with you. I told her first that I would go with her but then canceled. I don't want her to think I was just doing that so I could go with you."

I'm sure Kits will understand. She does really want you to go. I really want to know why she wanted Velcore over this afternoon, though... confused

Amy's amused smirk grew and she shook her head. "Both of you are incorrigible."
She picked up her hamburger. "And Velcore seemed excited today, so I'm sure it will be pretty cool. I don't know if he'll be going with us to the party or Kits, though."
After they had finished their late lunch, Amy put things away and then started cleaning the dishes.
"Just let me know when you want my help transfiguring your costume. I'm ready whenever."

He did seem really excited. *helps Amy clear the table*
I'm going to take a shower first. I've been working outside all afternoon. *grins* Speaking of outside, I need to go make sure the fire's died down enough. *setting the dishes on the counter, he catches her around the waist and kisses her. After releasing her, he smiles at her and heads outside again*

Amy's eyes widened slightly when Karrie suddenly grabbed her and kissed her. Unfortunately, she had been so surprised that she hadn't had a chance to respond. Karrie was out of the kitchen and heading outside by the time she shook herself out of her daze.
She smirked slightly and turned back to doing the dishes. Maybe she should just kiss him from now on. He seemed to like that more than anything she had done last night. Ah well.
Amy glanced down at Thistle, who now had coleslaw and potato salad around her mouth. She chuckled and picked her up. She got a clean washcloth out, soaped it up, and began to gently clean her.
"Alright sweetie. We have to talk. I have to tell you where I'm going tonight and why. I need you to be a big girl and try to understand everything I'm going to tell you..."
Amy proceeded to tell Thistle that she was going to MW but that it was just to defend her and stand up for her.

*after pouring some water over the coals to make sure it would be all right, Karrie went back inside. He glanced into the kitchen and saw Amy talking to Thistle, who didn't look very happy. He continued on to take his shower.
When he was done, he dressed in the parts of the outfit he wouldn't need Amy to transfigure for him and walked out to the kitchen. The mask Kits had picked up for him was already on the table in there*
How are you two doing?

Amy sighed but smiled down at Thistle, who she was still holding. "I think we're doing okay. She was upset at first, but I think she realizes now that I'm doing this for her, that I'm not going to the party like everyone else. She's my main reason."
Thistle trilled softly and rubbed her head against Amy's chest. Amy kissed the top of her head.
She looked up at Karrie. "Do you want my help now?"
Thistle flicked her tail haughtily at Karrie and turned her chin up.

Whenever you're ready.
*looks at Thistle and sighs* I know you're not very happy, Thistle. Just try to understand that I want Amy there tonight because during the party, people are going to be in a good mood and more likely to listen. Nobody is going to want to ruin the party for anybody else. It'll be easier than if she was to go there on a normal night during the week.
