Where were you when your world first shattered?

In a friend's car, talking with her about what had happened on one particular night when my abusive ex (back when we were still dating) had fed me drinks for a specific purpose...

...and afterwards? I did my best to grapple with what I learned and I tried to heal.

Hate the fact that I'm literally now doing all the upkeep work on the current place to make it 'rentable' before we leave, including paint, spackling, change of stove bits...mopping, rug cleaning, fridge washing, cupboard fixing and etc. Mainly because I don't want to be hit by any more fees - the guy's taking $1500 security plus rent ($725) this month already, and has said he'll charge more if the place isn't up to snuff.

On the up side, the property manager hates the landlord, so instead of following directions and charging me for use of patch and paints and other stuff, he's giving me them for free. Since I offered to make his crap job easier, he's bending over backwards being awesome about it. He also offered another carpet cleaner, which I turned down because we own one.

Let it never be said people can't bond over a cheap jerkwad landlord. Everyone's out to screw him out of whatever they can, because he overcharges tenants and underpays his staff. xd
