Heather tipped her head to the side, contemplating the validity of Fabian's words, before she chuckled and shrugged her shoulders. "That sounds about right! Guess I better start learning a third language now." She wasn't entirely sure she'd ever be able to learn Latin, considering it was a 'dead language', but that didn't mean she couldn't learn another language. "Yup yup! There's a reason why French is considered to be the language of loooooove~" She wiggled her eyebrows comically as she extended the last word. All jokes aside, she could tell from his expression that he was serious about learning. She was serious about teaching! They were going to be a serious student-teacher duo!
"Awww~" It was officially, she was totally smitten with Orchid. Heather looked from the Zubat to her trainer, trying to visualize Fabian discovering her underneath the shelves of a store. "I wonder how she got there..." she thought aloud, vocalizing the first thought that popped into her head. "Susie's just a regular little sleuth, isn't she?" The teen turned around to look at the Torchic in question, while in the process checking in on Cadenza. They'd traveled a good distance through the city at this point, and were nearing the docks, it'd do them no good to lose sight of their pokemon now.
Lysander puffed out his chest. "Bring on as many tests as you need, I'll pass them all," he insisted confidently. The male deflated with a breathy laugh, and he ran his fingers through his hair backwards and forwards before dropping it down to his side. He smirked, chucked a dubious eyebrow raise Melody's way, then shook his head. "You've just always got to try and outdo me, huh? Well, I'll give you that one. Going for another galaxy is impressive, not as impressive as trying for a completely different universe, but it's still impressive." For a few brief moments, Lysander mulled over the comparison made between Fabian and a songbird, before finding it accurate. "Sounds like a Chatot to me," he mused. "And what my confidence doesn't get me, my dashing looks will, right?" Even if he had been the one to make the joke, he still found it ridiculous to hear out loud, and he laughed before sighing.
It took a grand total of ten minutes, give or take, to get from one end of Hau'oli City to the other, but they eventually arrived at the docks. Lysander, signaling Heather to wait nearby, stepped in line to buy their tickets and left her to continue her conversation with Melody. "Yup! They're absolutely adorable, and they make great singers. I guess that's why my mom got him for me," she confirmed with a nod, adding a little bit of a fun fact at the end. "If you want, when we get on the boat, I can show him off to you." As Melody spoke of the scenery, Heather couldn't help but to look around appreciatively before she nodded. "It is a really nice place, I might even try to convince Lysander to continue our adventure here." She was... only half joking. They'd already made progress in Kalos, with three badges to their name they only needed five more, it would be a shame to just drop it there and restart in Alola; even if the region was beautiful, and exotic, and relaxing, and...
"I'm sure Fabi would be fine on his own!" Heather chirped, her characteristic optimism making another appearance. That being said, she'd only spent all of, what, an hour? with him. That was too short a time to start declaring him independently capable. "C'mon Heather, I've got our tickets." Lysander's reappearance put a pause on their conversation, one that lasted up until they boarded their vessel and found seats. Just as promised, once she was settled, Heather released Legato into her lap, only to be greeted with a salty 'bwark' and a cautious side-eye. Heather slumped her shoulders. He... hadn't forgotten how she'd just let him faint in their last battle, had he? That was... fine.. she didn't expect him to.

Fabian grinned, giving a pistol salute to Heather as she commented on the need to start learning a third language. "Ooo you should totally go for German! Or, or... Czech! Romanian? That one language in the one place in those one islands…," he puzzled over the thought a moment before returning to the conversation with a smile. "Ahhh looooveeee. The slayer of all musical hearts one way or another," he slapped his free hand over his heart and gave a fake swooning look, as though such a feeling had overcome him. It hadn’t but it was fun to humor the idea.
"I know right? I think she probably was hiding there, using it for cover or something," Fabian murmured, lifting Orchid up to eye level and receiving a little squeak from her in response, lowering her again to glance over at Susie. "Yup! She sure is! Should’ve named her something more … detective! Or maybe I’ll just start calling her Super Sleuth Susie! That has a great ring to it!" He liked the ring of it and looked to Heather for approval on this grandioso title he wished to bestow on his starter. Not that the little chick would appreciate it in full; not yet anyways.
Melody tried her best to keep a serious expression on her face as Lysander issued his challenge with confidence, maintaining it even as he deflated and gave a laugh. Eventually a leery smile crossed her face and she turned her attention away. "Oh yeah? Well alright then," she remarked, tone ominous with her suggestion. Finally, she broke into a light smile.
"Mmmm yeah, it’s habit. You always have to try for better to keep others improving… or something like that, at least that’s what my dad says at time." She shrugged, continuing along nonchalantly. She did ‘pfft’ at his comparison, considering it a moment. "I don’t Chatot’s just repeat what they hear, don’t they? " Which was considerably less annoying than someone just spouting whatever they wanted. Maybe; she wasn’t exactly privy to the ways of mimicry in pokemon. "Maybe, I guess we’ll have to test that too, hm?"
Once they’d reached the docks, Melody fell back into the conversation with Heather, arms folded over her chest as she listened to the girl explained, a gentle smile on her face. She seemed genuinely interested, Fabian lurking close by and trying very hard not to look he was trying to escape the situation while also ease dropping on the description of the pokemon. It sounded interesting and all and he almost wanted to stick around to see it out. "Oh really? Well that’s pretty awesome, have you started training it to sing with you?" She inquired, head tilting at the offer. "Of course, I’d love to meet him." Melody remarked, reaching out and snapping onto the back of Fabian’s coat as he tried to weasel his way away.
"I think that’d be a great idea if you can convince him. Nothing like fresh island breeze to keep things lively," Melody remarked as she yanked a whimpering Fabian back over. "Though you said you started in Kalos, right? You’d have to head back there eventually I suppose."
Assuring they had their own tickets in hand, Melody took the pause to assure that Fabian was properly dragged onto the boat with some level of struggle. If his whimpering and clinging to the guard rail once they were on wasn’t enough evidence that he didn’t like boats, then the immediate paleness that followed once they started to move out on the water was surely to make it clear. Susie temporarily directed her attention to her trainer, giving little chirps of concern with Orchid to assure him he’d be okay.
Melody in the meantime took advantage of the meet and greet, leaning in a bit from her seat as Legato was unleashed. "Well hello there, Legato. My name’s Melody," she introduced, offering out a hand to the creature. She noticed the rather curt response and Heather’s deflation, frowning a bit. "Is something wrong?"

After their meal, Erryn realized that having her entire team out while walking around would be a bit overwhelming. She wanted to get to know the two Rattata for a bit and it'd be harder to do if she had her entire team out. That was more Pokemon to keep an eye on. So, Erryn returned Farah and Cuno to their balls to even things out. It would have been Farah and Bryant, but Bryant was stubborn and refused to hand the egg over. He was like a dad or a big brother. It was kind of cute."Okay! Let's do some more training!"With that, Erryn walked out of the center with Bryant following and the Rattatas running around her feet happily. It was really cute to see them so excited. And, it looked like they were going to be really good friends.

Sylva chuckled lightly at Luca's response. "I know that, but they don't." She mused, motioning towards a few gazes who, upon being pointed out looked away. Some people just couldn't mind their own business. Whatever the case, Sylva dug into her own plates upon sitting down. She went for the warm dishes first, feeling they'd likely taste better warm. After some time she moved to cooler dishes, not wanting to waste to much of the food before she got full. Surprisingly, she managed to clean off about 3 of her 5 plates. Wixon and Rolex happily consumed the remainder of these dishes, being of the few solid non-ghostly Pokemon on Sylva's team.
"If I manage to get a flying-type Pokemon, I could just teach it fly and we can fly back to Kanto." Sylva mentioned, thinking she didn't like the idea of being on a time clock. Getting to the cruise in the first place was kind of stressful, but while they were in this foreign and new region, she wanted to explore, take pictures... all that kind of touristy stuff. The only issue was... well, she didn't have a flying-type to use in order to fly. An idea then popped into Sylva's head... rather a memory. "Say, don't you have an extra Pidgey on your team? You don't plan on using it do yea? I could train it to be my flyer." She grinned. It would take half a decade mostly likely, but they had that kind of time... didn't they?

With the new addition to her team in her hands, the red-head give a grin to Luca. Standing from her seat as well, she returned the bulk of her team save for Wixon, who she was still pretty determined to train a bit more, despite their next gym proving to be her weakness. With breakfast reaching its conclusion, Luca rose from her seat and started putting everyone but Priscilla back into their balls. She'd begun clearing up a few leftover scraps and gathering up their plates when her companion pitched a name for her newly-minted Pidgey, making her realize only then that she'd entirely forgotten to give it a name. She couldn't help but chuckle at her choice though, far more familiar with a fresh prince than any jewelery broker. "Sure, he's your's now anyway. I don't think I gave the little guy a name anyway, so there shouldn't be any trouble with it."
With their meal out of the way and the two girls all packed and ready to go, it was time to hit the road. Motioning for Sylva to follow, the swordswoman took the lead, swiping one of the travel pamphlets beside the doors on her way out. There was one in their room as well, but since they didn't stop to pick it up, grabbing one now was as good a time as any. Lucatiel unfolded the paper sheet and started reading through it, quickly finding the ship's travel plan. She hummed thoughtfully before finally speaking up. "Alright, so it looks like we might not have to abandon the cruise if freedom to explore is what you're looking for. Says here the ship'll be visiting each of the islands individually, with a two-day stay for each... Which means we've essentially got a little over a week to relax in Alola before the ship heads back to Kanto." As she reported the information, Luca spun about and walked backwards, so that she was facing her companion as they made their way down the halls.

Happy to hear she had permission, even if she hadn't needed it, to name the Pidgey whatever she wanted, the red-head nodded, gripping the birds ball before placing it onto her bag along with the rest of her main team. "BelAir it is." With that their breakfast was over, and it was time to go. Sylva diligently followed after Luca, quirking a brow at the woman as she mentioned what was written on the brochure. "Really? Two days?" She thought on this for a moment. The overhead map she'd seen of the various regions gave little to the imagination when it came to size... "Sounds good." She mused. Two days seemed like plenty of time to explore each island and get in some good training before heading back to Kanto for their fourth badge. With BelAir on her team now, she noted it's need for training more than the rest of her team.
However, as they grew close to the exit, a woman was boarding, following behind her a rather strange looking Marowak. A worker on the ship seemed rather worried? Perhaps because of the large bone the Marowak held.... of which each end was lit aflame "...sorry Ma'am. We just can't allow that Pokemon to be outside it's ball while on the ship." The conversation filled the air as the two girls grew closer. Sylva in particular was rather interestested, slowing her pace to hopefully pick up a bit more before they completely turned and left the ship. "Obsurd, I saw just last night a man with a Gengar flailing about the ship! Why can't my darling Mr. Marrow follow with me as well? This preposterous dislike of Ghost-type Pokemon is going to far!" Ghost type? "Ma'am it's not because it's a ghost-type it's.. be...." The conversation faded as the girls finally passed and started down the ship's ramp. Sylva quickly caught up with Luca, motioning back towards the ship. "Did you hear that? She said that Marowak was a ghost? It did look odd, but so does Wixon... Rich people are so stupid, huh?" Sylva grinned, shaking her head blissfully ignorant of the Marowak's actual typing.

"Then I guess it's settled," Luca chirped, swiftly clasping her hands together flat and folding up the brochure in one, deft motion. With a grin on her face she continued her backwards march through the ship, her course occasionally being corrected by Priscilla so she didn't run into anyone or stumble over something she couldn't see. "So! Where to first? You're the one with the camera, so if you wanna go sight-seeing you'll probably have a better eye for a nice spot than I will."
The swordswoman didn't turn back around until they were off the ship, so she was privy to the sight of a strange Marowak and listened in on the passing conversation, her interests thoroughly piqued when the redhead finally brought it up. "Well, I'm not gonna confirm or deny the intelligence of a stranger," she began, chuckling. "But I'm pretty sure a Marowak's not supposed to have fire on the end of its bone either. Think it's one of those regional types?" Luca slowed down a bit as she posed the question, mainly so she didn't get too far ahead of her companion as they walked together. "Apparently pokemon species sometimes develop differently from one region to the next, so they might have different patterns on their bodies or even be totally different types from one another. I actually remember seeing a tourist walk around with a ice-type Vulpix one time back in Unova. It was actually kinda cute."
Luca briefly looked back at the cruise ship one last time before they got too far, quickly patting herself down to make sure she wasn't forgetting anything. Seemingly satisfied that she hadn't left anything, she stretched her arms and locked her fingers together, a satisfying series of "pops" sounding off.

Sylva thought a moment on Luca's question. Where should they go first? Hmm... Perhaps the beach?, nah.. she wanted to get away from the sea-side as quick as possible. "How about inland?" She replied. Though, what direction 'inland' was entirely she wasn't sure. " Uhh.. Maybe we should find a more detailed map of this island somewhere first?" She hadn't really seen the brochure Luca had held to well, so if it had the detailed map she spoke of, she didn't know. But Luca could assist right away if it did, if not.. it looked like they'd have to ask a local or two for directions. Touristy places generally had those large buildings built solely for tourists.
Thinking on Luca's mention of an ice-type Vulpix, she realized she'd also seen a rather odd looking Rattata running around the streets mingling with the normal Rattata she knew of. They were apparently dark-types. "Maaaybe..." She then felt a brush of something hit the back of her legs. Looking down she noticed it was Rolex.. he'd seemingly lost his footing for a moment and slid down the walk ramp slightly. Once he recovered the disgruntled Ivysaur looked up at Sylva and grunted apologetically. "S'alright, Rolex." Sylva mentioned. "Hey, buddy could you do me a favor actually? Could you use those vines of yours to scan that lady's Marowak?" She asked, fishing her Pokedex from her bag. Rolex obliged, getting a good scan of the Pokemon. Of course it couldn't give her it's type, but she could ask a local about it.
Whatever the case she quickly caught back up with Luca at the base of the ramp. "I'll ask someone around here. Once we find out where where we're going anyway." She stated, with a slightly grin tugging at her lips.
