He was spotted! As soon as she turned those fierce eyes on him, he lost all his words. So elegant! So powerful! So amazing! "No, no no! I'm not interesting at all to you. My stories would pale in comparison to your grand adventures!"

Loyal to him? His dreams come true! Thank the stars for coming to this party where he met his most heroic of heroes. "Please, I must know your name! Something to carve into stone to commemorate you gracing me with your presence!" He didn't exactly know how to work with stone, but he would certainly learn. Just for her.

User ImageAfter a few minutes, Venus returned to the room, gliding across the floor once again.

She nodded at some of those she passed, saying grateful thanks and honored words when it was appropriate, before taking her seat back on her throne. To Anteros, she turned, leaning to kiss him on both cheeks as a fancy greeting, before sitting back fully in her throne.

"Thank you for watching the throne while I was gone! Carry on, we'll talk later!"

User ImageThat was ... strange ...

Anteros watched as the bonk to the head did little to nothing to the odd angel in that tacky red coat, going so far as to attempt to continue to follow his mother towards the powder room! Alarmed, Anteros lifted his hammer to come down and bonk him again, but he was fortunately saved by an arrow of his sister's that just barely missed him, cruising towards the strange angel and distracting him from his intentions to find his mother.

Good. When mortals were naturally insane, the arrows had their uses...

Anteros watched patiently for his mother to return, and when he did, he exchanged some pleasantries with her. Yes, he would have to explain what happened later, of course. Not during her party. He expected that much. "Certainly, Mother," agreed Anteros, and with a bow, he limply flew off back to Yukiko, finding her with the beverages.

Happily, he came up behind her, setting his head on hers as he looked at what she was attempted to get herself to drink. "See anything warm, like you?"

Curling into the chair next to him, Ra'tari cuddled close to his arm like she wanted to hunker down and have a nice nap, head resting against his shoulder, eyes watching the goings on. Particularly Venus as she disappeared, then reappeared and all of the other overly dressed winged being flitting around.

"Some hours at most....though the last one ended when a delightful lady dressed in purple appeared and flung baby snake paes onto everyone." she chuckled to herself, recalling all the 'poor pae' fleeing from the room. She also remembered the odd feeling she got there...and not just herself. So many had been acting weird. "Come to think of it..." she mused with a half purr. "This one seems relativly calm compared to last time.... I bet the battle wore all the poor wittle fighters out!" she giggled to herself.

Her eyes flicked over towards a big blue winged pae with a hammer repeatedly bonking this silly winged pae in a large red coat. Now that was more like her kind of party! If only the bonking actually did something.... "Looks like that one's head is far too empty to scramble...." she grinned, drawing her tongue across her claws, highly amused.

The whole time she kept speaking, Erasmus kept moving. Balanced on his toes, he kept his weight ready to shift at a moment's notice, nearly bouncing on the balls of his feet...ready to spring if she even twitched that spear in his or his brother's direction again...

He wasn't sure what he'd do, but the invincibility of youth told him that he'd sure do something!

Though he listened attentively, something about her threats felt...empty. So, she was gonna' either threaten to cut them short, or make them long. Heh. He really wanted to say something to that, but some modicum of sense held his tongue. For now. A nice chat? Like adults? Oh, how nice...

Still, it was a chance to get some of his questions answered possibly. Who else would know more of the gods and their business than one of their own. That...was what she was, right? She sure carried herself like one anyway. He was about to start asking questions when she said she could answer one of his questions with one of her own. Wait...what did that mean? He hadn't even asked any questions yet...except to ask if he could ask her some questions. That had been pretty vague, right? Had he given any hint of what he was wondering? Or...could she read minds too? Oh cripes, they could appear out of nowhere, who was to say they couldn't read minds too?

He'd never had to police his thoughts before. He could have been entertaining any kinds of questions before. Why is the sky blue? What happens if you cross a monkey with a jaguar? Are you free tonight? That last one nearly broke the deadpan look he wore as a neutral expression. Oh please don't have heard that...especially if there's some chance we're related or something...which would be cool to have awesome god blood and powers, but I dunno...if they're all this grouchy and grumpy with sticks lodged in their--

By some miracle he kept his expression steady, though he was internally cursing his brain and willing it to somehow be silent.

What? Something about backing up? The comment, along with the goddess drawing her bow was enough to shake Erasmus' spiraling panicked thoughts. Clearly she hadn't heard those thoughts...or was ignoring them. A moment to calm himself while pondering over what she was doing allowed him to remember the original reason he and his brother had ventured out here, before they'd gotten distracted by their selfish desires and need for adventure and excitement and chicks. The final question that passed through his mind before realizing the goddess was reading to fire was:

Do you know what happened to my little sister?

A moment later, the thought was gone, replaced by disbelief, his jaw hanging open. "D-did you just...shoot that guy?"

Food wasn't helping the strange empty feeling inside her. Strange...and worrying. Confusing. She was definitely no longer hungry, yet still it remained. And these unfamiliar feelings toward the other that looked like her, but with such bright colors. So much like her, and yet so unlike her. Because clearly it could never be. What could never be? Something...she wasn't sure she understood...it confused and infuriated her.

Ruffling her feathers in irritation, she decided to get away from the source of the problem. Clearly it was the great hunter before her. If she could get away...focus on something else...wait, yes, the angry lady with the stick! Her boys seemed to be handling themselves well enough. She hadn't caught the recent conversation, but had been puzzled by the comments about food earlier. Her sharp eyes had seen much at this party, aside from striking green birds. Like thieving pink cats.

Carrying herself with as much pride as the silver woman had, she passed by the group after the woman finished her odd movement. "Why have food not to eat? Seem dumb. Boys only take fruit. Cat take all food. Why not hunt her?" The harpy spoke in short, clipped sentences, using as few words as possible, even when she had something to say, rare as it was. She looked the silver goddess over with some disdain, then cackled with laughter as she walked off. "Silly. Bow work better with arrow."

Oh, they were in for it now! But...Auntie Nyra didn't seem to care they were here after all! Was she...defending them? That wasn't the most shocking thing she said though. As she disappeared back into the crowd, Erasmus shot Amatus a pointed, wide-eyed look.

Their sharp eyed aunt hadn't seen the arrow. What did that mean?

She had totally been about to leave. Really. She really didn't want to say anything else to the jerk. Well, she wanted to say a lot really...but it probably wouldn't end well. It was that 'sense' thing telling her to just cut and run, leave before this got worse. She was even willing to let her sister lead her away.

Until she felt her sister tense alongside her at the adult's parting shot. Who was the child here? "Thank the Guardians we're not then," she growled, turning with her sister. A united front. After her sister spoke, she followed up with, "Fortunately, we were taught more practical things." Thinking back to something she'd heard Grandpa Kane say, and their mother repeat, she echoed as well, "Respect isn't given just cause you somehow managed to live longer than someone else so far. You earn it." She struggled to hide a grin at her sister's parting mark, but failed miserably. "Come on, Saoirse," she said quietly, leaning into her sister's embrace. The fury was calming...the haze before her eyes retreating, fortunately. She willingly let her sister lead her away now, maybe back towards her earlier friends.

She couldn't help a slightly louder than necessary parting shot, however, seemingly shared with her sister. "Man...if that was him...Mom sure did right dumping his fuzzy a**."

Luminita was dutifully and faithfully following after her dance partner for science(!) across the room towards her two sons, who hopefully would be nicer than the first had been. Each time Esmee looked back, she flashed a big smile to let her know that she was still here and following and, most importantly, dancing. Guardian's knew that she simply couldn't stop. Not with this kind of view of Esmee's a--...

Well those are silly dancing-bug thoughts that need to stop.

Eyes glancing away, she boogied to the side, arms moving back and forth to try and get the purple angel's attention. "They're moving most certainly in that direction now~!" Had she had a bit of a sing-songy tune there at the end of her statement...? Perhaps. What was certain, though, was the way she was changing her path to angle closer to where the bubbles were headed.

This was the sort of situation that Wellspring had been trying to avoid. Completely and entirely. That was why he had tried so hard to keep his eyes downcast, why he had originally intended on just watching from the sidelines, never interacting. Interaction was dangerous. He was a liability.

One thing was certain, however: like hell he was going to admit having had anything to do with that.

Eyes still looking away, he bounced around Dameon's question with a shrug and shake of the head. "No, not really... I just haven't had much that I've wanted to say." Wasn't that the truth?

He didn't have to look at Cazir to feel the air of suspicion.

Then there were four.

Normally he wouldn't have been one to try and make any gestures or references to the physical sign of how much he'd changed as he'd grown up. He hated the thing. A lot. In this situation, however, he welcomed the change of subject. "No... It's new..." She might have been looking at him, but he was certainly not looking at her.

Well... that had been one way to start a party.

A few minutes after his one-night lover had excited, the naiad, too, returned, his hair thoroughly a delightful mess and his urges once more calmed. He glanced around, curious as to where she might have gone (but not really with the intention of anything more with her tonight), only for a moment before she shrugged it off.

If nothing else, his mind was cleared from the disappointment of the night's beginning, and he had made at least one other very happy.

He began to move towards the buffet, eyeing some drinks for his parched throat and some snacks from the surface, when he felt another distinct p***k on his foot, funny enough. Eyes looking down to see if he'd stepped on something, he shrugged up the sensation before looking up and catching eyes on him.

Well, wasn't this new?

Never before had he felt an attraction towards a male before; Hjortur was convinced that he was always and forever one for the ladies. The current moment and fluttering of his pulse as he lay eyes on tender piece of man across the room, however, was saying otherwise. Oh, how he wanted to reach out and touch his hair...

Yukiko smiled softly as she felt Anteros behind her and leaned into him lightly. She was still careful of him, worried what else might have been harmed in what she could only think of as a traumatic change for her dearest. She blushed a little at his question. "I found some hot cocoa," she said and tilted her head to look up at him. "Look, it's got pink heart shaped marshmallows!" She laughed lightly and held a cup out to him. "Is Venus alright?" she asked him, a little more seriously. The goddess certainly seemed to be alright, but looks were often deceiving as she found out quite recently.

"No, no, nothing's wrong, love, just checking on the kids," she said with a smile. She never thought she'd be a mother, let alone the kind that semi-hovered, but she was happy for the life they had now. "They seem to have made a friend," she told him and moved them so Noir could see them, too.

Then she felt a sharp sting on her behind and frowned a little. "What was that?" she asked aloud, blinking a bit at the strange golden thread that formed between herself and Noir before disappearing. Strange things always seemed to happen at Venus' parties... But this one wasn't nearly as strange as last year's was. In fact, this year's was much more pleasant. Looking up at Noir again she smiled, suddenly feeling closer to him than before. Something was different, but whatever it was didn't seem so important as she looked into Noir's eyes and kissed him right there on the dance floor. "I'm so glad we met, Noir, I really am," she told him, a sappy smile on her face.
shadica
Noir~ Per Tei & Dia, they won't know what the thread means unless they've heard about it from someone else. All they know is they feel closer to each other than before and that something's changed :3

Aderyn pouted a little, but nodded and let it go. It was not her business, she supposed, if her hero's mother could not see how amazing he was. "Of course," she said when he asked to move somewhere else. "I'd go anywhere with you," she said and fluttered her wings. What wouldn't she do for this hero of hers? Really, she couldn't think of a single thing that would be too much for him to ask of her! She followed his gaze then and arched an eyebrow at the dancing pair. "Is that....normal?" she wondered.

Ruri scowled at the teens, tail thrashing much like the purple girl's. He opened his mouth to say something else when some chick interrupted. "Whatever, go play with your dolls or something," he grumbled at the retreating teens before turning his attention back to Kasmai and this newcomer who seemed intent on Kasmai. "Hey! He's mine, back off," he said with a seductive wink and purr to Kasmai, reaching for the other pae's hand to pull him back. Now that those brats were gone, he could concentrate on getting this guy somewhere more private.

Saoirse grinned at her sister, then laughed at her comment as they turned to walk away. "Seriously! Besides, who needs a dad like him when I've got a sister like you?" she said with a smile and hip bumped Illyria lightly. She did lead her sister back toward her new friends, and smiled at them when they came near. "Cascade and Fiammetta," she started, gesturing to each in turn, "This is my sister Illyria. Lyri, this is Cascade and Fiammetta. They're quads like we are," she said and grinned. It was interesting to her that they weren't the only set, and she wanted to know more.

Arc blushed a little at Laz's nudge, then smiled. He shoved another piece of candy in his mouth as Zaba joined them at the table. Phaenna remained silent and simply watched the proceeding moments. She didn't seem to truly care about the harpy sassing up to her, though the harpy did help make of point of something that helped her. Phaenna's eyes drifted to the table, noting the lack of sweets on there. The harpy was right. Phaenna gave a gentle nudge to one of the passing cherbs with the side of her spear to get it's attention before motioning with her head at the table and the lack of certain items. The cherb gave it's own nod and took off, leaving Phaenna with the twins again.

She waited until the harpy was out of ear shot before looking to the twins again. The disbelief on their faces told her everything she needed to know, for sure this time. She turned her attention to Amatus before speaking. "To quote you're question earlier, 'If he's one of her kids that mean we got god blood?' Though that is two questions...I can safely answer the second part first." She looked over to where the arrows had been shot to before back to the twins. "Only those with blood lines connected to the gods can see the magical arrows we use." With that she moved over to the seats she hand mentioned to them earlier, standing before them. It was at this time she finally showed any type of inkling to what was going on in her mind. She began to rub her brow before letting out a sigh. This was not a position she wanted to be in...But these two demi's had a right to know SOME stuff. Mother help her get through this talk.

User ImageHot cocoa definitely sounded nice right about now.

The marshmellows were a nice bonus.

Happily, Anteros took the cup from her, shifting a bit so he didn't accidentally spill anything on the angel in front of him. That would be bad. "Of course it does. Those cherubs are so silly sometimes." He chuckled, taking a sip. It was nice to have "those cherubs" back to normal, though.

No more panicking about mother, though Yukiko's worry was legitimate, and he looked back to where she was sitting. "She seems alright," offered Anteros, still a bit cautious. "She's certainly acting like her normal self right now. Seemed happy to see me." Which also meant she wasn't angry at him for being missing, a good thing in itself.

User ImageEsmée was growing quite tired of dancing. Her legs hurt. And so did her arms. And her butt.

Esmée did not move her body like this very much, if at all. There was no real need for dancing in the lab, and otherwise she just walked. She didn't realize she had muscles there in the first place, and now she was really feeling it!

But Luminița was dancing, and she had to dance with Luminița, so Esmée kept grooving.

When Luminița noticed their change in direction, Esmée applauded her, before beginning to move in that direction herself. Oh, those bubbles were so helpful! It was nearly impossible to lose track of her middle child! Him being with the eldest, whom she knew the least about, was another bonus.

She paused in her tracks when she caught they were talking to a faerie, even if she couldn't quite hear them from there over the other pae and the music.

"Fascinating! I wonder what they are speaking about?"

Amatus didn't know what to make of the situation. Between their Aunt showing she obviously knew they were there and seeing these god children shooting mortals... Was he in trouble and finding out he was a part of a brutal, savage family? Oh gods why had they come here? Now that they were found out would these people make them come live with them? He didn't want to shoot people! He wanted to dance with them and flirt and and not be what they are!

Though, if it meant delicious god food-

He found himself being hustled to a chair and sat himself down. Geez this woman was pushy. He made a face at her as she began to explain something before a surprised look came over his face. So they were! Was he delight or horrified? When he thought about it he was really neither. If they ever mentioned the need for the two of them to live there he'd fight it with all his power. He had a family- a group that wasn't as insane as they were. Speaking of which, he and his brother hadn't been acting the best either. There was only one reason they had come here, and sure, it had been fun, but things could end at any second without any information on their sister. “That's cool to know, and thanks, but that's not why we're here.”

“See, our sister has gone missing and we're looking for her. So unless you have some information for us of where she might be, we'd rather be let go so we can ask some others. We get that our dad is someone who isn't in our lives and now that he's probably a god, but in the end we have family back home and that's all that matters to us right now. Now one of those members is missing. So, if you know something please tell us, otherwise we need to keep looking for her.”

“Her name is Xiulan. She's grubby- like a literal grub not dirty- and blue with purple eyes.” he began to describe her, watching her face to see if any sign of recognition appeared. “Her hair...” he trailed off trying to figure out what color it was like, before grabbing one of the darker fuchsia ones on his brother, “Her whole head is like this color!” His eyes were hopeful up at her, but he could see he was getting no where and looked towards his brother, “Alright, well thanks for your time.” He pushed himself out of the chair. Would they try every god here? If they were all related and this one didn't know, would any of them?

Perhaps his brother would know what to do next, because his heavy heart certainly didn't.
