[-][L-A][1x1] Without A Pack

Bray watched Rayn as the man shut his eyes, he couldn't understand what the man was doing. Or he hadn't until the sudden barked order. All panic faded away in that instant and Bray moved forward squirming out the hole till he was laying belly up in front of Rayn. Ian and Kuro looked surprised to the human. The tone and order had startled them too, but it made them respect the human much more. "Soothe his nerves and lets get going." Ian said quickly. "Were cutting it close."

In all honesty, it broke rayn's heart having to resort to that with Bray. But he was just as panicked as his wolf was and had seen no other option. The human nodded his acknowledgement to Ian dn Kuro and gently kissed Bray's head between his soft ears. "You did good" he whispered softly and petted him "Now let's go" He stood and repositoned his bag on his back, making sure it was secure. The gun in his hand felt heavier to him, now that he felt an immediate need to use it, but he checked it quickly, counted his rounds -six, fully loaded- and clicked the clip back in place faster than any normal person would have been able to register what he'd done. Looking up to the other two wolves, he nodded and repeated himself "Let's go, guys"

Bray felt more relaxed as Rayn soothed him, the man petting him helped among everything else. Rolling back over he prepared to run. "Will you be able to keep up with us with that on your back?" Ian quickly questioned leading the way to the back of the cave. Bray followed after him and Kuro stayed behind the pack ushering the small black wolf forward when another howl broke through the daylight.

"I hope you intend to use that if you need to, your not one of us boy. If they come for you, you've got to be quick." Kuro said seeing Rayn mess with the gun.

"I can't leave it, it has all our medical supplies and extra ammunition for my gun." He adjusted the bag one more time to his back, noting to himself that he had in fact positioned everything so that it made no noise when he moved. "It's light, it won't weigh me down at all. But if the need arrises, I'll ditch it"

Another howl echoed around them, and Rayn felt unease in the pit of his stomach. They were getting closer by the second, he could tell by how near the wolf's cry had sounded. When Kuro spoke again, a smirk made it's way to Rayn's lips. "You know, i've always been the guy who wanted to help animals. Kind of a wannabe veterenarian. But my dad took me out when I was little and forced me to learn how to work a gun in order to 'make a man out of me' " With one flick of his wrist, he cocked his handgun, locking a bullet in place. "Yeah, I'm ready to use it"

"I did not intend for you to 'ditch' your supplies I was merely suggesting that one of us could carry them for you instead. You must remember we are trying to outrun wolves on the day after the full moon." Kuro said.

"We both feel the strong pull to shift and run but we cannot leave you behind." Ian translated. Bray moved closer to Rayn as the next howl sounded. He wanted to run with all his might and find a hiding place but he knew Rayn wouldn't like that.

"Run at full speed, i'll keep up." It was neither a question or comment, merely a fact. The wolves would run, otherwise they would die. Rayn would keep up, otherwise he would die. He knew this, and accepted it as fact. However he would never allow himself to die when he still had Bray to take care of.

The human stroked Bray's head one last time before he stood up fully. "Let's go, we need to be gone before they get to this cave or we won't even have a chance of escaping"

Kuro looked a bit apprehensive about running at full speed and Rayn trying to keep up. He decided then that if he needed to that he could take the pack from Rayn's back. That way the human could tun quicker, if the man ever became a wolf like them he was sure he wouldn't have a problem. Ian too seemed wary of the man trying to keep up with them.

Bray looked up to Rayn as the other pet him again, he pushed against the hand for a moment. "Were almost at the back exit." Ian assured as he continued to lead.

Rayn took pause as he noticed the wolves in human form exchange looks. He knew he was being stubborn, but he didn't want to be seen as weak or a hinderence. besides, he didn't think the bag would weight him down enough that he couldnt run. It was small and light -relatively, anyway- and didn't make him feel any heavier than his own body weighed.

No, he wouldn't give up his pack. Besides it being a matter of pride, he also had extra cartridges of ammo ligned up in his pack for easy access. If Bray's former pack struck -and he knew they would- he needed to be ready. The human nodded to Ian to confirm that he'd heard they were nearing an exit, and gave Bray one final pat on the head before adjusting his hold on his gun. He hated the thing, in all honesty, but he knew it inside and out and wouldnt hesitate to fire if Bray or his friends were threatened.

((sorry for the delay, I got a new job that's been keeping me busy. that, and my internet has been especially difficult recently))

Bray looked up to Rayn once more as he was given another pat. He didn't like the gun in the human's hand but he understood that was how one fought against things stronger than themselves when they were not able to change. Bray turned back to face Ian as he smelt the fresh air coming from before them.

"Here we are, up and through we go. It will stall them as wolves until they run around. Can you make it up Bray or should we carry you until we are out?" Ian questioned the dark colored wolf. Bray felt panic rise in him at the thought of being trapped in someone's arms and being shoved through a hole at least ten feet from the ground. He knew not what was outside the hole either. Giving a whine he stepped back tail curling beneath him and eats pressing against his head.

Rayn began to feel the tension slipping from his body. Not totally, but at least knowing they would be out of such a confined space made him feel a bit less trapped. Bray, though, seemed to feel the opposite. The wolf wanted nothing more than to crawl into a confined space away from the rest of the world and simply hide till whatever danger passed him by. But that wouldn't happen when wolves were on your tail. Pun not intended.

The human looked as his wolf cowared away from the exit. he wasn't sure why bray was so scared of leaving, but they had to or else they'd be caught. Sighing, he took a quick second to gently pat Bray's head. "We need to go Bray, now. And you can't climb as a wolf. Let them take you" Rayn's voice was soft and even, but there was nothing in his tone suggesting a request. It was an order with no wiggle room. Turning to Ian and Kuro, he nodded to the two wolves-in-human-form "One of you go out first and make sure it's safe, then teh other can carry Bray. I'll go up last. I'm not the strongest, but Bray's former pack won't be expecting a gun. The noise will distract them long enough to get out. and if not, then I'll just shoot them all"

Bray looked up to Rayn as the man patted his head once more. There was another order one which he knew he would obey but that didn't stop the whine that escaped his throat. Kuro and Ian nodded Ian going up through the exit. "Come along Bray." Kuro said before gripping the black wolf by the scruff of his neck.

"Its clear." came Ian's voice outside of the hole. "Come on up and quickly I don't know how long it will be clear."

"Up we go." Kuro said hoisting the whimpering wolf to the Ian. "Come on alpha lets go." Kuro growled towards Rayn. He could hear the other pack coming down the cave.

The human nodded his thanks to the two human wolves as they escorted Bray out of the cave. He heard paws padding rapidly down the cave towards them, and hoped that the echoes were making the sounds louder. Otherwise, the pack would be there much too quickly.

At Kuro's words, Rayn backed up to the wall quickly, watching for any signs of their attackers. When he didn't even see a shadow, he turned and ascended the wall as quickly as he could. It was relitavely simple climbing, but that was only because he had opposable thumbs. The wolves chasing them would have much more trouble getting up, i fthey even managed it at all.

Ian took hold of Bray as the wolf was handed up and pulled him through the hole. Back on his own feet and in the open Bray felt better but he turned and whimpered back to Ian and Kuro as the man appeared out of the hole. He wanted to see Rayn safe, to know that his alpha was alright despite the pack coming for them.

Kuro as soon as Rayn was in reach grabbed the human's hand and hoisted him up and out just as the pack appeared close in the cave. "Lets get out of here." Ian spoke quickly hearing the aggravated growling from the wolves below. A sharp howl from one of them had Bray whimpered and backing up with his ears and tail tucked. "They're calling the alpha. Now we really need to move."

A single piercing howl errupted from the cave, and even Rayn knew what it meant. The Alpha was being summoned. The reinforcements were calling their leader to the front of the battlefield. The wolves wanted blood, and lots of it. '$#!7' Rayn though as he turned to Bray. His wolf, his love. Not that he had even admitted it to himself yet, but he had fallen for the wolf the moment he saw him shift in his bedroom not even 2 nights ago. Gods how it felt like an eternity ago!

"Bray" the man calmly stated, looking at him and only him "Run!"

Bray looked up to Rayn as the human turned to him. He didn't know what was going to happen but he was scared. He knew Rayn couldn't face his father and Ian and Kuro were merely Betas. While betas were strong his father fought dirty. Green eyes locked with Rayn's as his name was said. At the order the wolf couldn't help but turn tail and do just that.

"What are you planning Rayn?" Ian questioned.
