Each army needs a centrepiece these days. It used to be a nicely converted commander or prized unit, but now it's all about the biggest unit in the army. talk2hand

The Empire could use a newer and bigger war altar, Ogres could go for some Rhinox cavalry, the Elves could use an even bigger dragon (Emperor Dragon this Summer maybe!), Chaos could use a mammoth and those silly Bretonnians.. hrm, how about a massive reliquary made out of a million dead knights?

Here's some new and interesting Warlord Games stuff. There was stuff last week but it was rather dull, so to make up for it, more WWII stuff!

New: Bolt Action Wrecked Sd.Kfz 251!

Quote:
One of the enduring images of the war were knocked out vehicles littering the battlefield. Our Sd.Kfz 250 wreck is very popular with you – so much so we’ve now got an Sd.Kfz 251 ‘Hanomag’ wreck for you too now!

The 251 is a troop transport that portrays an enduring image of armoured panzer grenadiers speeding into battle and is iconic of the German military as the Tiger tank or Panzer IV.

Our wrecked Hanomag represents a vehicle that has been knocked out by the Allies and then looted/stripped of anything useful by friend and foe alike. It makes an ideal peice of terrain adding atmosphere to your games or equally useful as an objective.

Our wrecked 251 is loaded with detail that’ll bring your battlefield to life. It’s got a crushed front wheel and mudguard, blown track, scattered gear, and bullet ridden armour. You’ll be wanting one or two of these for your table!

New: US MP On Harley Davidson!

Quote:
We’ve lost track of the number of you asking for a rider to sit astride our Harley Davidson motorcycle. Well, your prayers have been answered as we unveil our US Military Policeman on Harley

The wait was certainly worth it. Not only have we sculpted a US Military Policeman for the bike, but we’ve taken the opportunity to remaster the Harley itself making it more detailed than before. There’s a shotgun, bedroll, and stowage box – it’s loaded with detail now.

We’ll be making the motorbike available separately for those of you who wish to use it as flavour for your terrain or in a specific modeling project.

Re-release: Bolt Action Humber Scout Car & AEC Armoured Car!

The two latest Bolt Action resin vehicles to be released will help British and Commonwealth commanders support their gallant lads in the field. Have a good look at these two beauties here.

When Daimler couldn’t keep up production of the Dingo, Humber stepped in to build their now iconic vehicle. It was used primarily by British armoured units for scouting or liaison duty and was armed with a Bren mounted to the roof that could be operated from inside the vehicle if necessary. Production of the Humber continued throughout the war.

Anyone who has seen the classic movie A Bridge Too Far will be familiar with Brigadier J.O.E. Vandeleur, played as he was by Michael Caine, sat atop his Humber Scout Car as he leads XXX Corps to relieve the Airborne forces in ill-fated Operation Market Garden.

The AEC Armoured Car was built with the firepower of a tank, but the mobility of an armoured car. It started off with a Valentine Mk II turret 2 pounder gun, then bumped up to a 6 pounder for the Mk II and ending up with a 75mm gun for the Mk III. Not to mention machine guns!

Alright well it looks like after Orcs and Goblins and The Grey Knights, the Tomb Kings are getting their long awaited update and will be released this May. As always, no details are being released besides the month of release, but it should be interesting to see what will be kept the way it is, and what will be new.

Just like last year, starting off strong. Only instead of the Battle Missions book we're getting four army books in a row. Wow, go GW go! blaugh

Place your bets people for June! Is it going to be a 40k month or, dare we say it, a War of the Ring release? whee
PostPosted: Mon Feb 14, 2011 12:21 pm
For June, I could see it becoming an expansion to even out the releases. Perhaps something new for Warhammer Fantasy. The imagery in the rulebook shows armies coming from boats and maybe they might release something new for battles at sea.

Its just an idea, but as Bloodwynn said, maybe there could be something for Lord of the Rings. There is a lot of things left untouched from the trilogy of books.

In regards to Summer 2011:

40K: The flyer expansion is on the desk of the higher ups now, they are reviewing whether or not to give it the final green light. Some kits, especially those fukken Eldar, have extremely fragile bits, perhaps too fragile for full-scale production. If this is the case the project might be postponed or binned entirely.

Fantasy: It could be sea-based, though a lot are hinting at the Emperor dragon (think FW dragon) and a mission / scenario book not much unlike Battle Missions from last year. The most persistent rumour is that most if not all armies will benefit from these release(s).

Beyond Summer we've got Necrons and the Ogre Kingdoms. Possibly also the Tau Empire (with one extra supplement regarding Farsight and his racist Tau planned) and Wood Elves or Bretonnians.

The third range, LotR / WotR will not be dying down any time soon, GW has renewed the license for another five years. They are now gearing towards a Hobbit tie-in, so don't expect much on that front other than the odd half-hearted release of blisters and plastics to keep the fans happy while GW works on their new cash cow.

Hmmm whats with the theme of many eyes?
Anyway succubus looks great, though not on a par with Lelith...
I like the razorwings, they look vicious
Clawed fiend looks ferocious but you cant have multiples of them
Khymerae are just weird

In its hubris, Mankind claims dominion over the galaxy. However, their realm is naught but a few flickering candles in a vast and hungry darkness.
– A Treatise on the End of the Imperium, denounced and burned in 800.M41

It is the 41st millennium, a future in which the vast Imperium of Man stretches light-years across the galaxy. The wildly popular Warhammer 40,000 universe is one of constant strife; for untold billions, merely to be born is to be condemned to a lifetime of cruel suffering under an unforgiving and draconian regime. Only a select few in positions of power possess limited freedom: the Inquisitors who hunt heretics, the Rogue Traders who gather wealth, and the Deathwatch Space Marines who combat the alien threat. Science and technology offer little promise of relief; too much has been lost since the Dark Age of Technology, and all that is left goes to fuel the Imperium’s mighty war machine. It is a universe of grim darkness.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Black Crusade, the fourth standalone RPG in our popular Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay line! This remarkable experience offers players a new perspective on the conflict between the Imperium of Man and the forces of Chaos by delivering the unprecedented opportunity to play as a Disciple of the Dark Gods, whether as a Chaos Space Marine or a human Servant of Chaos.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The intoxicating lure of Chaos leads untold millions down the path of corruption, and the noblest of intentions offers little protection against its dark influence. A soldier’s bloodlust, a politician's ambition, a lover’s desire, and even a mother’s whispered prayer over her feverish child – they are all the playthings of the Dark Gods. Why resist? Wealth, power, and happiness await those who serve the Ruinous Powers, and the only price is your humanity.

Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, and Deathwatch each portray loyalty to the Imperium from multiple perspectives. Throughout them all, however, one common factor is Chaos: the ubiquitous antagonist responsible for much of what defines this immersive setting. But with Black Crusade, players can examine this exciting universe through an entirely new lens. Who are the characters, and what set them on the path of corruption? Are they willingly in league with the enemies of humanity, or are they merely the deluded slaves of forces far beyond their comprehension?

With countless creative and engaging opportunities, Black Crusade delivers an exciting new roleplaying experience. The days of the Imperium of Man are coming to an end, and the corpse-god will soon fall. Head to the Black Crusade website to learn more, and this summer, prepare to embrace Chaos!
