It should be noted that I am a flat painter, I'm not proficient enough to blend, highlight and all those other fancy things. But thus far I've had about five people telling me that I couldn't paint. Something about flat paint jobs being below their own standards.

But I'm glad that it's received with postive replies.
Well, I think it's really not that painting things "flat" or "realisticly" makes a difference. I mean, obviously it makes difference in appearance, but it's like judging a cartoon against a realistic pencil sketch; they are at base level having two different effects, and can't really be compared against each other. Granted, the "realistic" approach takes more talent and more practice (as well as more paints and more time razz ) but if you do a good job as this, then I think it looks sweel none-the-less.

Then, may I suggest you start experimenting with inks? They produce amazing effects without as much difficulty.
3nodding with an ink and a drybrush, you can create a toned flesh look without spending 3 hours on some guardsman's left arm.

Personally, I use some on the end of my brush, and put it on where I want it, then run it about a small amount.

It's quite good. Flat painter, smat painter, you could still do a good job if you tried simple layering. Like for reds, a coat od scab red, then gre red on higer parts, and then blood red on reall high spots.

I love that blue/black mix look whatever running out of adjectives.
Anyways cant wait to see the finished product. Which reminds me I forgot to say ti in that thread, but nice terminators as well.

The poster is about as unflufftastic as it gets, but I love it.

Hehe, Thank you very much. I liked now the blue and black came out also. Gave it a "glowy" effect, someone said. And thanks about my Termi's, i'm glad you liked em.

Ya ^^U i realise that the poster probably should have gone onto an imperial guards mens tanks or something, but i just couldn't give em blank walls. i figured it was a prank by the constructors of nothing else.

I like it, but it would be out of place anywhere but a wintery setting.

Not too. I used ink once, it's still everywhere. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but the pots of ink always leak out into my paint box. xp

Two amazing tips:

1 - Close the lids.
2 - Stand the pots on a flat surface.
