South Wales, warm? Surely you mean 'continually, eternally, and depressingly grey'?

I have nothing against Wales, I'm going to Uni in South Wales, as a matter of fact. Glamorgan, near Pontypridd, a little up from Cardiff.

It's not the most glamorous of places, but it could be a lot worse. But then, South Wales is basically an extension of England. The locals wouldn't like me saying it, but it's true...

Only south and middle Wales; North Wales is very much independant...

And I didn't say warm, I said warmer

Our school went on a trip to a retreat somewhere and there was a Welsh school there. There was a Francis-cult whereby they'd chant my name and cheer, bizarre.

Great bunch though, one of the girls gave me a rose as I left. Kath she was called, I still have it somewhere..

..the rose, that is.

The rose is called Kath, or you still have the rose not the girl? confused

It implies a rose. She implies a girl.

That said, you are probably better at English than I am.

Well you said the name Kath before you said she, so it could have been either, though unlikely

Well now it is. Scottish-like weather caught up with me, it seems. Bah.

Rained like the devil while I was there, played havoc with the tides.

Well, I'm Welsh, so I've some affection for the place.
What's that?
Enough to actually live there?

Oh dear me, no.

I like rain - at least I know how to deal with it. Sun, you never know what to do - wear shorts and it rains after about an hour of being out in the sun. Wear waterproofs and it stays boiling all day. Someone up there has something against me . . . or maybe they just don't like me in shorts or waterproofs?

I was born in Gwent, but adopted and then raised in england.
I love Wales, unfortunately I just haven`t the opportunity (or money!) to move back right now.

Im Welsh and damn proud of it. I live at South Wales in the small village of Llanharan, about 10 miles away from Cardiff. Lived there all my life and never want to move.

@ Erix Griffon - My brother goes to Uni of Glamorgan aswell biggrin

Apparently my heritage is Welsh, but have to honestly, and ashamedly, say that I know basically nothing about Wales. My stance is apathetic but somehow patriotic just knowing that I have family somewhere around there. Not that I'll ever get to meet them....

I have family there too, in that my grandfather came about an illitimate daughter whilst posted there in the Second World War.

We've stayed over there and they're great. It's through those visits and those since that I've come to love the place.
