Wow, those came out really nicely!

My only complaint is that their capes seem to red and flashy, whereas the rest of them looks a tad dark and worn down.

that is really good for a first timer! the first units I have ever were simply smudged in paint and looked really crappy! this is really good!! biggrin you have talent

Did you use non-GW paints?

Because those metalics look to good for citadel colours.

Xenos: I thought that too, but i'm not entierly sure how to make them more... Worn n stuff without major reconstuction of painting of the cape...That made little sense...

Ah well. I have wood elves now and I still have my Chaos Space Marines.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to suggest a bit of ink testing on your next batch though.
Just some thin black inking around the shield markings would bring them out real nice.

I will try that ^^, any suggestions on how to do it, just ink the gold, or all or use watered down ink or what?

Same thing with my cape, how should i make it look well more worn?

Probably a bit watered down so it doesnt dull the gold or brass or whatever it is, too much.

Ok, i will try, as soon as i find my moms cam i will add new pictures of that partialy finished model, he is now finished, along with my Champ of the squad, and a standard bearer. The standard is all done cept..Well teh standard.

Well, I don't know nessecarily how well this would turn out, but if you're willing to experiment with it, you could drybrush their capes with a brown-ish colour, and add extra to the bottoms and holes to make them seem a little muddy and whatnot. I've done it with my Death Korps and it looks great in person. If only they looked good in photos...

I can't see mmuch so don't take what I say to heart but it seems too clean for chaos
