I haven't researched all of the products that you're all mentioning, so I can't say for certain what's in them. But do a little research on your own. The vast majority of cosmetics and skin care out in the world today contain animal products or byproducts; those that don't are often tested on animals. How beautiful can you feel, knowing that an animal died so that its fat could go into your lipstick? How beautiful can you feel, knowing that they smeared your eye shadow into a bunny's eyes to see if the bunny went blind? Even though some companies say that they don't do this (and are telling the truth), they sometimes get their INGREDIENTS from companies that do this. Labels can be deceiving, so be careful. There are no specific laws exist regarding cruelty-free labeling of products, so companies can take liberties. While it is unlikely that a company would put blatantly false information regarding its animal-testing practices on its products, the statements it does make may not be fully informative and may indeed mislead consumers. For example, the label on Clairol’s Herbal Essence shampoo states that it is not tested on animals; Clairol, however, does test other products on animals.

Products that DO NOT use animal products or animal testing, and do not get ingredients from companies that use or abuse animals... I'll put them in a separate post, actually.

I don't believe in animal testing. I think we've figured out that if you shave a rabbit and put Nair on it for 40 minutes it will get a rash. Plus with computer models we have today it is completely unnecessary. That said, all companies that don't test on animals are using the knowledge gained from animal testing so I try to keep my moral superiority in check.

It took me a while to find a hard wax that didn't test on animals. ALL of the drugstore located hair removers test on animals. Sally Hansen, Nair, etc etc.

PETA hates animals. They hate your dog, they hate your cat, they especially hate your chickens that live in your backyard. I know for a fact they wish my super mutt bully-faced shelter rescue was dead because Ingrid Newkirk told me herself (well, not me personally, she wrote an article). PETA getting so many donations of out that b*****d Michael Vick's cruelty would be hilarious - if it weren't so tragic.

Just because PETA doesn't want people to eat animals, wear animals, or own animals doesn't make them pro-animal wellness. I'll stick with the ASPCA for my anti-cruelty donations. And continue volunteering at my county's animal shelter.

Everyday Minerals is cruelty free and I believe all of their products are vegan. I know they are veg.

Burt's Bees (recently purchased by Clorox Company who I guess are trying to change their image) is trying to make standards in labeling but all their proposals of course favor Burt's Bees products and standards. And the vegan people are never going to buy that bees products are cruelty free. Of course, you see a lot of vegans eat fruit - the product of the work of enslaved bees. rolleyes

Ingredient reading and being informed will still be the ultimate weapon rather than what claims people put on their bottles.

Has anyone used pro-active? If so what do you think of it? I'm 15 and i'd like to try it just have to stumble upon some money first wink

I used it a couple years ago and it did absolutely nothing at all for me. It didn't help, but it didn't hurt, either. I have a friend who tried it too and it didn't help her either.

We must not be a part of the millions that used it and it DID work. @_@

I use the mineral foundation by Loreal, and I'm very satisfied with it. :3
It could last longer throughout the day, I think, but it does well enough.
I was thinking of trying the Mary Kay mineral foundation because it says it lasts all day, but I haven't gotten around to it. @_@

If I'm going out on the town I do a great purple gold thing with cream shadows.

Awe now we get to a topic I love wooohooo! Anyway I used to do a lot of work for student film in makeup and hair. Needless to say I love makeup. This is what pisses my boyfriend off. When he met me i was in the morning a lost love boo hoo he left me phase of my life where i never wore makeup and dressed pretty much like a man. Why he is still with me I will never know but now I am slightly more confident thus I am starting to break out the girl clothing again and that makes him happy for the moment.

However I have fallen back into my old self a bit. Everyday in the shower i use dove soap cause i like the soft. Followed by neutragina bar soap and then a facial scrub. On the body I use another scrub and then more soap to shave my legs. Next is touch of mink moisturizer for the body followed by a sented lotion cause the mink stuff smells yucky. Then into the under wear and pull back the wet hair into a pony tail or pig tails. Next is a spritz of whatever i feel like that matches the lotion used perfume but not too much cause it has alcohol in it and drys your skin out and makes you look older.

After that i use that new wave thing. I loves it so very much cause it causes tingly skin an leaves it feeling very smooth. Then sea breeze astringent and an alcohol free toner. After that is an spf 15 moisturizer from olay for sensitive skin and brushing the teeth and mouth wash.

see i told you i had a long routine see why this pisses off the boy yet?

So now that all the prep is done its time for the fun stuff to begin on to make-up and all its powers and wonders.

First i start with the basics, First is a soft layer of clean and clear shine control powder. Next a creme by benefit called ooohla lift which tightens up the skin under your eyes and helps take away all the bags there. Next is a little pencil called eye bright that and high brow by the same company. These are to open the eye and give it more shape.

Next is a concealer to give a more even playing field all over. I dont use it so much but when I do i tend to lean more to almay cause its ease to use. And now on to foundation. Here is where I start mixing stuff and lose track cause i have put together a liquid start that is a mixture of three different cover girl colors and a thin layer is applied to everything. Then two almay powder foundations. After that is a rimmel liquid high light that goes around the eye to the cheek bone. Next is a bronzer fallowed by a product called ten from benefit with a light pink blush added. After all that is a light or translucent almay powder.

Next we move to the eye where i start with an eye liner called bad gal and another pencil from sephora. The eyeshadow varies depending on the pallet desired... Finally I use about three different mascaras.

On the lips, First is burts bees rasberry lip gloss. Next is whatever lip stick color I want that wont draw attention away from the eyes but still allows me to bring out my soft lip.

Follow that up with hair which is a whole different ball game... a shot of breath spray and a stick of gum... another spritz of perfume and tada tingy is ready...

Me and my boyfriend also used it and it did nothing for us.
