sadly, at one point i was a homophobe...but that was because i didn't want to face my real feelings about men... especially being one... especially living in i'm-a-uber-conservitive territory ... with uber-conservitave parents, family, and friends...

the FIRST chapter (it's only like 6 pages long) has an unbelievably beautiful sex scene... but it's two men... rather than bother me, i felt all hot and steamy-like

I was raised in the idea that love between two man or two girls was bad, but I was never against it. I kept a very low profile regarding this matter and then I stumbled upon Gravitation, that opened my eyes to other male-male relationships like Touya-Yukito and I got grazy over boy-love. whee

I now encourage people to watch Yaoi or at least respect the people who likes it. 4laugh

I didnt know that yaoi excisted till me friend show me the first episode of gravitation, i was like "OMG, but they are guys" but in till the end of the episode i love it, i even wanted to see more. At that time i dont know anyting about gays intill i saw gravitation i started to see gay people in school. sweatdrop but i always thout it was cute some how, i couldnt explain it coz im a christian.

There was a point in time a few years ago where I was looking up D.N. Angel things. I saw things with Satoshi and Daisuke and I just said, " Y--no..." Not a fan at all.

Then for some odd reason, don't remember why, but I ordered Gravitation off of Netflix. Then everything went upside down. Never thought my life would make a U-turn like that.

I've never really been afraid of it but I was more afraid of people knowing I liked it. Somehow, it just happened and poof, I'm hooked and I don't know why. When I was younger, I never really thought about it before, maybe. Of course I was a kid with a very dirty mind. sweatdrop So the transition to yaoi was incidentally my sister's fault. Hmm. Up until I was, oh, 10-ish, I was completely ignorant to the possibility of two men or two women being together.
When I first stumbled across it -a Harry/Draco fic, no less- I was all like 'This is soo gross... but why can't I stop reading?'
However, one week later, I was hooked. No idea why or how, but I was.

I'm currently writing a slash series, original work, so I'm hooked through that, too xd

Up to middle school, I was absolutley oblivious to yaoi, yuri--homosexuals entirely! Then I knew about it when one of my friends introduced me to YamixYugi ("Yu-gi-oh!").

I used to be oppossed to it, and I usualy avoided it when scanning through fanfiction. Theeeeen, someone handed me FAKE. I became addicted. That was a few years ago. sweatdrop Now, well my obsession with mansmexx it totaly what I'm known for. xDD

Like the first post says, I didn't so much hate it as I was very afraid of it.
I remember google is where I first saw yaoi, with my friend. We were looking for images of some anime, I think YYH, and saw our fair share of graphic situations. After that it was like opening a floodgate. You can't go far on the internet without unintentionally finding yaoi somewhere.
I was a little catholic girl and I thought it was all porn, so I was scared of it. I was afraid that my dad would see me accidentally coming across it and ground me. I was afraid that my friends would find it on my search history and think I was a pervert.
I feel the need to point out that I never thought homosexuality was scary or grose, though. Yaoi to me was just something on the same level as watching an R rated movie or saying the f-word in front of your parents. Something I'd get in a lot of trouble for looking at.
