DreamerSpirit Sadly, theres noting really like that in my region... I believe that there's one festival in August, about two hours away from where I live. But I can't drive, and at that point I'd still be a few months too young to get into most of the events, so I don't see it as being worth it to go. I know that there is a gothic ball held every October in Salem (a town about an hour and a half from me...), but the admission fee is $100, and they don't even have actual bands... I'd rather spend that $100 on a new corset than on going to a ball. every year there is a halfway to halloween costume ball, with live music. i'd go, but i'm not 21 (its at a bar) and in portland, our big city out here in the stix of maine, on halloween night there is a goth ball with live music. we have an awesome local music scene in maine.

i wouldnt go to see any of the bands listed there. they all suck. as for metal, it all depends on what kind of metal....black metal, death metal, power metal, thrash metal(oh how i love thrash metal), etc...

Lol, sounds kinda hard to miss^^ I'll be the girl with multi-coloured dread extensions....not wool this year after the five-day bake-fest that was '06 eek That sounded like an awsome set, but I can only afford one fest a year and it's Download due to the atmostphere....too many theving chavs at Leeds and Reading stare Girl with multi coloured extension dreads? lol, that shouldn't be hard to find at download.

I find it rather bemusing that there are "Renaissance Faires" in America, where no Renaissance occured, yet in Europe there's barely anything equateable to that. Having said that, I'd find it a blast to practice my archery surrounded by people dressed in costume ^^ **we do have some Roman and Medieval (pronounced Medy-eval, not the bizzare meed-eval o.O) occasions but they're not that much as a common occurance, or as wide spread - relegated to castles and the like)**

Isobel Bellamy It's a new year: meaning it's getting closer to festival season! I'm a great fan, 5 days of nothing to do but hang around in a field with a very large crowd of people, and if you go to the right ones, mostly alternative people at that. I'm currently saving up for the Download/Donnington Festival (8-10 June), three days of metal, 5 days of camping, all fun as hell!! The headliners have been announced: Iron Maiden, My Chemical romance (hang on, it's a metal festival!), and Linkin Park. A slight difference from the Tool/Metallica and Gunsn'Roses mix they had last year confused How about Germany's Rock AM Ring? (1-3 June) Confirmed so far: Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, Beatsteaks, Muse, Billy Talent, Mando Diao, Evanescence, Wir Sind Helden, Korn, Slayer, Dave Matthews, The Hives, Arctic Monkeys, My Chemical Romance, Kaiser Chiefs, Jan Delay & Disko No. 1, Mia., The Kooks, Wolfmother, Stone Sour Sounds pretty darn good to me, one weeked in a field in Germany, the next in a race track in England! How about the Whitby gothic weekends? Far more to the goth taste, with the Cruxshadows this year! So, how do people like these? throw themselves into with gusto, or shirk away? god, my life sucks, i envy you. i wish i could go SOMEWHERE! crying

blackfoxi god, my life sucks, i envy you. i wish i could go SOMEWHERE! crying Save up and there's quite a few choices, it's all a question on money unfortunately, take the download festival it's £145 for the whole weekend, not a small price for a student. but, my diva-like festy partner refuses to go unless it's RIP (the better camping site with mains toilets and showers, the one without the smell of bodily functions) which is £289 eek So, I get to go places, but I'm broke for several months before and after xp
