Jen Lee Quick as some of you probably heard Tokyopop is doing a lot of restructuring in the company. many of the OEL projects got affected. Off*beat got put on "hiatus". what does that mean exactly? i'm not entirely certain myself. i apologize for not sharing the news earlier but i was hoping to learn more information about the future of the project. all i can say still at this moment is that i have expressed deep concern to my former editor that i wanted a means to finish the story and give my readers closure. i'm trying not to say too much because i want to keep my options and relations as good as possible. i was given a kind of vague response quite some time ago that things were still being re-organized on their end and they were looking in to options for allowing their creators to finish their stories. **in short, tokyopop put the freeze on off*beat and there's nothing i can do about it until i hear otherwise...which maybe never. i'm disheartened and embarrassed that i have to be the one to share this news so please don't shoot the messenger.
It's heartbreaking for us, of course, but could you imagine what it must feel like to the person who brought these characters and their stories to us through several years of hard work, only to be put on hold at the conclusion of her story through an ambiguous message that wasn't even presented face to face? [/run-on sentence] If I were in her position I'd sit in a corner and cry. Like, for a couple weeks.
TokyoPop. We are no longer friends. talk2hand
HOWEVER:
Jen Lee Quick depends on tokyopop. i'd definately make it available if they let me. i have pages just sitting here doing nothing. [...] for all intents and purposes of publishing, yes they do have the rights.
all hope may not be lost. Maybe. If the company gives her permission she could post it somewhere herself. c:
On another note, please check out other stuff on her dA -- she's posted some details/art about her upcoming monthly comic series that looks promising c: We should give her the support she needs.

*SHAMELESS THREAD REVIVAL FTW!*
Okay, so Ms. Quick's new comic series, Renascence, has been published and is available online! : D For an awesome price, too.

The stories aren't bluntly romance, but there are some shounen-ai aspects to it. Who cares either way, though, right? It's just good that she's still working and drawing : D
I won't be able to get my hands on them for a while but I'm really looking forward to it. The samples she's posted on her deviantArt look promising. And her art style is my crack D;
aaaanywaaay ...
LMAO, I feel like such a stalker posting all this info on her and her progress >__> I JUST LOVE THE SERIES AND WOULD HATE TO SEE IT DIE OKAY?!
(PS, she has some utterly lovely Tory/Colin art in her dA gallery.)
*goes to find a better hobby*
