GilAskan Kostbarer Alptraum Anyway, Closer is a great album. Definetly THE sound of goth. Closer was pretty huge in terms of impact on the goth sound... though really, I still argue that goth wouldn't exist without Bela Lugosi's Dead, and that wouldn't exist with Joy Division's "Shadowplay".
I believe "We're So Happy" is worth mentioning as well.

-Resurrected Writer- Kostbarer Alptraum Rellik San Ian Curtis was made into another false messiah... the archetype for what Cobain is. Perhaps Maynard is to follow?
Anyway, Closer is a great album. Definetly THE sound of goth. "Decades" is oddly addictive. "Heart and Soul" is a great example, as well.
Yes, anything off Closer is a good example. That Ian Curtis is one lazy b*****d. He hasn't put out an album in years!
