It's not a recent thing, people have been calling him Gee for YEARS. It was a nickname even before MCR exsisted.
I don't mind if he doesn't mind. However, Frank does NOT like to be called Frankie (he's said in an interview... I forget which) but still, people can do whatever they want. I think Frankie is cute, but if he doesn't like it, I wouldn't go on using it.

I call him GERALD cause I am an as$@*#*.
I find it funny that the scene kids have no clue what his name is and still claim that MCR is their life.
Ha ha, silly scene kids.
So just dispite them, whenever I talk about Gerard. I say Gerald.
Oh and, Gee should be reserved for those who personally know him. I for one, have never refered to him as Gee. His family and friends should have that right. I don't know, just saying.

when i first heard him called
"Gee"
I thought of stoopid posuers calling him that
that dont know anything about
the band and think they know it all.
But, apparently i am totally wrong.

I think it's stupid because now that everyine is calling him "Gee" He sounds like a rapper!! Like "home G" or something.... I think it's retarded.....

Never knew people did that in the first place.

It does make him sound like some sort of Rapper.

I have a friend who's name is Abigail and I call her Abee-gee-eh-I-El.
She hates it, but I still call her that.... xd
No, it doesn't bother me... I don't really call him that though.

Gauhd. *hehe* Well, I think you should use his real name when you''re mentioning him. as in "I like Gerard Way's Voice" But if the person knows WHO you're talking about, you could use "gee". I don't think it'd be wise to call him that to hgis face, though.... o____o

i call him gee maybe once a month,and i don't even say it i THINK it. but it's kind of weird but it's okay.(not like with ryan ross and whatever nickname he was given,i can't even remember now!)

I have never called him that, but you must admit it is easer to write/say then Gerard. Plus with alot of the interviews the band members call him "Gee"...so it does not really bother me.

I call him Gerard because it takes me forever to pick up on new things like nicknames. >_> same XD except no one in my school calls Gerard "gee" ive never heard of it before 0.o

it only bothers me because it started with his close family and friends calling him that. and now that everyone does it, it seems to have lost its sentimental value. my boyfriend calls me Luffa...and i know that if everyone started doing it, i wouldn't really appreciate it.

Hmm, i usually refer to him as 'Gerard' when speaking in life, but as to typing, 'Gee' is as close to chat speak as i ever get. It's just simpler, and everyone knows exactly what you mean.
