moon_child_27 okay, I was reading Rolling Stone, and there was a side column entitled, "Who Hates Emo Most?" just the frickin' title made me mad. Then there were the comments. Dave Draiman from Disturbed said, "All these p***y-a.ss, makeup-wearing, suit-wearing mama's boys... are a disgrace to rock & roll." then Maynard James Keenan from Tool said, "The emo s.hit'sjust a backlash to rap rock. It's the same cookie-cutter crap. It's music written by frat d.ouche bags for frat d.ouche bags, to give roof.ies to unsuspecting girls before date r.ape ensues. 'oh, I'm sensitive. I feel. Here, have a roof.ie coolata.'" Then to find out that at the UK's Reading festival, people threw crap at MCR, and knocked out Panic!At the Disco's lead singer with a bottle! all the people in those bands, those s.hitty-a.ssed rock dudes in s.hitty-a.ssed rock bands want to contrast themselves to emo bands? they think they're better? they think that the emo/punk bands are cookie-cutter? I have listened to some of those bands, and let me tell you, to me, they are the ones who are pathetic, and all sound the same. okay, there's my little rant. just had to get that out there. That's kinda stupid....
And yes, someone did throw a bottle at Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco a few months ago. I remember hearing about it.

Wow. They took that Way out of hand..
Its okay for them to dislike Mcr, but it say all that about them?
I'm not sure why other bands would take it that far?
Like, I'm in a small band. Like really small. lol
But, I don't think we would ever say something
like THAT about another band..

I hate it when stuff like this happens.
I mean, nobody HAS to like emo, or pop-punk, or gangsta rap. (In fact, I can't stand that last one. It's ruining the world!) Just don't go bashing it in places where people adore it, and don't trumpet your preferred genre as the one and only musical messiah.
Tell me, have any of the guys in the accusing bands ever thought of what other people think of their genre?

Yes, he did say that. He's been basically crying over the interent about it too, which only makes him look more emo by the way.
I love Panic! At the Dsico. I love their music nd I love the people in the band. The only thing I hate about them....is Brendon saying that s**t. Right now he looks like such an a** because about 70% of P!ATD fans ARE EMO. Yeah....he needs a wake up call.

I don't rhink MCR is emo at all. They have moments, but I'd say it's more pop-punk. Or, (sorry if this offends anyone), punk on estrogen.
