We'll carry on! I once sung the first two verses in a Mr. Hanky tone. It was so funny. xd

ghostmelody I love the whole thing heart However, I definitely have a favorite verse:
"Well mother, what the war did to my legs and to my tongue You should have raised a baby girl I should have been a better son If you can coddle the infection, They can amputate at once You shoulda been - I could have been a better son"
same here i love that part to death

i love the whole thing but i mainly love the ending when it's a big chorus like they're at a bar singing it or something with the whole bar. it's powerful and then the extra voice!! it's amazing!! it's really the most emotional part of the song and i love it!!! they were amazing for doing it and i applaud them!! heart

I was really impressed that they got Liza Minelli to sing with them! She's like a cabaret legend and I didn't know they were into that.

Give me a shot to remember And you can take all the pain away from me
It's definitely one of my favorite songs. I love the lines "You shoulda raised a baby girl, I sould've been a better son." just because the way Gerard sings it is so odd. I always sing it out loud. It doesn't matter where I am, I always sing it. And I always use that crazy voice. whee
A kiss and I will surrender The sharpest lives are the deadliest to lead

Yep, I'm another fan of "Well, Mother what the war did to my legs and to my tongue..." I love the barroom-style part, too. I imagine My Chem, Mikey and Gee's parents, and Frank's mom all crammed into the booth, getting in each other's way, and having so much fun recording that bit. I think my favorite line after the aforementioned bit is (I think it's off; sorry, my friend's using my book for a class) "if you could stay, then I'll show you the way". When I paid close enough attention to hear what Gerard was singing, I giggled and pointed out that it'd be amusing if MCR were performing Mama, and, during that line (the word "way" specifically, which would be changed to Way in this case), Frank points to Mikey and/or Gerard.
